How come Hungary have such a high vaccination rate? I thought the Brexit fans told us EU countries were going to lag miles behind the UK because we'd sailed off into some sort of world beating vaccine utopia?

I watched for 10 minutes last night. Dan Wootton interviewing Lady Campbell about Harry & Meghan. Excruciating stuff really, but then I already dislike Wootton and have no interest in the royal family so probably not the best introduction to the channel for me. The weather forecaster had some weird crackling going on through his mic which made it seem quite low rent.

We'd need a load more cycle lanes to accommodate them. It's a pity our roads are so narrow in places that we can't build adequate cycle lanes, especially in cities because the scooters are great and could massively ease congestion in built up areas.

Fair enough. Seems to me that starting a new national TV news channel in an age where fewer and fewer people consume their news that way isn't a particularly good business decision. I'm actually pretty intrigued to see how it pans out within that climate because traditional broadcast media is going the same way as print with dwindling audiences. The rolling tv news channels in this country have such small audiences and that will presumably be less as more and more people go back to work as covid eases.

Aren't some of the points they will be making already covered off in the Mail, Express, Standard, Sun, Telegraph, Times, Sky News and Talksport? There's a lot of right or centre right media outlets already (granted not all their content is of that persuasion however their editorial output generally is) and all the people on the channel have already had reasonably high profile careers for other news agencies where they have already had a voice.

Recent results back that up. Some very poor ones.

They have a team full of players from decent Bundesliga clubs so should be technically good, although recent results have been a bit erratic including a 4-0 hammering by Denmark.

In the last few days the rate of increase has already slowed. 40% up on last week compared to being around 80% previously. Obviously none of those stats are ideal but if the rate carries on slowing we shouldn't get anywhere near that many cases. It's also clearly been proved that the link between cases, hospitalisations and deaths has broken by the vaccine. Cases aren't irrelevant but they certainly aren't anywhere near as important a metric as they were last year. Surely everyone knows this now?
