Well, if that Reflex place is your version of a club then you are one lucky SOB for missing out. Would have preferred the kebab.

Could be interesting day tomorrow, at least we can listen to test Match Special on line while waiting by the PC for something to happen Good night all, sleep well

Alignment is the problem, take a leaf out of MLT's book and worry first about Fry accepting A bid, then worry if the one you know about needs any help, that way you can support saving the club rather than a possible Lowe clone who pops out and says SURPRISE at some later date from the moneymen side Another point though, I made reference to hitting a moving target, from what I have observed on here the past 9 days it seems as if getting the deal done is actually a bit like being strapped blindfolded onto a skateboard, pushed down a hill and trying to hit a bullseye 2 inches wide going the other way without any bells on. I'll stay worried if that's ok

Don't be silly It'll be Friday soon

yeah specially the others who didn't get a bat........

We noticed, we just turned into Diana Ross Still waiting hoping worrying

Hot news from TMS Apparently you get wobbly balls when overseas. You get tensed up and don't want the balls to come to you. Bless dear old Alec Stewart Nothing else seems to be happening. Oh and in answer to a previous question, yes we do have maids, however some of us draw the line at expecting them to use their teeth on tough *****ly bushes so to speak
-
Ah - do you have some of those I could borrow? One of my Bougainvillea bushes has been blown down in a sand storm and I can't find any of those cutting thingies anywhere here
-
no, I really bored them to death. I was the not out opening bat watching proceedings from the non-strikers end. It was against the evil "Up the Valley" rival village It was a seriously damp and slow pudding of a pitch. I stuck my head down and made Chris Tavare look like a Twenty20 player. 32 not out in 50+ overs of Village Cricket. Our umpire was trying to get someone to call Lords to see if a law existed to give me out for being boring. (In the days before mobiles of course. Bloke the other end squeezed his way to 50 not out and we finished on 80 something for 4. Oh how they all moaned over tea And how I smirked when we bowled them out for exactly 31

Reminds me of a game of cricket I flew back for one weekend some years ago.... Howzat Dad? yep That's out son. 0 for 4 wickets after the first over and not one landed on the cut bit Still they did relent and we eventually bored them to death

I wouldn't be so sure anymore MB... The Friday is Thursday rules are well understood by all regulars, however in recent times we have seen a change in the formula with the addition of the Fry48hours ruling. In much the same way as Duckworth Lewis is applied to rain affected cricket, I think we should now start to apply the Fry48hours factor to our definition of Friday. I have some problems with my advanced calculus theories, but I think that on this basis, Friday now comes out as Donnerstag. HTH

BTF, DD's post is factually incorrect so your response is out of order. Worry about MJ later, at the moment let Fry do A deal
-
 Why did that post make me think of the Titanic
-
This is the biggest worry and i think many have voiced it over recent days. But think of all the rest - nobody could have made any formal agreements with people who could be critical employees. For example, how could Pinnacle have made an offer to Shearer (for eg) when they don't know if they have the club - bringing those people in will take some time if they have that in their plans. The independent lawyers/accountants still have to go through the books - it took Fry's team about a week to produce their sales packs and longer to get their due dilligence data together from what I read. So contractual issues, employment decisions, still a lot of work to be done before the new board can be up and running, every week without decisions on next season's squad means players could be lost HCDAJFU. But it's alright, Fry has to get the best deal for the creditors FIRST That's why we don't like admin.... no control

No IMHO of course regards Morph sort of I think

Arrggghh So English FA to Welsh FA to... Cr@p, this could take longer to do that Rudi's transfer
-
uh - no... A derisory bid was made to swap a dissenting Away Team player for BigDaveWatson our hero. I believe I mentioned that I would require a 22 gallon barrel of 6X delivered by airfreight to even CONSIDER such a bid. At this stage, pending possible retirement before next season by DLT, I would consider the only acceptable bid would be the 650k in fees paid into markfryisme account at the National Bank of Dubai, another Business Class Return ticket but this time on Emirates, the9 and of course Michael Svennson who I feel is the only player likely to be available who would improve our back 4 for next season's rematch. Think that clears the matter up for now
-
Fair points Gemmel Perhaps a response would be that there are two types of people in the world. Those that learn from past mistakes and Rupert Lowe. (not that it will change anyone's opnions of MJ!) Nobody knows who is doing what in each bid. For example is it MJ & Tony Lynam doing all the negotiating when it isn't their money? I would doubt that. I would expect that with something this size there are teams of people involved with specific skills all over the place and no doubt armies of lawyers and accountants have already been used, and no doubt there are some good cop bad cops in all the negotiations. Somebody else mentioned this sort of thing takes a lot of work. Let us simply at this time be grateful for the fact that two groups out of the original 34 have stayed the course and possibly spent a lot of time and their own money to try and save the club. Somehow I don't think that bullsh1t would have got this far, after all the plumbers from the Channel Islands didn't seem to last long. Personally I think FF has a job to do when this is all over by talking to the parties to tell us the story of what was really involved from beginning to end, could become a best seller as a management text book.... If we get saved of course
-
Hmm here's one possible one - Deciding to try and fight the "Let's go Wilde" takeover.... Sure he was way past his stay by date then and I stood up at that Ipswich game like everyone else, BUT... As the forum loves it's "what if's"... What MIGHT have happened if Leon had chosen to side with Lowe and work to change things in a less revolutionary way. There is no doubt that his kicking out was flawed - he managed to come back, but what IF he had talked the "wavering Crouch" around..? (FWIW I still think it would have ended in tears, but maybe not quite so calamatously)

well beats dodgy arms dealers in some areas I guess

Right, I got in touch with the FA. They told me because I am a Brit but being overseas I needed to talk to UEFA I talked to UEFA, they told me the shocking news that the UAE is in Asia, not Europe I contacted the UAE FA they told me habbla habbla shukran. On that basis, I'm afraid that the on-off transfer of the9 has hit a red tape snag before we even get started. Apparently the UAE FA cannot sanction a transfer until the club holding his player registration submits it to the English FA for validation. When they have validated it, it should be passed to UEFA who will validate it. When that is done, the UAE FA will examine the documents to check whether they are genuine. They will then return the documents to UEFA because they will have missed out stamping the reverse side of every copy with Michel Platini's signature. They will return it to the English FA as they have omitted to include details of the current tier of English Football that "The Away Team" currently play in. There will then follow the need to pay a security deposit, submit 4 passport photos of the board members, and a copy of the Board resolution confirming that nickh is the authorised signatory on such issues. These documents will then be submitted to the English FA for validation etc etc etc. I have been informed that the agents handling this matter will be the legal representatives of the venue of the match. As such, Begbies Traynor will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the paperwork and that their estimated fees, payable in advance will be in the region of 650k. I contacted Mark Fry with regards to negotiating the fees figure and he informed me that he was expecting another bid. Nick - once you get this lot done and we are in a position to negotiate, I am willing to listen to any sensible offers in a cash plus player swap for the immortal bigdavewatson. However, I must warn you in advance that a Brown Paper bag will not be big enough for the size of the bung required that keeps the beer in the 22 gallon Barrel of 6X that I will require delivered by airfreight to my front door before I even BEGIN to start discussions on the price HTH
