Dear Mr Claridge. I just want to drop you a quick note of thanks for making the recent fans forum interesting. It is clear that you have researched the subject matter well, you have solid views on how matters have come to a head and who to blame. I would email this to you but it was obvious that you are so well informed that you obviously read this thread on a regular basis. Well done, good job, especially the put down of the fan who believed it is a better deal than West Ham. Yours DP

Would they swap the FA Cup for solvency about 70% FINALLY they are getting it
-
Only 70 posts to go. Chanrai will save the club - more likely for the Airport to re-open
-
Mick Channon to the rescue....
-
This club has nothing to offer anyone outside this room.... WHU have a stadium Well done
-
Hahahaha The idiot asking why WHU were sold for 50mil but nobody will buy the club. BECAUSE THEY HAD ASSETS YOU MORON
-
Sol Campbell is a disgrace.... But who agreed the contract?
-
Who is the bloke hitting the nails on the head about people at the club needing to take responsibility. Sacha wanted to sell "in a hurry" shame they hadn't read this thread or they'd have known why Is it Steve Claridge by any chance?
-
Many local businesses have been "robbed" Makes a joke of the value of the club to the community
-
Of course, we didn't see that one coming You've been bought by some blokes from Alpha Centauri
-
Woo hoo Company Voluntary Agreement
-
Pay up Pompey Pompey Pay Up All pretty genteel but all pretty realistic. My one thought, our fans were ripped in two by the mess before we went bust, but where were their protests? Yeah sure a few are coming out now but not 2 years ago

The BBC Journo says you could write a 300 page book on the story.... Nah - we beat you to it mate we're up to 297 already! The story of the builder called in to make emergency changes before the season was sad until he evoked the class war that Skatemuff is a working class city You don't see no other club shirts down here (you'd get kicked!) Jacob offered to go on air but the club said no
-
Still blaming the PL
-
Yarp have it loud & lol.
-
For some reason, just imagined an old scene from Red Dwarf..... HMRC = Cat.... I'm gonna eat you little fishy... best I could find. On the same subject I hear Storrie tellers next idea is to hire Ace Rimmer to save the day
-
Didn't they call an emergency fans forum for tonight? Or was that just the radio station?
-
Right. BBQ time... Portugese style Sardines followed by a local version of Mackerel (and before you ask, no we don't get that rare flat fish down here) So just thought I'd leave you with what I think should probably be the final epitaph of Storrie after today's events... Peter Storrie, without doubt, the man who showed the world that Whacko Jacko would have made a great Chairman at Bournemouth. Barbequed Fish, just seemed Sooooo appropriate

Tricky one for the FAPL The ESPN article comments that they are insolvent according to the SoA. Then they were in breach of the FA rules end of. There cannot be any escape from sanctions. The FAPL could then allow them to sell a player who earns let's say 30k a week but who cannot play football until August for a new club - that's 6 months, say 25 weeks so the buying club has a bill of 750k before they start.... Hmm the discounts will have to be high and yet again, the transfer window ONLY CLOSED 3 WEEKS AGO, so again, how on earth can this be allowed so near to the window? the Roy Carroll issue has two differences - 1) it was in April and 2) it was a goalkeeper which IS partially covered in the "emergency criteira". This gets messier by the press comment
-
Let's just revisit this insane open the window idea. How many clubs have gone to the wall since the transfer window was introduced? Saints went pop for a 4 grand cheque but the dudes on here will know the exact info as to how many. Then let us ask how many businesses LOST substantial amounts of money because those clubs went pop. Then let us ask WHY THE FECK FIFA, FA et al did not make a special case and open the window to save the smaller clubs? (It's not as if THEY hadn't been BEGGING for the past few years) Saving those clubs by allowing them to sell players (in our case McGoaldrought, Surman etc) COULD have stopped suppliers losing money or even THEIR livelihood. This is such a bullsh1t idea, because I for one know that IF I had been affected by this in the past would be sueing the a*ss off the football authorities for not doing it sooner. On top of that it is FIFA and Platini who are FIGHTING with the PL to introduce special new rules on debt. How INSANE can the people down at Nott Arf be? You can hear it now.. "Look at us, we are the classic example of everything you say is wrong in English football. We cheated by spending money we did not have and we voted against your ideas. Can you please now change all your rules for HOW MANY professional football clubs across the world just to do us a favour because we were stupid? But we have a nice bloke with a Bell" Hell that whole idea is EVEN funnier than Sultan Bin Trump Forget it

On befhalf of the Thread, may I humbly apologise. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, events of the past 4 days have been happeneing at such a fast pace that today has been the first chance in a long while for your weary but serious dudes to catch a breather. I will admit to having spent my free time productively buying tickets for the Twenty20 here tomorrow (Where the hell did I put my Barmy Army hat?). Others have been catching up with newly conceived and then delivered Grandchildren, paying the electricity bills (unlike our Nemesis) and have generally been recharging their batteries before re-engaging in a few moments of Completely Vigilant Attention to the situation down the road. Do not fear, this thread will be safely back on course once those fine upstanding heroes at HMRC have completely recovered from the injuries inflicted by their rolling on the floor laughing at the latest set of paperwork.

Oh bugger... Put the smiley in the wrong place

Interesting stuff PES. The fall out won't stop there though, if this has any resemblance to the truth then apart from the fact that the FAPL have been royally conned, the next set of messy and serious questions will be... How the feck did two "allegedly" prominent Arab businessmen get involved... And no, those question won't be asked in the media, no wonder Al Fahim moved all his assets out of the UAE and Al Mirage has never been seen or heard. For Chess tournament read "On the run" Lol at me enjoying Burn Notice - think our fake Sheiks may be about to get one each as well. Meanwhile in other news http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/18/sulaiman-al-fahim-portsmouth-dubai-debt He denies the debt, then says it is 1.2mil. He denies the interest bill - but accepts there was a court case. He denies he received any money (of course he didn't receive any money - it was his BUSINESS) Oh and he denies the nationality of the plaintiff - he wasn't a Kazakh, he was a Russian. (Hmm interesting couldn't be a coincidence that surely) He's coming back here on Friday - that'll be worth seeing lol
