Politicians?

Oh do behave this was supposed to be a friendly chat. Some people have the role of moaners and some have the role of story tellers. I didn't choose it, just came out that way. Anyway, happy to discuss any proof you need to see of any of the weird moments this stupid soul-less city allows you to have IF you get up and seek them out. meanwhile just to step out of my balanced character for a moment, case proven I believe peeps

We have our hero Who is booked for a great day out We don't want to impose on his big day, so maybe we can have a decent fight and then beg him to ask one question on our behalf, The most important question (which doesn't have the answer 42) So I thought 1) Could Murty come on here and just tell us what they do in a typical day at training and how the players here last year compare the two experiences alternatively 2) Anthony Pulis. Why? ideas?

Stuck it in a different context on the main forum in meerkats ad thread but thought it worth a more expansive yak Many will have noticed that I seem to collect really crazy moments in life. Blagging tickets for World Cups or knowing all about Al Fahim at exactly the right moment. I never win anything on the lottery when I'm back but everyone calls me a lucky bstd all the time. I never thought much about it, I put it down to the old "the more I practice the luckier I get" adage or the fact that probably my only skill in life is observation. But then I saw this. Somehow the moment I read it I thought of you lot on here. Somehow I can just picture the "perma-moaners" living their lives without every actually being "lucky" ie in the right place at the right time. We all know about the mental side of keeping players minds focused, maybe we should to... But for fun, I wonder who on this forum is never very lucky... I can think of oh, one or 19 Anyone else? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/3304496/Be-lucky---its-an-easy-skill-to-learn.html

Now, here's something that seems completely unrelated at first but actually sums up this whole argument with an actual Scientific Study..... Sort of So we have the those who are generally positives and we have those who are generally negatives on most topics. We banter and b1tch and argue and nobody seems to change their point of view. And yet here is a research project that shows something - the positives have a different mindset - well we know that from here. But finally we understand that the negatives will never listen, they'll just keep calling us lot "Lucky B@stards" Anyway I found it relevant to the forum, this argument and of course life in general. Take the happy moments guys http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/3304496/Be-lucky---its-an-easy-skill-to-learn.html

Having amassed over 250,000 air miles per year for about 10 years because of business, I can tell you there is only ONE way to determine a GOOD flight. Did it land? Anything else between leaving home and getting back again is down to luck and a bunch of people you never met. And the quality/cost of the Cabernet Sauvignon on board or how good a book you take with you

Jeez, what a weird 24 hours. Watched Goldfinger last night... Then today we get 3 calls in for our new biz and like we're swamped already. Then I win the shirt Then get raided by Dubai Police.... Looking for the evil genius mastermind behind a major Gold Heist from a Jewellers in Dubai - FFS I said it was last night and it was Fort Knox... Anyway I let em in, we had a couple of beers, talked about football (they never heard of Al whotsit at Sk8tes either...) But oh we DID share a giggle about Sultan Bin Trump.. Funny they'd heard that nickname as well! Anyway, turns out it's a Sri Lankan Maid Mafia thing, our maid knew a maid who knew a maid who got nicked for stealing a 20 quid necklace and they were trying to track down her boss who it seems may send more than one maid out to do this.. All good fun. All I need now is an airfreight shipment of Valium to calm down.... And why is it that 2 minutes after they leave his brother turns up trying to sell me carpets? He didn't understand the joke when I said I didn't want carpets but did he have any football clubs for sale...? Phew. Need beer... Lots Thunderball tonight -

Well, I sure as heck ain't ever gonna be able to WEAR it! What size is it XS?? Luckily I have a gap on my wall in my office that i was gonna put a 6x10 holiday snap, should just fit in there I expect... And it'll cost me a truckload of airmiles to collect it:-) Train photo, now there's an idea wonder where that went.... Next project when work gets quieter, could be a hoot:p Thanks Granty, can you stick the 2nd DVD in with it? -
It would be really bad to ask if you were referring to the player in the thread title or were commenting on more recent sad events in Majorca.. So I won't

Ah ha so THAT makes things VERY different.. Yep a NEW fight can start. Do we let a negative or a happy clappy win? Could they harm/enhance team morale? As the winner is representing the forum shouldn't we have a poll to see what two key questions they should get answers to from as many players as possible? -

As sponsors, do we get the rights to a sell-on clause or a percentage of any loan fee? oops sorry did it again there, slipped back into last season irony mode... Good luck to all with the draw. Strangely of all the weeks I've had being on here, next week I am really working my butt off in Dubai (for a change) -
Having one for your personal use is great. But if you work in a large corporation and you are given one then your life ends. They are a disaster. The term Crackberry is very real, you may not be addicted but if you have one and don't reply to your boss's email instantly your career is ruined. People having to do emails for work at weekends in the theatre. Having dinner - sorry darling must do this. you actually switch off from the outside world. Two guys stayed with me for the Rugby 7's actually missed an England game as they were doing emails, they totally take you away from REAL life with that little blinking light. You find yourself WAITING for it to BLINK FFS! So yes useful for personal use but BOY would I like to meet the A**hole who decided Corporate Managers should be available 24/7. Got rid of mine when I left and would NEVER have another, Horrific nightmare times

Actually DP The Blag! I stayed well away from the property malarky Was asked in a Radio interview relating to work how I got this sort of stuff happening, it is about Attitude and Creativity meeting Opportunity. You advertise in an IT magazine, they have an event you mention that you're a strong supporter of them and push their message and bingo you get invited to the party. You get to the party you think "Be Corporate" or you Network, simples Meanwhile Merovingaroundian. The clock ticks. the good news is that it still ticks so speculation is futile, but with the best will in the world and superhuman efforts from Paul Hart, it cannot help the team motivation and focus in the run up to games, just look at James letting the world know he wants to go to Spuds... It is all a chinese water torture that east away at your soul... We know we had it for years Which is why I repeat somebody HAS to answer the questions PDQ

That would be correct and a touch humourous except for one critical issue... "Less well off" countries spend a lot of time and money training their health care professionals only to lose them to Europe for what are actually far higher salaries than they coudl get at home. 4 pound an hour is a lot of money compared to the salaries a Filipono nurse could earn at home, even IF she is just cleaning the place. Down here we had real problems a few years back with staff shortages at hospitals especially in critical care units. They'd all gone over there.... which rather screwed the tourists up when they used to all come over here....

I got some bad news for you..... You could just be the first poster on here who hasn't ****ging Lucy Pinder In the back of the Aston (bit squashed though) In their dreams of course But this is football, who can tell what may happen in the future when money is involved Spookily James Bond being shown from start to finish here ATM Goldfinger tonight with the Aston was on Pussy Galore, just like Rock Bottom in the old days! But I agree with you of course on the WHU was using it as an example

Yep he buys me a beer everytime he comes down for the Desert Classic. Anyone who does that achieves greatness in my eyes OK OK I'll fook off back to the main forum and stop name dropping

Ahhh Sports Personality of the Year, another DP blag... Seriously - business partners in Pakistan were all into cricket so booked a box at Lahore for 2 one dayers in 2005. Did the whole watching the game thing. Stayed at the Pearl Continental Hotel Atrium wing - one of the great hotels in the world but the only one in Lahore without ****roaches. On the day of the prog was chatting with a bloke in the lobby (he took my Barmy Army Polo Shirt to get the team to sign) and he told me to be back down at something like 2am for a surprise party. Went down to the lobby, sure enough got taken to one of the ballrooms and given a chair with about 30 other journos and the team and some cameras And in walks Freddie to collect his prize. The ONLY downside was they wouldn't allow phones or cameras in but it WAS priceless. Interestingly, the game started at 9am the next day and we were sh1t... So this year? Tough call. Big Dave Watson for his contribution to the forum match after he came on as a sub? Nickh for nearly taking defeat so graciously? Stevegrant for nearly sending out both DVD's? Otherwise murray or Button depending on results best youngster - if being 20 ish counts then will be Rory McIlroy

Oh and yes of course DP is a Gliterati, but seeing as I was a backing dancer for JKay on the bar at his launch party, and have seen Aerosmith and the GF won't let Beyonce come round for coffee after the show, I'm just getting my freebie VIP's for KoL. Can't be arsed with the GP freebies - it is Sooooooooooooo boring (well actually I had corp tickets but can't get a hotel room and a taxi home is over hundred quid so I'll be watching with arabic commentary from the sofa.) (Oh the J Kay thing - it was a lousy job, but someone had to do it. Free Vodka Red Bulls helped but the photo in the IT press didn't do my career any harm at all!)

Hmmm This says one word at the beginning - PINNACLE. This says he doesn't have enough money - Oh Look, ANOTHER Al Fahim? The only Gulf Arab Nation who do business with Israelis (albeit very quietly) is Qatar. Now rumours still persist that they are the backers of Munto Finance, nice one for the PL there. They could of course be Egyptian or Jordanian who DO carry on business -to you lot it's all one place after all. Al Faraj if he is a not very high up businessman would not in fact have an issue dealing with Israelis. If he was a serious player then the politics comes into it...... Other "Royal Families" have "allegedly" looked into clubs publicly and privately. On every occassion there is one of two criteria - Branding or Value Add. When you recall that this area did not exist per se before the end of the 60's when "We Brits" withdrew from East of Aden (look up history books) cannot see how a club with their main history when this place was called The Trucial States has much Branding option. Value Add? Tough one, biggest value add hook down here is Property. These boys only got into it about 8 years ago - one meeting I had on a "related subject I asked why don't Arabs buy Saints - it was too small a deal, but if it could have been a US$1bliion deal with property well.... was the answer (trust me, I could draw up plans for a $1billion stadium faster than you could say Fialka! - let's go - sadly didn't work ... Don't see that YET in Fratton railyards hmm where the quote let's itself down a little - anyone ever been to Monte Carlo? Seen the Yacht always there? Abu Dhabi don't show off their wealth, lol - anyone looked up the F1 GP next month - seen the investment cost? Seen who they have coming to play FREE gigis for the gliterati? (Jamiroquai, Beyonce, Kings of Leon & Aerosmith") How about the Louvre Museum, Guggenheim etc - no they don't show it off - oh and then they already have a train set. Anyway, am really busy this week, our new company got a huge boost this week and we're gonna be meeting a lot of movers and shakers at the tops of the tree at a Trade Show next week. Don't worry I'll be asking. Meanwhile, these snippets show the problems with "Consortiums" They want to dump their money in the kitty FORST and give it to someone to run with it - great, otherwise....hmm Sunderland seem ok with it but others... How's Carsten getting on with his deal

Perhaps we should have new definitions Concern Criticism Constructive Criticism That may balance the who falls where argument. You can actually be seen as an anti while giving constructive advice/critcism = eg Pardew you idiot, all of us can see the team is unbalanced down the left had side, DO SOMETHING. Which is actually sentiment wise what I said after the Brizzle game. I am concerned that AP took the job when I felt WGS was a better choice - in English paper speak that reads as DP doesn't want Pardew ergo DP says Pardew out (which it doesn't) Alps is getting beaten up because he just puts his opinion into one of those 3 contexts in a different way to the rest of us. The key one is the blind cirticism which then gets linked to a daft statement. Charlton say AP was Karp so he should be gone by Christmas. That just doesn't actually merit even reading, it is either one of our Academy fans (ie a 14 year old Yoof) being well ard or, well you've all met them... So, AP could be gone by Christmas. yes I agree. Two scenarios 1) We really do improve and West Ham or Fulham come begging with a nice package and war chest 2) We do lose the plot, get torn apart every week down the left and nothing happens to stop it and our results and improvement flounder. So I agree with the possibility, doesn't make me a Happy Clappy or a Manic Depressive, just a realist. PERSONALLY. This is our best run for 3 years and we can see the work that has gone into it. You know, after 6 years of pain, I'm HAPPY with it, I'm ENJOYING it. I'm living for the moment (while watching for signs of complacency). WHY? Because it will not last forever and anyone who doesn't enjoy the ride may be missing the best bit of our time with Saints for 25 odd years. Now THAT would be stupid.
-
Only the lucky ones... In many ways will be good if the nawty boys go on cheapo trips. They ain't gonna be coming back It is possible to do it but it needs planning and almost military style logisitcs planning to get around. Ain't one for bus rides and hitch-hiking
