  1. ;-) No way was I having a dig at Leon, he kept the club running long enough to come out of admin. No argument there. But his loan will have been secured somehow.
  2. What?? As in all 58 players who received payment of wages in some form last season?
  3. Or Leon's loan
  4. The critical issue will be whether Fry insisted (oh sorry- negotiated aggressively) on the sale of the players to "improve" the cash level of a bid OR whether the buyers are doing this as a means of cleaning up the squad and the wage bill for next season. Nobody will really care, but this was an important part of those negotiations. Who gets the cash? If they are being sold this quickly, then there is a good chance that the money is going straight to the creditors. In the Dyer case that was nailed on, it could be that it is one or the other of DMG & Surman. No conspiracies, just the difference between the cost and the price of coming out of the admin period
  5. Cheers - on it.
  6. [-X Don't worry, Dubai NEARLY bought Liverpool and then Charlton, but TRUST me, the guys here have SOME class and would NEVER have bought that lot! ;)
  7. IF we were to acknowledge that it was a mistake NOT to appoint Hoddle all those years ago would you STFU about him? Please?
  8. I actually did make the point it was time to move on in another thread before this came up. Let us hope everything goes to plan and Pinnacle get to the end of the process all primed, planned and ready to go, as I for one would NEVER want a Saints fan to have to make the choice that Benji alluded to! IF his actions caused the cost to Pinnacle to be increased then I will bow my head in shame. However before I do that I would question whether it may simply have helped to actually make one party finally decide what price he could actually accept. For that comment I didn't get anything from MJ. THAT problem, as I posted before came from someone utterly unrelated. My only hope is that like other dirty laundry that some people may hold from "The Old Days", it NEVER comes out again after tonight. Just complete ASAP Tony and let's move on
  9. How did I guess that a member of the blue few would miss irony?
  10. Nah I'm in ecstatic mood tonight Keane are here 1st week of July - proper (if ancient) Brit Guitar(ish) rock band - 1st since Muse last April & I got my tickets today! All I really need to be happy is a Glasto Ticket. Back in registration time I had business issues so couldn't afford the time, things now ahead of plan and can go and of course too effin late
  11. Dear Mods please BAN this poster for starting THE single most horrific ITK rumour in the World EVER arrrggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  12. lmfao But without wishing to be pedantic, I think you actually get a different form if you are moving from employment to overseas. Well at least I did 16 years ago, had all sorts of trouble getting my old employer to change a P45 into a Psomethingelse!
  13. The fans argue on the forum but moan if a DoF would be in place to give an opinion to the manager - mildly ironic. But it's a forum so it's fair. My view who could we BUY for the 1 mil at or below his wages. IF we have an answer that says XYZ is a better player than DMG then take the money on offer. IF we have an answer that says there is nobody who could do the same job as him in League 1 for the same or less money then no, keep him. Personally I think he would be a useful player alongside a PROPER centre forward, but hell what do I know I only listen He is still very young in footballing terms, Ashley Young he ain't but he may be the best we have next year
  14. IT ISN'T FOOKIN DUBAI..... AGAIN - IT IS NOT FOOKIN DUBAI It is like us lot repeatedly saying that MLT played international football for Wales... Abu Dhabi is where those "nice" people come from. Doctor Who came to DUBAI - That's us - Planet of the Dead, he did NOT go to Abu Dhabi where instead of abusing their poor labourers, they torture their camel grain suppliers over a $5,000 bill and get it put onto You-Tube
  15. Yep and it's Abu Dhabi so that means No food or drink sold at all or allowed in the Stadium during Ramadan Meanwhile. Of course they drink more 1) There are so few of them they can get to the bar more often 2) The football is so sh*te they spend more time in the bar Anyway don't worry Al Fahim has bigger worries today lol
  16. And fortunately the backers did not judge him on what they read on the internet, simply on what went on during the actual process. I have no issue with people who use the knowledge they have gained to have an opinion on him or on the legal structure of the consortium and what contracts were in place. It just is annoying when they go from an opinion to a personal attack without having all the facts in place. If it had been necessary to do the deal and save the club, it would have been saved and of course the details would have come out and opinions could have stayed the same or some may have said - oh. Fact was it has NOT been needed, and I for one am very thankful. We were all ready to screw up our lives and help out, but let's face it, swapping this place for Southampton and a life of moans from the fans is not something any sane person would choose to do if there was any choice. So I'm chuffed to fook I'm still playing golf nd looking forward to the Race to Dubai in November and I still have a football team. But ask yourself just ONE question. If you had found out that the Irish group had gone from deposit and offer late Friday afternoon to nothing on the Monday and there was nobody else ready and the wages had to be paid on Thursday, and the olnly solution was to admin SFC Ltd and start next season with -25 points when for all the avialable information meant Salz & co were only a hint on the internet - is he still a moron for trying? He said in the article the funds were not liquid, but they were contractually bound to be available on the completion date and contracts were signed. It was the urgent need for the 500k cash that was the issue. Oh and FWIW, that 500k issue could have been resolved 3 weeks earlier if the initial bid and negotiations had been handled better by both sides. But it's OK, I said wait and see, never said he was the new messiah, just a part of a cog.
  17. Oh dear, poor old Sultan Al Fahim. Got a spot of bother over delivering on promises or in dispute with investors. Who'd ever believe it..... http://www.ameinfo.com/197571.html Not allowed to cut & paste hope it isn't password protected.
  18. Like I said before Game over for NOW. Let's do the I told you so's after all the money is paid and Pinnacle have control. The only criticism at this time is why, after being told to keep quiet, MJ decided it would be wise to answer a call (or possibly call the Echo) himself and do this, and a statement was not issued by Stuart. I am also in agreement with others about this, as again, his media management skills are poor, as there is no way that he should have alluded to anything that went on behind the scenes. He may have felt he was expressing an opinion of events, but again I agree it was poorly worded. I expect a number of people will be making a point to his face about this during the course of the day rather than hiding behind internet fascades. Meanwhile, the core fact remains, as I said elsewhere, he had a role in the consortium that others felt needed to be done. At no time was ANY comment made by anyone related to the group about how wonderful the bid was, how fantastic the future would be. All that was ever said, is that it was not MJ on his own and that others were in it and, IN EXACTLY the same way as Pinnacle's bid, those backers would not be discussed unless it all went through. Anyone dissing Tony for having problems keeping his group together? Yes they are, which is just plain wrong as well. I kept trying to point out that it was a hellishly difficult process.
  19. Sorry 1) Understand the club's problems It would require reading the paperwork but also meeting with the employees, understanding their opinions and inputs into what those critical areas were. An example - we lost too much money in the past 3 years. That is "bleedin obvious". Solution from DD - cut wage costs. Perhaps they MAY like to talk with the Football management side, the coaches etc before they decide the mix of players the club and their investor can afford to keep, what sort of replacements are needed. How much does the Ticket Office cost to run per year? Could it be done more efficiently? How do we handle the catering at the moment? The raw data is there but only idiots and accountants act on raw data alone, people with brains like to get ALL the facts - just because Lowe never listened to anyone doesn't mean some of the employees players and coaches don't have some ideas 2) Assess that information and then make urgent and strategic descisions They have to decide where to spend their money. Do they keep the Academy at full level of last year or do they need to invest that money now on the team. Do they gamble some of their ticket income by offering reduced prices or special deals, What is the ACTUAL elasticity of demand on ticket pricing. Where do they SPEND the investment, how much salary do they invest in the manager they want vs players 3) Create new employment contracts, make changes to the structure of the club. Hopefully they may decide that the managerial/cost centres that Lowe set up are not for them. Now ALL of this stuff has to be done in the next 18 days. Only then can they address these crucial fans issues such as the bitter arguments between the Pro's and Anti's pro London Pride & Anti Guinness groups
  20. Everyone who had anything to do with helping out were very relieved that Pinnacle paid the money up. As of last Wednesday however, the Irish had disappeared back to the Blarney Stone, the wages needed to be paid and disaster loomed on Friday morning. At that time, after having conducted their activities in the public eye, Pinnacle were nowhere to be seen. Thank God they re-appeared on Friday. But would you advocate sitting back last Wednesday when there was NOTHING else on the table and you had every belief that the club would not be able to pay the salaries? very clever talent Nick, being able to see the future like you do. Could have used you help last week, some of us could have got some sleep and not spent money on lots of phone calls.
  21. And why did they not put in that 500k? Option 1 - because it did not exist (the populist view) and of course fair or could it have been Option 2 - because an oblique contractual term was actually "technically" illegal under UK law but would not be removed Option 3 - because the investor broke a contractual agreement Option 4 - having agreed a bid price and a deposit, the bid price needed to be increased again to cover the new wage costs nick I have fully understood and agreed with the populist view, however the time to dance on MJ's grave is not YET, not until Pinnacle own the club, whichj should happen in the next 18 days. Until then, do you also take issue with the fact that he congratulated Tony & MLT. Was that the same as he did at Bournemouth?
  22. 1) Ensure that all the internal contractual obligations within your group are binding and have clear deliverables 2) Ensure that you carefully complete each step of the planning process and the investigative work that you msut do in these remaining 18 days 3) Ensure that you complete the purchase on the allotted completion date After that, it is your club, you will understand that to make a profit you need to move up the FL pyramid as fast as possible so do whatever the hell YOU and the PROFESSIONALS in your team believe is necessary to achieve that. After that it would be good to keep in clear communication with the fans
  23. Nick Alpine is right. So what exactly is your point Nick? It was commented on many times on here, and it was posted many times that at least there was a possible option. All you are doing is repeating what has been said on about 5,000 other threads. Could you PLEASE tell me where it has been published/announced that Pinnacle have completed the project and are now in full operational control of SFC Ltd? or is it more correct that has not actually happened yet, and a group of which MJ is a member have at least made the comment that in case of an absolute emergency, they stand ready to try and save the club. Would you prefer there NOT to be a safety net? or does you blind prejudice to ALL the points that were made about MJ being in a GROUP of people mean you think nothing should be done. Anyobody who lives in the UK should have some form of insurance policy. Nobody likes insurance companies, but at least IF they are needed they are there as long as you have a valid claim
  24. Great post DS, agree totally. Some of the people on here are proof positive of why the Aussies call Brits "Whingeing Poms" Let them COMPLETE the deal first, FFS they have to discover what the CLUBS' problems are and yet a few are already telling them what to do. Good grief
  25. Nah.... It sent you a message - we needed a clean break.
