  1. Agreed, he is there to add some additional defensive solidity, a voice, and a bit of fuckwittery. Not 50 yard passes. Calm down and do what you are good at Key thing is he allows Smallbone to play further forward.
  2. I guess Mara is starting as Adams is crocked, and he won't risk Stewart for 70+ minutes. The only other option is Armstrong up front and that doesn't work. Seems a pretty defensive line up, which is fair enough for the away play off game.
  3. Good analysis but I suspect if you offered our players individually to other Champ teams they'd be snapped up. Certainly have one of the stronger squads. However it's a team game, and if they are set up poorly or messed about with they'll flounder. Every weakness is exposed. Leicester are a Prem team, they shouldn't have been relegated and have remained largely intact. It was a good test which Saint's failed. You need consistency and as few loan players as possible. Play a settled committed side and you start on the front foot. We can all argue about certain players, but I'm sure we all want to see them in their proper positions, doing their best. Scandalously Martin has Meghoma and Dibling available for the two weak positions. He should be giving them an opportunity. My play off team would be McCarthy KWP THB Bendarek Meghoma Downes Charles Smallbone Dibling Armstrong Adams Not 100% on Dibling but certainly like to see him get some time on the pitch. Probably lose but one eye on next year in the Championship again .
  4. The stats show they were simply more committed in movement, tackles, shots, and sheer energy. They wanted it more. Martin's strange post match interview is a concern. Bunker mentality starting to appear. I've always felt that loan players become more of a liability at this stage of the season. The commitment simply isn't there. Even THB must be thinking what next. So why start with Rothwell and Brookes. Smallbone is no ground breaker but plays for the badge. Same for Stephens. Thought Charles did ok tonight but he needs pace next to him.
  5. Good, you may not have noticed we are 5 0 down.
  6. Feel sorry for McCarthy he hasn't had a chance with those 5. Maybe the one through his legs but it was at point blank range
  7. Utterly embarrassing, has the look of a side that wants rid of their manager
  8. Leicester 17 fouls to Saints 4 Offsides 1 to Saints 6 14 shots to Saints 5 You don't need to know much more about the game. Simply a better side.
  9. Painful isn't it
  10. Good Smallbone will add something to the midfield. Well anything really will be better
  11. Che has to keep going with Faes. Make him have a very uncomfortable evening. He's cruising for a card lol
  12. They are quicker to the ball, more aggressive in the tackle and their movement is way up on ours. Zero surprise at the score. Plenty of time yet though, Leicester are perfectly capable of falling apart like Saints
  13. There it is .... easy
  14. Playing a team with as much quality as Saints and who play a similar style. Plus they really need to win. A small window on what the Prem would be like. Good test of Martin's style. At the moment Saints have been pressed hard and kept in their own half.
  15. Agree, except Rothwell. A loan that hasn't really worked out. Put Dibling there as that's his position and play Adams. He's tough Nd needs the momentum of goal scoring.
  16. Miss all those gilt edge chances and this is what happens. We've seen it all season
  17. That was terrible from Brookes and Che before him. Woeful finishing, hope that doesn't come back to haunt us
  18. Oh I include our owners in that. The silence since the announcement has been very obvious.
  19. Its fab, Chelsea and Spurs were excellent occasions and a far better way to watch football. So much more room plus you have your own crossbar. Use to have to get the ground seriously early to get that.
  20. Appalling decision purely to benifit the so called top teams. Not a thought for the teams that supported many of their players as they developed. This is part of a continuing creep by the EPL to Americanise football. Next will be a reduction in promotion and relegation you can see that coming down the line. Being knocked out of a lucurative cup by a lower tier team is a big inconvenice for these rich owners. Greed greed greed The EPL has become a poor league over recent years. Look how dismal it was for Saints last year and our board spent a fair bit (badly). Nobody has a right to survival, particularly when you play as shit as our team did, but the league has to be competitive. I'd like to think our board had the minerals to oppose this but I bet they don't. They won't want to rock the boat with promotion still a possibility. However football fans are useless. Leeds charge us £47 for an away ticket, clearly outrageous profiteering and should be boycotted by Saints fans. What happens pretty much sold out. They'll be a lot of noise about this but in the end nothing will happen the EFL will roll over. The Championship should set up in opposition to the Premier league, negotiate their own TV contract incuding matches on BBC/ITV. There won't be the money initially but I guaratee that over time the competitive nature of the league will make it more attractive.
  21. Cracking win, not bothered in the least at the 2nd half caution. Big games coming up and every ounce of energy saved helps. Great to see Che running into form. Once he starts scoring he usually continues for a while. I thought Charles played well. He isn't Downes but no way should he not be part of the match day squad. Gutted for Bazunu, McCarthy is going to have to earn his wages now. Thought he looked very rusty (to be expected) but hopefully he can see us home. He's experienced enough.
  22. Been some proper filth from Brookes and both Armstrong. Great when it comes off
  23. Holmes subbed for Cunningham. He'll have one job kick all our players
  24. Almost 4 stuey
