He may very well say that, but it isn't what is causing the problem....:smt033

Well this is the stuff of dreams. Page 4 of Sports Psychology for Dummies and D_P states. It is important that you strike early to gain a crucial mental advantage. Any methodology that can be used to inflict the beginnings of Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt amongst the opposition should be ruthlessly exploitd. So, nice try to deflect the facts nickh by attempting to introduce this new "oh it's not fair" line. But it won't work, the Boysh now know full well that this is all a lame attempt to deflect from the debilitating impact of the George Michaelesque Mars Bars in the shower story. If I could find a negative angle to this right now, it would be that this tactical victroy for us does have one limitation alongside the team selection, as I may have to rethink our tactics for the second half. I'm not so sure that we can get the instructions out to BigDaveWatson to play in the hole quite so enthusiastically now. It isn't fair - feck me - what's next, blaming the Premier League for not rolling the pitch? The Echo for not covering the game in full? (Oh ok well, not that one perhaps) You behave and get back on focus or I'll have to email Big Dave Merrington to come down and sit in the stand behind your dug out to make comments through a mega-phone all through the match...... Hmmmm now THERE's an idea....

Oh dear, did the South Africans vanish into thin air today? What a shame. Now, I wonder who posted on here at about 1:20 your time saying oh dear :-) Next question. Did they exist or did something change over the weekend? Should keep this busy for a day or so and LMFAO at GM's give away post!

So We have the dodgy geezers trying to stitch up skatesmuff so that the club ceases to exist and the land can be used for recreation instead of football. Thereby they pocket a nice big fat profit. The only person who didn't see that coming at the start of the season was Storrie, who thought it was all a cost saving plan to join the land of the living. Storrie still didn't believe it, even during the January Transfer Window. He thought he was trying to save their PL status, he never realised that he'd been stitched up and it was the survival of the CLUB that was at stake. So this weekend we have the takeover and we have the takeover. One involved the Yarpies (that's South Africans to you lot), the other involved the last usable asset the club had. Wonder how the Yarpies figures looked with the sudden change in asset status? Will Storrie finally wake up in time to realise that the only way to save the club is by understanding the games or will he sleepwalk Leonesque into "the takeover is coming" defence at the court hearing. After the weekend, the best that could now happen is that they acceot relegation and accept that they will be in debt worse than we were when they start off in the CCC with all the parachute money tied up in various Ocean Finance knots. With no facilities, will their Academy players be ready for the CCC next year? Will they do a Rupert or will they do a Pay to play deal for old has beens. I sympathise with the they should be obliterated from the planet view, but still feel that a they deserve a few more years of abuse yet. If they DO survive then in some ways that would be equally funny as it would no doubt thwart the evil schemes being hatched in the background - leaving upset fans and upset owners. Who happen to be "interesting" people with "interesting" contacts. Wonder if the hit squad will use UAE passports to enter the country to cut the brake pipes on a Mercedes?

Oops. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I almost feel sorry for him. ](*,) This will be funny, shame I have to run out again but stay tuned And on a separate note = I've been saying this for ages.....

What a generous man, what a wonderful gift. Remind me again how much money those shares cost him? 10% of 100% which cost him One Pound Marvellous so he just gave the Trust a 10 pence donation to the cause

And not ONE comment about "The Community" Not ONE comment about the small businesses (such as Terry the Builder) to whom they owe money Not ONE simple acknowledgement of the pain they are inflicting Everything is about Survival, nothing about their Corporate Social Responsibility, which is what you would expect from an operation that has been washing things (including it's hands) for years. Oh and first comment The Supermarket would be worth a fortune.. Well guess what that is nothing to do with the club anymore - YOU GAVE THAT AWAY TO CHANRAI AT THE WEEKEND - or was that a fib as well? Oh and the squad is worth millions - all those loanees and free transfers that is That article really says the following. "This charade has almost been played out to the end as it has been in the interests of the owners to liquidate this club as quickly as possible so that the land can be used for a major redevelopment. By showing the council that every possible avenue was explored to save the club they will now understand and accept the buidling of a squash court and gym for the residents of the new development This was required, because under the terms of the Council Mandate, once the club ceases to exist the land the stadium stood on can be used for a Leisure development that earns us money as property developers. With the club gone the property is worth far far more than the prospective paper losses on the value of the shares" So long suckers will be the epitaph

Some gems. The sale was going to be done today. Now it's - yep 48 hours Nice of him to tell us what we all worked out - THEY ARE INSOLVENT So we now have a public admission of guilt. What do the FA & The PL intend to do about that? And for that matter what about the DTI or whatever it is called these days - he has just admitted to a crime in that article.

Y'know, sometimes, despite all your best efforts and PR management, the "media" somehow manage to get the wrong end of the stick.... http://www.theonion.com/content/news/tiger_woods_announces_return_to?utm_source=onion_rss_daily Well I lol'd although it is NSFW or forum members under the age of about 50

Ouch http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/21/bonuses-chaotic-portsmouth-brink-collapse See it WAS the FA Cup.. Now who was it that was the CEO that sanctioned a bonus system that paid out MORE money than you earnt from playing in the competition? Meanwhile http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/22/portsmouth-balram-chanrai-administration Clearly something is going on, the names of lawyers etc are in here. That again is most odd, but gives y'all some more room to google

You must be Peter Storrie....... Imagining the transfer window is still open (sorry the nit picking in the thread got to me there for a second) But seriously, will be interesting now to see what Barnard does. His record at Southend was good, playing with (supposedly) better players on better home pitches will we see him develop and improve his all round game as much as Lambert has improved since we signed him? He broke his duck yesterday let's hope he "kicks on". Would be a damned nice problem to get Connelly fit and have him not able to get back in the side because we keep winning every week.

Oh wow, now you're in trouble nick. Mate of mine who I work at the golf with every year is the lad who has put togther the Dubai Soccer 7's in a couple of weeks. He got us loonies to sign up as Team Liason Managers for the event. Just found out last night that I'm down to be managing AC Milan's Legends Team... LMFAO I have the final interview on Sunday. I got to this point because of "My successful experience of Managing a Football Team in a High Pressure Recreational Environment" Lol they even had a photo link from last year's match You should see some announcements in the press about this later today. (Oh ok not mentioning me but all about them) Now this gives me the idea for a REALLY cunning plan. B Rabbit up against Paolo Maldini.... lol nobody will spot me sneaking him on as a rolling sub. Actually thinking it through, I think playing against BDW would be more scary.

I'm glad to see that SBT hasn't given up. Obviously they will be saved as he is no doubt leading the charge to bring in the new investment. http://business.maktoob.com/20090000438422/Fahim_to_decide_on_Portsmouth_future/Article.htm?utm_campaign=Day-Newsletter&utm_medium=LatestSports-news5&utm_source=Day-Newsletter&utm_content= Now he obviously learnt a lot from his encounter with Storrie - buy more shares.... Um, well, like, er actually old chap you did own more shares but gave them away to Al Mirage. How did it go? You bought 100% of the shares for ONE POUND, sold 90% of the shares to Al Mirage for ONE POUND (Hey - GREAT profit return that one) So now you will buy some more shares - let me guess, you're going to invest exactly what the club is worth at the moment.. Yep, Another ONE POUND. jeez dude, I sure hope you helped get that Yarpie consortium to the table, BOY are they in for a surprise.

Duh - I've been saying THAT for a long time mate :-)

SLH was offered to some VERY major people before they went pop at a figure of less than 30mil. The book value of the assets was around 50mil Skates have parachute payments of 30mil BUT they will still have a burn rate of about 6-8 mil a year losses on that with the running costs so the cash back is NOT 33mil Then they have to build for the future. The maths does not work UNLESS there is another angle (again)
-
It totally does not make ANY sense. No matter WHO I have talked to over the past days - City based lawyers, insolvency experts, M&A experts, NOBODY, repeat NOBODY has EVER come across a situation where ANY details of a possible takeover have been discussed in detail WITHOUT havings een a Proof of Funds FIRST. Still, as Storrie doesn't need that to open discussions, maybe I or in fact all of us on here should get on the phone and email to him tomorrow with better bids

Hmm I am getting REALLY worried about the Home team. Did we REALLY need to know that Minty has a fit arse? I know the shorts were a bit tight on some last year, but nick, if this is your cunning plan this year to gain favour with the "seemed a nice chap" ref, I wonder if you may be putting all your eggs in the wrong basket a bit too early. Nice to see I have the brains in the team again, Granty - the Thinking man's Steve Moran and Arizonalallana to come on in the left hand slot for the second half. They'll never big up BigDaveWatson from set pieces again and they'll have a mdifielder up front against Big Dave, oh dear, images of Wiley Coyote & steamrollers there - be afraid BR, be very afraid. And the Flying Finn, what can I say? I am honoured to have such major league after party and airmiles experts in the side This is gonna rock. The Sports Psychologist is booked lads, but I'm having trouble tracking down the Physio for the rub downs - my mails to Horton Heath keep getting bounced back for some reason. The really great news is that Ericof Arabia has agreed to be our dietician and now simply needs your Body Mass Indexes so he can properly prescribe the correct amount of Old Speckled Hen you need to consume each day before the game. When I asked him about Pasta and stuff he said yes pastanotherbottle please. So looks good to go your team expect nothing less than a 5 mile run a night, failing that ten minutes tennis on a WII should sort us out

You forgot that bastion of the PL and the all conquering new regime and players that are Sunderland Who, if they are REALLY lucky may gain one more point before the end of the season

Which is why GM's thinking is so much fun to read.

You hold a hand at poker with a 7 high as they do with the court, then you need to add as much FUD to that hand as you can. (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). That FUD is designed to delay a decision (the ticking clock gets nearer another TV cash hand out for example). At each step the FUD thrown into the public domain is aimed at causing the Judge to question the final Judgement (ie the Death Sentence). For any NORMAL business, FUD is irrelevant - how many times can a small business with cash flow troubles get his Bank manager to extend his overdraft? But the tactic is to buy time. Even though a WUO cannot be appealed, FUD is then used in the event of that order to seek an Appeal to a higher Court over a point of Law (ie the WUO is valiud but the law should allow you to have imaginary friends) That is the only hand they hold, FUD is their only hope, they will keep throwing it out until the very last second. The law however is clear. And to be brutally honest, Storrie et al have only themselves to blame - They TRIED to take the p1ss by ignoring the threats and the agreements they HAD made with HMRC. The law doesn't like that and neither will HMRC. They COULD have done a deal, they did not. Therein lies the blame. For amateurs who try it, FUD always turns out to have been a crock of sh1t when it blows back in your face
