  1. May be getting Guinness in the concourse bars peeps, wish I hadn't been at the movies or I'd have beaten Channon8 with the scoop!
  2. It seems like good news, the the input I had (which isn't from my usual source) they seem to have made a deposit but they may still be going over the wording of contracts. Don't celebrate yet, minefileds will still have to be negotiated, the cavalry could be coming
  3. http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/posted-homes/archive/2009/03/24/celebrities-lose-in-dubai-real-estate.aspx May not have any money left. Keep telling you guys things are bad down here.... Prices fallen by 40% since the start of the year. On these figures he'd have lost $17mil. Mind you if you google Rod Stewart & the World Dubai, there is never any confirmation that he actually bought the UK..... Hmmm unconfirmed rumours again. Hell he IS buying us YIPPEE
  4. Oh if it was only that easy..... Don't forget our internet access is censored for sensitive political/cultural issues etc. Allegedly a system used to be available that worked with web sites giving the codes and connecting to a sat decoder which gave access to around 2,000 channels, but they block the web sites... And then well, then there is the good old bandwidth issue....
  5. Somebody has to make the tea....
  6. No idea. And I'm not spokesperson, I know the Lowe answer because I asked Stuart & MJ that same question, a LOT. Stuart spoke to MW once or twice - hope that means he isn't behind the bid Stuart spoke to LC once or twice - hope that means he isn't behind the bid What I would be more worried about, (on top of the other things I worry about) is Lowe knowing stuff that allowed him to do something outside the admin process. Buying the stadium and becoming landlord or something equally horrific. Because like I keep saying this whole thing is a horrid mess and full of danger
  7. Anyone know if Stewart actually went through with his intended plan to buy one of the Islands in that "World" development down here? He was supposed to be buying UK or something, but then with the whole property crash down here maybe he pulled out and has some petty cash laying around. Would be great
  8. Well put JS. Like I keep saying, where is the rest of the cavalry? Is there truly no safety net? What happens if they find a problem or it isn't real. Yours Worried of Safa Park
  9. Actually, they did do something like that. The term I heard was "Sales Pack". The issue as has been commented on is that Fry will not "Warranty" that information. This then causes the slight confusion between the first "Due Dilligence" which was probably that info and actually going into micro details.
  10. lmfao, no mate not even close. I'm actually insulted that anyone could think I would give any small amount of help that in anyway allowed HIM back in. Jeez, can you honestly see ANY Saints fan doing that? Good grief Oh and you are very wrong on the comment about Stuart Green Oh, and that person didn't give exclusivity, the people at Seymour Pierce would take issue with that
  11. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/439...k_Saints_sale/ Actually some information in there for a change.... but if everything is supposed to be NDA'd how come the Echo know so much?.... Oh, sorry, it's the Echo isn't it, silly question
  12. err nope..... BBC have "territorial restrictions" which means that for many things, especially Football we almost foreigner types cannot access them.. At least our sat system over here (Showtime) showed SOME L1 games, and regular Championship stuff, hope they got one of the overseas rights packages for next season
  13. There, I changed a glaring typo for you (but in fairness perhaps you should have added "to do with the playing side" but then even that is debatable!)
  14. It's a balancing act. It's all very well AND important having special offers as suggested, but then if you have paid out for an ST and then others get them free or for 60 quid or you keep having reduced prices then the ST holders are less inclined to buy them.... I expect one of the main tasks is to "Add Value" to having an ST. The main value is of course having "your seat" each week, and then avoiding the "hassle" of the ticket office. In the "old days" you needed an ST to guarantee ANY seat. The problem with the "replica shirt" idea is that the club would have to buy them from Umbro. Pretty sure they will not be free, if they cost something like 15 quid each, then the new owners would have to commit say 6,000 shirts at 15 quid before they even start getting the money IN. Then there will be the problem of what sizes do you buy? Would Umbro actually make that number of shirts in addition to the numbers that the Club would expect to sell in a season? What happens if you only sell 3,000 ST's because the fans have given up? How many people would be on the phone/Echo/here complaining that they face a 4 week delay or their shirt was the wrong size?.... Possible, but not easy. The offers will need to reflect some sort of value to the ST holder, the "take a friend for a fiver" type of deals are also good, but then again you have the problem - where does the "friend" sit? An ST holder is likely sitting with people they know anyway and have to then start thinking of where to move to for a game. I am all in favour of doing everything we can to get numbers into the stadium, especially kids as they will be our ST holders of the future once football gets into their blood. But it does need a lot of research and thought, but hopefully the new team will have new ideas and this and other threads from last season contained many really good ideas.
  15. In which case one of two things will obviously happen today Nothing or Barry the Briefcase will turn up at SMS to look at the books. Is it too warm for tanktops? Anyone on Stadium watch?
  16. Way too simplistic So you are a dead set A. Home and away, why, in the old days even Europe. Then you get married and get the shackles put on and there is DIY to do at the weekend so only make a few away and become a B. Then you get Kids and the wife's income has gone and suddenly you struggle to pay the mortgage let alone the cost of getting to a game, so you become a C Then your job takes you away, it's a 400 mile round trip or more, so you become a D. Does that mean you are no longer worthy? What about those thousands of miles and the wind rain and snow of your earlier younger days? Does sitting in the bitter cold and driving snow at The Stadium of Light or Oldham away no longer count? Then maybe, just maybe you become a DINKy, you have to choose between gardening and football every weekend and you find that you have the time and the money to start to move back up the scale again.... The only way to differentiate fans is whether, when you are cut open you bleed Red & White stripes or if you bend your work day/travel/family in order to simply get the latest news, latest gossip, or latest score, OR if you just look for the results. Where you change your entire family holiday touring somewhere like France to find that internet cafe so you can find out the result, or you just wait to try and find an old copy of an English paper in the pile at the back of the Pub in whichever resort you are in.
  17. Well done to Burnley, smallest squad in the CCC. Were you watching Rupert Lowe?
  18. and no doubt tomorrow the B'oro job, then the Newcastle job, then Wenger's replacement, then.... But oh yes, that would be nice, unfinished business and all that.. how much was he on at Celtic?
  19. The sun is fantastic although hit 39C yesterday and not much less today Had a nice afternoon with a quick 9 holes at the Creek and got some revenge for my 8-0 slapping last week by winning 6-2 with one halved and I managed to par both the big par 5's as well, in fact 4 pars in 9 holes - heck may have to start doing this properly. I think nickh is under a lot of pressure. it is very tough being a manager with a 100% losing record, it gets to you, it eats away, I think the fact that he was outdone by a desire to win at all costs attitude has really rattled him. Never underestimate the will to win. I agree with you wholeheartedly about leaving things to the big boys, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they get their effing acts together, BUT if they don't should us fans just say oh well not worth trying? (Of course I could have answered with yeah, them Big Boys didn't do anything that well in the last 4 years, or the other old adage...... Sometimes you need a (s)pratt to catch a mackerel, which you can then use as bait to catch a bigger fish, which as long as you have a nice big net to land it with.....)
  20. lol DP makes a quip at Morph about somebody in SCC maybe got a strange phone call for saying something they shouldn't have done and KK pops up dissing MJ and claiming to work for - yep SCC Couldn't make it up
  21. Verbal - you ask sensible questions hope I have answered them. there's no way I know any detailed informatiion because I am not a signed up member of the group as I've said. My opinion stays the same. Is somebody trying to save the club? Yes, one is following the official process and NDA's that Fry wanted. Pinnacle tried, I did question why they carried out their bid in the media. I did that simply because of track record. How many bids in the media have succeeded for our club? - zero There is no information about how much money or even who is actually IN the MJ group. So we have no actual facts about whether it will take us forward or not? There has not been a single statement. This could be for two reasons - 1) it is all BS or 2) they have learnt some lessons from the past. We also have no actual facts about the investment budget that Salz/Leon/ etc have, let alone the bidders, so again the "they'll have no money to run the club" argument is, at the moment, invalid. Better to ask "What will their budget be?" but actually nobody has done that yet. (oh no idea ok) Again. Do I support the supposed MJ/SG bid? Hell yes, because it is in there, it is on the table and so far they are following the process that the administrator wants, and I STILL don't see anyone else actually BIDDING. Will I support a bloke who's sailing up the Solent to park his yacht under the Itchen Bridge - hell no - not until he actually makes a BID, then hell yes I wait for the facts and the names and the structure of ANY successful owners and their press statements and plans and visions whoever they are. I don't see how sly nudge nundge wink wink popularity contests get us closer to saving the club At least in all my posts I let you all know I worry a lot, and keep trying to point out that it is a very dangerous time.
  22. One for the conspiracy theorists..... So where was Peter Reid yesterday? And where will he be tomorrow and then next weekend Answers 1) Doing our version of Survival Sunday on TV with Rob McAffrey 2) Lands in the UK tomorrow 3) ... nope unfortunately - he's off to Wembley to watch the Cup Final and is really looking forward to it. They yacked about it when they ran out of things to say about how bad Newcastle & Boro were
  23. One they keep repeating down here was one of Bergkamps with the twinkle toes bit in the box
