Quarshie has been shaky at the start of games but improved once his nerves went. He needs experience at this level, he'll only get that by playing. We don't want another ABK on our hands. He also brings an extra dimension with his pace and throw ins. If THB gets his act together, which he will, and Still plays Manning, he may be less exposed. Bugger way too many ifs and mays there

Err where did that signing come from. Bit blindsided by that one. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/saints-secure-roerslev-signing?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=signing-mads-roerslev&utm_term=news&utm_content=link&fbclid=IwQ0xDSwMUVQ5jbGNrAxRUQGV4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEeFpMkgdah8kYYv-sLeQdfPpt0LTFzdo38xuDMmLfJX-9mePYeGanEzLvr6Js_aem_szC5QbJeyVfGOCHlhPdPmg 94 Premier league games, clearly experienced. Functional signing I guess with KWP gone.

I like that team, but I can't see SR allowing all the family silver to be used. How wonderful if they did. I'd bring in Wood for Quarshie, or possibly THB. He's experienced and takes no shit, and Stoke will throw plenty of that at Saints. I like him as a player we don't seem to have given him much of a chance. I thought Armstrong harassed the life out of Ipswich, probably worth starting with and bring on Dibs when they are tired.
-
Doubt it, he's a 19 year old lad. Probably wants to hide from all this, I would, goodness knows what it's doing to his mental health. His 'people' will be doing all the agitation, and the club have to sell big somewhere. We seem to have been here so often over the years. Always the same result. Just get it over with.

He came on for 10 minutes, and was immediately surrounded by three defenders, he was hardly going to have much of an opportunity today, but still nice to see him on the pitch. Defenders are very uncomfortable around him, as he is unpredictable. Certainly a mercurial talent. It's all potential and it remains to be seen whether he becomes the player we all want him to be. As Gio says, the horrible uncomfortable truth is that he needs better players around him, and crucially protection from the ref. Lots of ifs in Tyler's world at the moment. I suspect we'll see a different player once things settle down.

Mr Confident

Fair result, they'll be pace setters and most will lose points at Portman Rd. Saints went toe to toe and could have won that. Boy that defence needs work.
-
Evenly matched half, as you would expect. Both defences are a shambles, ours more so. Still has to resolve this quickly, otherwise Ipswich will take control.
-
He went through 3 defenders after THB Gunter Netser routine. Just ridiculous
-
What the hell is this ref on, decision after decision against Saints.
-
I wouldn't dump on Quarshie just yet, early days but Wood looked way more composed on Tuesday. I'd give him the nod at the moment. The problem is Wellington isn't coping with the press and Quarshie simply cannot react quick enough. Plenty of time
-
He clearly had potential, but that evaporated pretty quickly. Now the arse is sitting on big wages and clearly isn't going to move until he has to. Just pay his contract up and be done with him
-
That would be good, we can dream, sadly the bollocks I am envisaging is both going and no incomings.
-
Pretty obvious now why Saints are pushing the Dibling deal. That brings in cash which they can use as serious muscle in the the Championship. Going after a player of Spertsyan's quality, with a rivals key player as a backup is encouraging. If it all ends up as bollocks I shall be ..... irritated.

Ipswich not exactly brushing Bromley aside. Behind on Pens atm .
-
His brother scored for Reading against Pompey as well. Happy days in the Ehibhatiomhan household. Mum and Dad will be splitting duties there. Hard work having two brothers at different clubs.
-
Archer got totally sandwiched there. ...... nothing.
-
Very scrappy at the moment, they don't seem to know where each other are. The forward line cannot hold the ball at all.
-
Blimey no messing about with that team. The ghost of Gillingham being exorcised tonight .... hopefully.
-
I'd be staggered if either of Dibling or Fernades stays, but I doubt if either has much say in it, particularly a quiet 19 yo. The people around them will be making all the noise. I've assumed the club need to cash to bring in other assets, and are actually the ones driving the possible sales, but I know sweet FA so avoid unhelpful speculation Macca. What a bonus it would be to keep either or both, we can only dream.
-
The noise around Spertsyan feels like Saints are being used. He's clearly a good player, but the situation is obviously complicated. Sounds like the Gakpo deal. Saints being used as a feasibility study. If it looks like a deal could be achieved, watch a Prem club nip in and hijack the deal. If Saints do manage to sign him, it will show real intent. Good luck to the negotiation team.

Yeah pretty desperate, probably be spanked by Northampton My point about their individual ability I think is valid. A side languishing towards the bottom of L1 would probably be pleased with any one of those on loan. There lies the paradox of a team game.
-
An opportunity to give the squad minutes. Wellington may be injured as he was feeling his calf yesterday so need to protect our last two full backs. McCarthy Edwards Wood Sanda Aribo Matsuki Sesay O'Brien Whitmarsh Fraser Archer BBD On the face of it pretty weak/inexperienced, but all of those players would be starters for Northampton, so they should be competitive.

It's all about opinions isn't it, be boring otherwise. However I do concur Charles had a cracking game. Clearly I saw more in Stephens but not much between them.
-
We deserved that win after last year. Good to see a fit team for once. Quarshie was really nervous and unsure at the start, but he grew into the game, and looked more confident by the end. I thought Charles was very good, which is great to see, but he was really blowing before Downes went off. Looked a bit dejected tbh. He slotted in a bit deeper and seemed to perk up. A few others on here have observed that he wasn't comfortable playing the initial system, which is probably right. I wouldn't underestimate how cathartic that win will be for the players. They'll have tougher tests but the monkey has been lifted a little.
