  1. Eddie How's to be interviewed for England job? It's in the Daily Star so could be rubbish.

  3. Just goes to show that if you have decent players even winning the league isn't enough to keep them from moving to a bigger club. Should keep some of our more vocal anti Led Reed fans from moaning about our lack of ambition.
  4. Can we have the total in $hlongs next time please.
  5. Don't diss Sir Les. He should go on the banner, he has done more for our club than any of the players.

  7. Amazing win today. This tour is looking better and better for the British riders. 4 wins already with the likelihood of more to come. I'd love to see Thomas or Yates win a stage.
  8. If only facts like these had come out when Koeman was considering the Everton job he'd have surely stayed. Sir Les missed a trick.
  9. I thought I had come over all MLG and found a genius stat to prove your theory wrong but sadly Aleaddine Yahia was only a squad member for the Tunisian team which won the ACON in 2004, the season he belonged to Saints but played no first team games.

He was dull, but far preferable to Savage.
  11. I have a few mods. Surprised by the ridiculing, no one has ever done that to me. No drawbacks as far as I can see plus some liquids taste amazing. Currently working my way through Dripworx range which is mostly superb and pretty cheap. I feel sorry for the people still smoking proper cigarettes now.
  12. It's alright. I won't buy one because I never do.
  13. As I said on another thread Koeman barely had any interaction with the youth teams, rarely watched them and gave the impression that he was completely disinterested in their progression. Compare that to Poch and Adkins who who made a point of knowing all their names, including them in first team training sessions and encouraging a pathway to the squad. From what I've heard many found this different approach to be quite demoralising and completely at odds with what the club expected. Puel will obviously change this and make the youngsters feel valued again. From now on there should be extra motivation amongst the U21's and U18's to impress because they will feel there is a much greater possibility of achievement within the club.
  14. The 2 best sportsmen we have are both cyclists. Aside from Froome and Cav you could make a case for Andy Murray perhaps, especially if you take the superhuman Djokovic out of the equation. Maybe Anthony Joshua will turn out to be the next one in the years to come. A stunning sprint today made all the more remarkable when you consider he's spent most of his time recently training on the track. What a win that was.
  15. Anyone wanting to judge the next lot of players just needs to watch them play. There's enough youth games on youtube or at St Mary's to give everyone the opportunity. Vokins and Slattery are the 2 whose development I'm most excited to see.
  16. Spent the day there yesterday at a football tournament. My son's U11 Hedge End team were the only ones from outside of the PO postcode competing. Never have I seen so many people with tattoos, kids with shaved heads, mouthy coaches and players. Many of the teams parents didn't appear to have a full set of teeth between them. Sadly they lost 1-0 in a tight semi, but went unbeaten through their group beating both Gosport and Havant & Waterlooville who really didn't like the fact a Southampton team turned them over in their own backyard. Plus I left with all the wheels still on my car so it was a decent day all round.
  17. ITV showed a clip of this on their highlights. What a bloke.
  18. Sagan is pretty much the best wheel to take. He has to go early because he won't beat any of the others over 150m, so sit on him and then jump when he starts to fade. Perfect tactics from Cav, I'm so happy for him.
  19. Yep. Koeman was openly very dismissive of the youth teams, made no effort to praise or encourage them and barely ever watched them play. Compare that to Poch who would travel up north for U21 games, knew the names of kids at lower age groups and spent a lot of time motivating them. They used to routinely train with the first team squad yet Koeman put a stop to that and pretty much placed a barrier between them and the academy. A club renowned for youth development who want to encourage the best youngsters of all ages to join needs a first team manager that, at the very least, gives the impression he cares about progression. Koeman didn't, and the academy will be a better place for his departure.
  20. Can't see past Froome winning again, Sky just look so strong and the amount of TT distance is massively is his favour. Hoping that Adam Yates and Daniel Martin both have a decent crack at a stage win and I'll be stood up celebrating if Cummings nicks one. Anyone know much about Daniel McLay? He's a British rider who has completely snuck under my radar.
  21. Where I work it's called the Pompey Pineapple. Both are excellent uses of alliteration.
  22. He's English and didn't play in the Euros so he's gone up in value.

Thought Ramsey was superb. Bale is obviously their stand out player but Ramsey glues the team together. They will massively miss him in the semis.

Brilliant headee from Southampton's Sam Vokes. Torn as to who I support in the semis now.
  25. One year left on his contract? I would have thought he'd be quite in demand from a few Championship clubs this summer.
