Wow, apparently I have just been on telly at the cricket. Just had a mate txt from home - think he's had more to drink than Eric Meanwhile all seems a little bit sort of sort of from the commentary
-
Strongbow this evening. you on shifts or OSH?
-
Prediction league dudes seem to favour this as being a draw - would be agood result but NOT with us still wanting to push on. Can we make this the start of the climb up the league? Well England won at cricket last night so could happen!
-
Yes but Aviva negotiated a settelement. They were not shafted, They professionally accepted a discount on what they were owed. There was also talk of "future payments" should the club move up the league, no idea if ML accepted that. Whereas Chanrai can do what he likes with the stadium. Which as I KEEP trying to tell everyone is IN THE WAY of a LOT of dodgy people making a LOT of money from a property development. The club is liquidated and all that land is redeveloped with a Leisure function such as a cinema

And again.. So the submission to the Court stated "investor" waiting.... needed 30 days One appears to be a Ponzi scheme and the other has started discussions without Proof of Funds. Let me guess what the Judge & HMRC would say..... yep nothing - they'd have been taken off to hospital to have their sides stitched back together
-
Oh Dear Lord they have GOT to be kidding SURELY. FFS, The Club are in direct discussions with investors WHO HAVE NOT EVEN PROVEN THEY HAVE FUNDS YET! Forget the obvious Al Fahim analogies, but in ANY professional M&A discussions the SELLER will only ENGAGE in DISCUSSIONS with a BUYER who has PROVEN they have the FUNDS in place to do the deal. Dear few fans - I truly hope that you don't get all excited - Tony Lynham PROVED funds to Mark Fry. Marc Jackson PROVED funds to Mark Fry. They weren't even allowed to look at the books until they did. South African Investors without proof of funds - well done Hutch good job!

PMSL Nail Head Full article was an update on the PL reject story http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7277365/Portsmouth-request-to-sell-outside-transfer-window-rejected-by-Premier-League.html

Nah GF borrowed it so was a 20 min drive away funny thought tho - WiMax the next do stupid things while driving technology
-
Which does them absolutely no good whatsoever. The debt to Chanrai is irrelevant UNLESS they can pay HMRC and can pay the wages. Fiddling with Assets to pay off secured debtors will not generate solvent funds to run the club. HMRC have looked at the matter and see there is (the widely reported) 22/26mil shortfall for this season. The faster they wind the company up, the faster SOME of the employees will find new jobs with a proper cheque each month AND the PAYE on time, Oh BTW - here's another SPOT THE LIE moment for you.... Storrie said before the court hearing that arrangements had been made with non HMRC creditors for staged payments. On the 5-Live forum, Terry the Builder Fan told the entire nation that he had not been paid for work done at the start of the season AND THAT NOBODY AT THE CLUB WOULD ANSWER HIS CALLS..... Now, where is that quote from Storrie at the court case and the 5-Live link - mail it to the HMRC, Justice Derrett, contempt of court thank you he gets his just deserts. :smt066 Oh I know some parts of Portsmouth are pretty grim and run down, but never thought we'd get to hear tales of Solvent Abuse from within a company's boardroom down there
-
I thought of Lucy Pinder and it got me arrested - how the feck did it know I was thinking THAT?
-
OK the Stats. Taking out the bad start, since then you argue that we have averaged 2 points per game. Looking over an entire season, averaging 2 points per game would give us 92 points. Leicester were Champions last season with 96 points 92 points would put us in last years automatic promotion spot, 3 points ahead of Peterborough. The average points gained this season is promotion form. Unfortunately it is not promotion form for THIS season. Nobody will win the argument as it all depends on whether you were wildly optimisitic about our chances, became wildly optimistic or are just enjoying having a winning season for a change
-
Oh I don't know about that.... After all we may want to rent it for a few months while St Mary's is being extended to hold 45,000 After all we are hosting World Cup matches at SMS (even IF it is egg chasing)
-
http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=188904 Well worded
-
Oh really? You watch - this week - Storrie teller saying we need the fans to help save the club. Buy a Season Ticket for next season before 1st March for only 20% more than this year's ticket and we can survive, we have the best fans in the world, you can do it!

Am still here and still PMSL... Cop car tried to "avoid a traffic light queue" by running across sand and putting on his siren. The GF had parked the car outside work in a parking spot. The Cop thought he could get through an imaginary gap hit a kerb stone jumped up and ran his 3 week old BMW 5 Series along the front of my bumper. Turns out the message was garbled MY car had it's number plate ripped off. The Beemer is ripped open like a tin of Sardines - it's totalled I get there all ready to ggrrhhh to find three cop cars already and they all loling. Luckily my self preservation training kicked in - (NEVER have a temper tantrum with a bloke who has a GUN) and I just cracked up as well. They'd already done the Green Slip and whacked the cop with three fines worth about Aed 1500 (250 quid). The cop doing the paperwork was a Gooner - he spotted my Saints Polo and said ha- You Southampton - you should have won last week, but you very happy about the Portsmouth No? We still laugh of Al Fahim, very funny. I returned the compliment by saying how unlucky they were to get a dodgy ref (didn't want to push me luck and mention Fabianski) So all set for the afternoon listening on line

Well, with the Telegraph & The Grauniad articles today we seem to now be down to two plans. Both need time - tick tock (well there is a surprise) An unknown South African Consortium Hanging on for the next tranche of TV money & then parachute payments (coupled with the premium rate sale of their world class squad So, despite ALL the smoke and mirrors, in reality over the past weeks NOTHING has actually changed for the better, it simply gets a bigger bill. Can they find someone who needs a shed load of Corporation Tax losses? Someone who needs a new passport/residence visa for the UK? In commercial business terms this looks about as bad as MY FECKING CAR Cannot BELIEVE a fecking COP CAR with siren on just jumped off the road flew through the air and smashed my FECKING CAR. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH If I'm not back for the game you know I may have said the wrong words

Totally spot on. Lambert is double teamed and so many of his goals have to come from set pieces. The set-up of the squad is such that even IF we get a free player into the box they do not have the composure, the experience or the sheer instinct to bury the ball. (For example I give you Waigo & Lallana in the cup game). It needs that second forward OR in a 4-5-1 it needs the wise® head of the AM. Lambert is having a wonderful season, but he won't get us in the play-offs on his own. We miss Connelly and Barnard will need time to adjust to new styles and new team mates. As for the 4-5-1, 4-4-2 debate, a great deal of the effect of both those systems was that we could change our pattern of play. At this level that change alone is often enough to disrupt the opposition. Again, losing Connelly lost us the impact of that change. Waigo, Barnard and others will no doubt develop into good partners for Lambert. Barnard SHOULD do it quicker as he is older, Waigo SHOULD eventually be more effective because of his pace. Connolly "clicked" with Lambert so much quicker as he is older, more experienced and has played at higher levels where tweaks and changes are much more common. At this level we need two regular goal scorers, that's why Norwich are better than us and that is what AP tried to change in the window. Would we have drawn so many games with a fit Connolly? is as valid a question to ask as it is to slag off AP as not being up to it. Both could be VERY valid reasons we draw too much

Now now, you know better than to kick a fish when it's down
-
Yep. Surprised nobody commented on it - the first printed confirmation that an entire day of speculation and outrage on here caused the EPL to change their tune..... Oh I see what I did there
-
Krap - I thought I had a picture of this week's owners box dammit, back to photoshop
-
Meanwhile Peter Storrie continues to deny that the problems affecting the club are having an impact on it's attendances and that the drop in matchday revenues could have a detrimental effect on the takeover prospects of the club

Twas the Dubai Saints Southampton Flag. The upper tier had adverts and when I hung the flag I got not just the local security guys but also the cops around in double quick time as it covered advertising. They were allowed to be hung at the opposite end of the stadium to us lower level but of course we couldn't get to that. Saw an Oxford City Sussex Fans flag - WTF? I did toy with wearing my old Saints shirt - trouble is I foolishly had Pele on the back of it so I went for the souvenir England WC 2007 T shirt & Barmy Army Baseball Cap. The GF only came on the promise she didn't have to sit surrounded by "taxi Drivers" - and to be fair in a muslim country a Blonde in the crowd is a whole different set of problems. Even THOUGH I told her a dozen times she still dressed in shorts.... Great idea honey...... Still, she won't make that mistake next time! In fact the seats were great, right on top of the Pakistani Dressing room. Big lolage - 3 "Fat spoilt Pakistani fan teenage Brats sitting behind us - one of them just talked SUCH drivel.... We will make 160 you will see we will get 9 sixers in a row trust me I spoke to the players come I will take you down there now that's right get Pietersen off strike Morgan he is rubbish who is he he cannot even hit a ball........ Agree, Allott is awful - TV rights probably belong to TenSports a local cricket channel, no one else will likely employ him! Hope none of the run outs were really close as they only had one camera at the side of the pitch and that was at midwicket, sure wasn't square on! Nice to see ads at the Stadium for our new "Ambassador" and resident - Freddie - is hosting a golf & family evening picnic event to raise funds for Haiti next weekend Oh, another strangely - there were about 40 young girls in the stadium - clearly some sort of school outing all in yellow and blue Polo shirts - and waving WELSH flags. Also a Yarpie in his green rugby top - jeez those idiots are such stereotypes
-
Mars Bar abuse. Having your own players between the sticks. Bloody good job the Skates won't get out of this mess and we can wind this thread up. The detective work needed on the Forum match thread is going to be taking up a whole new channel Sorry Challenge

Must have been something good on telly - no posts for half an hour then a big rush just after 9pm :-) Or were you all listening to TCWTB on 5-Live....
