  1. Of course you don't, as you're teaching in a nice tory constituency
  2. Maybe we can get Arsenal and Man Utd to form a coalition to take the Premier League title?????
  3. A very good point. If our current situation is up **** street, PR (as the Lib Dems & Labour want it) will be more likely to deliver this result time and time again.
  4. It's a con (with a small 'c') The conversation will go something like this: Clegg (to Dave): "Can we have PR?" Dave: "No" Clegg: "Don't say we didn't give you the first chance" Result = Electorate shafted
  5. As I have said they are all losers, we will be run by losers and the ultimate losers being all of us. My worst fears have come to fruition and as I have said all along, I would have preferred a Labour majority to the current state of affairs. For me, if we really want fairness, PR has to come with an English parliament.
  6. Indeed. He will submit his list of unreasonable demands that will force Dave to say no.
  7. They'll probably throw in joining the Euro just to make sure. What is clear is that we really will have a bunch of losers running the country.
  8. Minister for Lunacy? Clegg was very careful with his wording....he said he would give the first opportunity to the party with the biggest mandate. So he gives his unacceptable list of demands to Dave, who has to say no and then he can claim that he tried and gave them first opportunity before running off into the sunset with Brown.
  9. Well considering he isn't going to be chancellor, why are the markets still falling?
  10. In my opinion, they all lost. Labour clearly lost the election, losing the most seats since the war Lib Dems lost as they look like coming out of this election worse than they went in. The tories lost, because they didn't get a majority. The British public have lost because the financial ****storm is getting worse and we are in a situation where we don't know what is going to happen. Hang on tight, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
  11. A very very very clever politician, but a **** all the same
  12. Johnny Bognor = Gone to bed. Someone's got to get up tomorrow and do his bit to drag the economy from the abyss
  13. Jacqui Smith = Gone A portillo moment????
  14. Unlucky Ester, That's Life
  15. The first public sector cuts should be with those that organised the polling and totally screwed it up. 500,000 extra penpushers and we can't count all the votes!!!!
  16. BTF was a big loss to the left whilst she was on holiday, whilst VFTT showed his right of centre views which were at odds with his self proclaimed leftie stance.
  17. ....with a large dose of common sense. We could get a ministerial scalp here
  18. Only 100 votes seperate Denham and the tories, in his favour, but only just.
  19. Yep, sandals are not welcome in Romsey (they'll have to leave town with the face painted and funny wig wearers and go and live in Eastbourne)
  20. Romsey has gone sensible.
  21. The thing that is surprising me is how the sandal wearers do not appear to be doing that well. Could it be that not that many agreed with Nick afterall?
  22. Yep, would like it to stay. It keeps politics off the main forums and give those that clearly have an interest somewhere to congregate. If it is a hung parliament, the next 6 months will be interesting especially with developments in the financial world tonight.
  23. Checking in. It seems like the tories are winning some they should, not winning others they should and winning some they shouldn't. Too close to call for me.
  24. Duncan, sorry to hear of your news. It is also harder to take when it is splashed all over the media in what is clearly a smear campaign. Your salary and working hours were leaked to the Daily Hail and you may have a case of breach of confidentialiy, which is technically a breach of contract. I don't agree with the strikes and what was going on with Unite (My Mrs is an FSM with Virgin and probably earns less than half you did for exactly the same job), but at the same time the whole treatment of you as an individual has become personal and public which I find distasteful. Good luck in whatever course of action you wish to take.
