Well spotted. Interesting that some are showing emotional maturity levels similar to those exhibited by their supposed nemesis on here. Bet they threw stones as well when they were kids, bloody good job we're not being saved by some really evil people like a Banker, an MP or heaven forbid some Johnny Foreigner But it's ok we can change the rules of capitalism and reality and establsih the world's first "we'll find someone we can approve of next month" football club. Guys, opinions are one thing, but if you feel so strongly go away and find somebody else or go form AFC SFC 2009. But take the juvenile attempts at accusing somebody of being a paedophile back into whatever hole in the ground you have come from.

Marc Jackson consortium has moved to due diligence.
dubai_phil replied to derry's topic in The Saints
Plenty of theories, no facts The story seemed to be an issue with Pinnacle that one of the backers may have pulled out. The mystery overseas bidder could have been real, or it could have been a negotiating tactic. Provided that ONE of the 34 NDA's was from overseas, then Fry would not have been inaccurate by saying he was waiting for a bid from them Maybe this soultion was the result of lengthy negotiations as both parties realised that it was an impenetrable barrier to moving forwards for both sides that threatened ANY deal DD costs money. It may be that Pinnacle did not want to risk that money without the "safety-net" that comes with a period of "exclusivity". In such a period, the Administrator can continue to talk to other interested parties but cannot accept their bids. The only person who will know will be Fry. Seeing as the wording in the Echo article is "understood to have been given the green light", it is hard to verify where it would have come from. Logic would dictate that as the consortium are taking a risk, they have little to gain from publication of their solution to this problem. My money is on a leak from the Fry side, so perhaps the Echo should ask him those questions -
Fridays are dead, The new Friday is now officially Saturday Nearly, almost sort of well maybe http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4390966.Step_forward_for_Saints_bidder/

It isn't just about "not liking what you see", the critical issue is as others have said, the initial figures supplied by the administrator come with "no guarantee" in other words, if they had missed something critical and landed a bidder with costs that they had not budgetted for in their planning for the club, it could have a serious impact on the ability to move ahead. At least it now seems that by allowing the books to be examined by their own independent professionals before paying a deposit, that risk can be removed. Seems like a sensible move by both parties, the DD will cost a significant sum in fees and so it seems that a compromise is wise. This way, Fry still has an option should his "mysterious overseas bidder" come marching in. -
Times have changed. It used to be that drink driving was "about getting away with it". Nowadays people understand much better why those rules exist. Circumstances can sometimes transpire where a mistake or error of judgement can be made or some form of emergency exists, but on almost every occassion, Drink Driving is about stupid egotistical decision making. Taxis, buses, trains and nowadays, Premier Inns exist. If circumstances catch you out there is always an option that would cost you no more than 60 quid and some inconvenience. But no, many DD's still don't think like that, they are "OK after a few". DD is as Weston shows idiotic, moronic and downright plain anti-social. It is a mental attitude issue, mainly about not realising how your own actions could impact upon other people's lives, or let's say - arrogance. As to whether being idiotic, moronic or downright plain anti-social should impact on how a persons performance on a football field should be interpreted or remembered, well, that's a different argument altogether. Out of the thousands of professional footballers in the leagues, how many of them are truly "without flaws"? DD is wrong and the penalties for causing harm to another human being are too soft, luckily, even with a good excuse, the law still stays the same

2010 Forum match at SMS - Pre Match Build UP
dubai_phil replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
You forget, Lowe's gone, nickh & I will be around for years... And as for those wannbees... Entry qualification starts on presentation of your "I completed the London Marathon" in less than a day certifcate, after that you will be sent for a trial match, probably on the side of Ben Nevis, kicking uphill in the SECOND half in October playing in skins. If you get through that you MAY get invited to the training camp at the Rugby 7's in Dubai in November. Then, and only then we may consider the Brown paper bag in the SMS car park to allow you the option to pay Granty the match fee DLT, Hamster, Granty & BigDaveWatson are true Saints Legends. Gonna take a lot to kick them out the team -
No apology needed mate.

Dyer away DMG rumoured Contracts ending Better start the summer training regimes now guys - with the few retirements we still have a squad of around 26 players for next season, you're all experienced, work on the stamina and some tippy tappy games in training with some Bullfrogs in Norway and we'll walk those 10 points Meanwhile DMG will be a very good player for us used in an English formation alongside a proper target man. As for BWP = We will be a League 1 team that will need to win a lot of games to get first safe and then into contention. We won't have time to wait for him to get back onside every week.
-
Fans want to see results first then "good performances" (at least reading the thousands of pages about our early season JP-led style not getting anywhere before it all fell apart) Fans come away from winning happy, they come away from defeats grumbling, so to get them to make the excuse in their weekend to make the trip they need to be happier than grumpier. So it's what happens on the pitch that will determine the crowds. A winning team at home who lose or occassionally draw away may not make a top half but would have better home crowds than one which does the reverse. Fans don't make the effort to watch cr*p. Hopefully a manager and a squad can be put together that plays football and wins at SMS. Then the crowds will take care of themselves. My one idea I'd put up would be if we expect lower gates in L1, why don't we cover the back 5 or 10 rows around the Chapel/Kingsland and even ends of the Itchen and instead open the corners all the way around. Makes the crowd look and feel bigger and gives the vocal majority what they want. (although means a bit more stewards needed)

Well, Fridays ARE Karaoke night - maybe we'll get you up to sing that next time!

Bob Nail on the head in some ways. His previous is how he would have made some of his contacts, but is also of course what causes EVERYONE the most concern. Without that disasterous balls-up he may not have had any idea what to do or how to start, and yet we are all concerned about his performance in being able to deliver. At least this time there have been no (proper) public boasts. The only comment I would make on your last line is that there are two types of people in this world, the Rupert Lowes, and those that listen and learn from their and others' mistakes. Rupert (and others) ain't coming back so hopefully that leaves wiser people around like Stuart. This is not perfect, but unless anyone else has the phone number for John Wayne and the 7th Cavalry, it's gonna have to be made to work by a lot more than just one person with a facebook account

:rolleyes::rolleyes: would about sum it up then. ref some other comments, as I mentioned, I stayed with friends who know Fry. The cost of failing to save the club for the fans/creditors will be an important factor, but more so would be what he perceives to be the damage to his career, lifestyle and personal standing in the industry. While that may be a concern to some, it is also a useful piece of intelligence for those tasked with not blinking, and a strong motivation for him to actually go the extra mile to achieve a satisfactory outcome. The other point, this is not about the money alone. Simply put, as Clapham tried so well so often, there is a process in this, each step along the way is fraught with difficulties. Even before a consortium can finally pay over any money, armies of lawyers and accountants have to be involved, as you pass each step of the process, so the workload and the cost increases. Reaching a final stage of Due Dilligence to ensure that the data supplied by the Administrator is accurate will have run up a lot of costs. The final 10 days or so of DD before any completion could incur anything up towards 100k in costs and will have highly paid people working overtime in a rush to get things done. Getting each part to come together and to allocate the time, money and resources at each step is another round of meetings and calls. You obviously set budgets at the beginning and "a roadmap" with "key performance indicators" but then even when one part is agreed you still have to place contracts with the lawyers etc who have to be able to drop other critical work in order to meet the timelines involved.

STill at least tomorrow is Friday....
dubai_phil replied to Made in Southampton's topic in The Saints
At last final proof that Friday is not Friday. According to the thread title, tomorrow is Friday, see I TOLD you so, now it is proven, Friday is in fact Saturday... Which will become Sunday, then Bank Holiday Monday etc etc etc -
Interesting point, would have to be A N Other all the way down to the BS Conference though Now that will be messy

No And for the record, have posted many times, Dubai is technically bankrupt. It makes the sub-prime market seem like a good investment or Brit MP's seem honest. Exact figures are hard to find, but with the number of expats down here diluting the number of locals in the population, the debt of Dubai ALONE works out at between 60 and 100 MILLION yes that's MILLION dollars per Emirati passport holder. (oh how we laughed) Other points of note. BTF - yes, well spotted. Bullfrogs warranted their own article in the Daily Mail (that bastion of literary standards) about 6 years ago. Apparently only magically Salz is left and ready to speak to Fry and he hasn't got enough money. That's a great plan, let's wait for him to buy us for a pound and get another 15 points deduction next year. If he was such a hero and so well connected how come 1) he hasn't got enough money and 2) he hasn't found somebody with ENOUGH money (yet) after what, 2 years of trying? As no-one else seems to be around how do we sign up for L1 next year or issue Season Tickets or negotiate a new contract with KD or shall we wait until September? Shall we do a Leon and gamble that a buyer will be along in the next 6 months? As many have pointed out MJ has no money, only BS. Just ask yourself how he would get past Fry on BS alone. Knocking him is fair game, because of his over eager stupidity in the past, but in the same breath, by association, you are accusing Fry of being an idiot for not spotting he has any substance alongside him. This is the same Fry that many posted in praise of on the appreciation thread. So, if MJ is completely full of it, then so is Fry for giving him the time of day, unless of course, MJ is just the guy who led a horse to water and along with others is trying to make him drink. Does anyone REALLY think that Fry spends every minute of every day being "distracted" by MJ? Fry is not the only one working at SMS, BT have a whole TEAM of PROFESSIONALS on the project. There are so many difficulties in the negotiation phase of admin that anything can go wrong, and cause an interested party to walk away. Everyday another problem comes up, it has taken us around 5 weeks for 34 parties to get whittled down to one stubborn bloody minded supposed buffoon being left in the game. Doesn' that SCARE you? Could it be we're in such a mess that the only thing that will get us out of it is bloody mindedness? but it's ok, about 1500 out of at least 200,000 Saints fans around the world will be able to go and watch Eastleigh next season. Where's the BL**DY cavalry? Anyone else around trying to actually HELP? When admin came, and some celebrated the (final) removal of Lowe, many pointed out that we lost all control over our destiny. Perhaps I'll mail MJ this morning and tell him to walk away in case he cannot pull it off, because a number of posters read about him and don't like him.

Good to know that there is a safety net. Wonder how long ago he set that up, and why wait until now to let us know? Strange trying to analyse late at night and put pieces together Not enough money - what for an uberfan expert in the City? Leaks and stories about the council His best mate bailing us out Good work guys, could have saved us a few months of hell, or were they causght by surprise that people actually made bids? Oh dear Salz v MLT wouldn't have gone down well, but as Pinnacle fade Salz rises. As I've repeatedly said, I hope there is a safety net and I hope this can be one, doesn't stop me feeling a little uneasy, especially as the BT press releases say THEY were inviting bids from day one. If Fry doesn't get his full amount then he must admin the SFC Ltd (is how I read things) which gives us minus 25, helluva risky strategy but at least we are safe for one season in L1 and may actually stay up with a good manager

What about 'lifelongsaint' then ? Jacksons behaviour on this forum and indeed the bournemouth fans forum make him out to be a right tosser. Claims of him being a Saints fan, disgust me. Not such a good point not so well made 15-all You haven't read the threads he is not a right tosser, he is a right w****r. Meanwhile, he's the only w*****r we have
-
Whereas MJ did his talking on his Facebook profile. Good point, well made, 15 - love. Meanwhile we inch along
-
So you are saying that a photo of MJ & SG at the Forum match would be worth some money??? Hmmmm Well if it's like that then I am sure the Echo Journos who read this site for tomorrow's headlines would like to contact me via PM, but be quick I'd LOVE to get back for the SaintsAid weekend, so let's start the bidding at return First Class on Emirates Hell we could even do an interview with them - The talk in the bar, the inside story. better make that two tickets so you can get down here for the Rugby 7's or the Race to Dubai Golf
-
Which would explain why out of the "34" there are now one and a maybe, that don't quite add up to a wing and a prayer but we still hope they will
-
Nothing at all. I was referring to some of the digs at MJ and previous comments.

Frank From what we were told on 7th there have been hitches on an almost hourly basis, I have no doubts that is still the case, and I would guess that the same has happened with Pinnacle who I still hope can get back into the game, but at least they are showing some fighting spirit and thick skins to be still trying. As for goalposts, yes they do move, simply because the situation is fluid, it has to be, as time moves so things change, when the porcess started we were playing football and had attendances paying ticket money, one big goalpost change was the loss of the Legends game, when it was originally thought up it was hoped the fans would respond. Unfortunately it didn't work out very well as we know, that change of circumstances changed the money that Fry could expect to come in to keep the business running. Blindfolded rolling downhill on a skateboard trying to hit a moving target, the line used back in the pub on that evening, not an excuse, just a statement of what it seemed to be like

I asked that question this morning at 10:06 your time on IM as it did not seem in keeping with their strategy so far The answer was very specific and the best way to avoid the swear filter is to type where the frack did they get that from? and re-iterate, at that time he said Stuart Green has so far made one public statement and nothing else has come out. FWIW I also asked how it was going and what the difficulties being faced by all parties in the negotiations appears to be and I received "You know I can't tell you but basically ***** ***** ** ******* *** feck frack feck (although tbf the spelling wasn't as good as my retyping of it ) So it's stressful and they are worried there is no safety net and has anyone else got any great ideas to help? Or should I just tell him to forget it in case it goes wrong again when I next catch him online?
-
You obviously don't read many other posts, (but then there are so many threads these days) but as you asked Nickh below your post - you know this as fact do you?
