Am I right in saying that Kelvin Davis has a role in overseeing the loan players and reporting back on their progress? Sure I read that somewhere.
-
Agree with that. Decent player, loads of experience, national team captain. Made the odd clanger but then so do all our CB's. You'd struggle to find many teams of our size with a better 4th choice player in his position. He even played a load of games for Sampdoria this season who finished 9th.

Transfer or day out at the beach?

Most match threads on here every week are full of people slagging the players, not sure why anyone would expect it to be any different for England.
-
That Modric goal was absolutely gorgeous, and just moments after McGinn missed a pretty easy chance to put Scotland ahead.

Your crusade to try and convince people that a player they like isn't quite as good as they thought is getting a bit tedious now. Sadly for you I doubt it will make any difference, instead you're just coming across as patronising.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Funny week for the Tories, first they get trounced by the Lib Dems in a by-election and now John Bercow defects to Labour. I'm no fan of Bercow, and he no doubt feels hard done by, but he makes some interesting points. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/jun/19/john-bercow-defects-to-labour-with-withering-attack-on-johnson -
I'm not sure even Saints would manage two own goals in 5 minutes even if they included Hoedt, Hooiveld and Danny Fox in defence.

I thought it was Scotland's discipline throughout the whole team which nullified England. They were constantly cutting off passing angles and kept their shape really well. After the first 20 minutes England ran out of ideas and had no plan to try and break down the defence. Where was Sancho? Seems very strange that he's not getting on the pitch. That scramble was hilarious.

Adams doing pretty well. England a bit like the first game, flew out the traps and then faded. Will still win though.

Austria going full on Hassenhuttl vs Spurs with their crazy high line.

The Spurs thing is so weird. Will be funny seeing Gattuso kicking off on the touchline and arguing in press conferences.

Not sure about where you live but loads of pavements here are shared with cycle paths. Seems to be the way forward as long as they aren't too narrow. I can't really blame people for cycling on pavements at other times as long as they do it sensibly because the roads are so dangerous. Far too many drivers see a cyclist as an inconvenience rather than a human on bike who is just trying to get from A to B and think nothing of squeezing them into a kerb because they are so important they can't wait 30 seconds until it's safe to pass.

Wasn't that long ago we went there and won 4-2, their fans boycotted and the ones that were there spent the game making protest signs into paper aeroplanes and lobbing them on the pitch. We could have score 7 that day they were so bad. Just goes to show how quickly things can change at a club with a decent bit of investment.

First touch is nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. He has some good attributes and may end up half decent but is never going to get any sort of game time here.

Player managers have been a thing, but has there ever been a player owner apart from that mental bloke at Billaricay?

Italy doing what they need to. Enjoyed the Wales game. Watched it in town, some very happy Wales fans in the pub.

There's no place for that sort of reasonable post on here. What were you thinking?

That's the one thing I'd love to see brought in retrospectively. It's sometimes hard for the ref to make a judgement on the field in normal time because players have got so good at diving but if they started to chuck yellows at them afterwards it might at least go some way to stamping it out.

He played well, but equally he was quite terrible at St Mary's and got subbed at half time after barely having a kick. As soon as he went off Leeds improved and went on to win. I wonder which English midfielder was playing up against him that day?

New Year's Eve in town might be fun with a load of Geordies down for the night. No silly midweek aways so far, just Palace and Spurs. I guess some will get moved to Monday or Friday though (are Friday night games still a thing?)
