  1. He seems happy enough with the situation.
  2. That's his song sorted then. Even the Northam can't cock that up by singing it too fast ..........can they?
  3. That covers most of their supporters then. Don't kniow much about him. I watched 2 or 3 of Rangers European games on tv, apart from Tavernier, Aribo was the only name that I remember from their team.. Not sure if that's a reflection on his ability or that fact that every time the commentator said his name I immediately repeated it in a Mexican accent
  4. Climate change. Rising sea levels. The waves represent St Marys in 20 years time. 🤣
  5. At first glance I thought it was a spoof post, but the more I look at it the more I like it. It's a kit that is going to be remembered. At least it looks like a football shirt, Man Ciy's recent paisley effort just looked like a t-shirt. Again the big white circle on the sponsor logo spoils it, could have got away with transparent on that design. Looking forward to the third kit now.
  6. No, they've also signed a young Irish guy, B. Jesus.
  7. Without giving anything away we both have a degree of inside knowledge of the industry. Do you think a club could make more by announcing a playing shirt would remain unchanged for 5, even 10 years?. Personally I think a lot of adults who never buy one might commit to one knowing it would last that long but probably not enough to offset the loss of those that buy new shirt every season. Kids grow anyway so would need to replace theirs everry couple of years regardless of design. But in combination with that the club shop/website could offer a much wider range of short run, when it's gone it's gone club badged leisurewear with new stocks arriving seasonally 2-4 times a year (or more), similar to a normal clothing fashion label. If they got the range right I reckon they could increase overall sales considerably, but then I guess you'd have to factor in the loss of however much the kit manufcturers pay the club every year to sell the ever changing deisigns.
  8. That was an excerpt from the educational video "Successful Negotiating by Nicola Cortese"
  9. He could be a big loss for them. From what I saw of Everton in the last few weeks of the season he seemed to be trying to keep them up almost single handed.
  10. Corrected it for you 😜
  11. Haven't Hummell already hinted at the 76 style candy stripes are due for a revival? I'm with you, really like mixing it up, evenly sized stripes are my probably my least favourite (and isn't there a stat about no-one in stripes having won the league or cup for ages? Liking the Barcelona variations, my favourite is #24, pretty much what we have now without the fading, would love us in a red and white#9 & #20 as well. Just no hoops - ever!
  12. I'd like to go full MLG mode and claim I was just being ironic, but ....
  13. As someone that doesn't like stripes, whether they're our "tradition" or not, that gets a definite like from me. Have to laugh at the marketing bo||ox though, it's a nice shirt, but no, it dosn't inspire me to be brave. I mean wtf is all that nonsense about?
  14. I think some see him as brilliant for the same reasons Benali and Prutton became crowd favourites. Great blokes, totally commited, but raport with the fans doesn't win matches.
  15. Well it works for Man City .... Admittedly their overall owners have a helluva lot more to splash around. And I'd imagine buying a player through one club and loaning him out to another in your group is a sneaky way of getting around some of the FFP rules. Plus sometimes we want a player for the future who needs to build up his points for a work permit, so sending him somewhere for guaranteed game time now can go towards that. Not to mention getting experience at higher levels than loans to the like of Ross County. Admittedly the Lis one was a strange one but has our - I mean SR's - purchase of the Turkish club even completed yet? It may be the only way of ensuring we got his registration for now . Lyanco going there again guarantees game time, yes at a relatively low quality but who knows what other clubs at what levels will end up in our "group". Probably still a lotmore competitive for him every week than turning out for the U23s. And are we the "poorest premier league club" ?
  16. Could explain why we are good in the first half then come out looking knackered in the second half. Although Ralf must have an assistant for that, no-one could get round all 11 of them in a 15 minute break.
  17. Pretty sure I recall from an episode of The Price of Football podcast a couple of months back that the terms of the loan that they pumped into Burnley (£90m?) made it repayable immediately if they got relegated. If that's correct they could take years to get back again
  18. Expect to see him parading around in the new kit tomorrow lunchtime after his €8m transfer then 🤣
  19. A summer of intrigue and very little work getting done. HMR. Mentally searching through my old memory banks - Help Me Rhonda ??
  20. When, or even a few games before, the season ended I wanted him gone. All I could see was a stubborn manager making the same mistakes time and time again. BUT Since the season has ended I've changed my mind. He clearly has the backing of the new owners, at least for now, and that is good enough for me . 3 transfers in already, how involved RH was in those we will probably never know but it shows faith in him. If they wanted him out they'd have got rid by now before any new signings. But more importantly, the backroom staff changes that the new owners have made. Again we'll probably never know if they were with RH's blessing, at his request, or maybe against his wishes, but some have gone, new people have arrived, and he is still here. For the first time since he's been here we look like we are getting in the players (and backroom team) we want as opposed to making do with what we've got and whoever we could get late in the window after missing on the preferred targets whilst having to sell/loan out players before we could make signings. We're not made of money, for each new one in one has to go but at least we're shopping in the right order now. There is an air of change around the club, big changes, after too many stagnant, make do years. For better or for worse he looks to be part of that change. I'll give him one last chance, slate clean, fresh start. We're not going to be UCL contenders but I'm not unreasonably expecting 20 points by (was going to habitually say Xmas) the World Cup break. Anything less and it's probably "we're calling you in for a chat" time.
  21. Either those seats are massive or we've just signed the world's smallest CB 😳
  22. We have to remember where he spent last season. Was he slow at starting counters? or where the outfield players slow and making the runs for him to pass to? As for always talking to his defence for me that puts him ahead of McCarthy already, regardless of any other ability. The keeper is part of the defence unit, McCarthy often gives the impression he's a stand alone last resort if and when something gets through the back 4/5.
  23. Agree. I think the two different stripe sections look a mess close up and just red and pink from a distance. Same shirt in two plain red and white sections would look awesome, fresh, stylish and (I think but I'm probably wrong, maybe Blackburn?) unique as a home kit in English football
  24. To be fair, nobody has played at this level before until they've played at this level. No matter how young or old you can never be sure how good they'll be until they are thrown in at the deep end. From what I've heard from my Pompey insider I have every faith in him to ge, at worst, a step up from McCarthy and Forster.
