  1. Things now look so bad I'd happily move for Gerrard or Lampard. Not as manager obviously, but even at their age either of them should strengthen our midfield and probably end the season as top scorer as well.
  2. That photo has become legendary but I've forgotten what they had the hump about. Wasn't it really trivial. like parking or something?
  3. Why would anyone have a target of between 7th & 12th, and not just top 12. If he'd scraped top 6 would have been sacked for over-acheiving? Or did the club specify that we don't want any of that European nonesense again?
  4. In principal I love that outlook, but the downside is it doesn't matter how good at those situations you become, unless you're constantly evolving the fewer situations you train for the more predictable you get (probably why our superb-for-a-while pressing game started going wrong) and easy for the opposition to nullify and/or overcome. .
  5. She should fit our style perfectly, she was great as Inspector Clouseau.
  6. Christ, if he goes into Saturday's match knowing it's his last, in a show of stubborn arrogance he'll probably make 11 changes and instruct them to line up in a F**k You formation.
  7. Surprised Joachim Low has been without a job since England knocked Germany out of the Euros last year. Is that through his own choice? Could we persuade him to have a bash at the Premier League?
  8. What's TSP? And what time tomorrow? Is it worth me staying up another hour?
  9. At least those smug grins will be wiped off the faces of Leicester and ManUtd fans when they realise one player on his own can score as many as their whole team scored against us.
  10. Benitez is available?!?!. Never realised. And we're putting up with this sh|t sleepwalking us towards relegation every week!! To be fair chances are we'll go down with him in charge as well but at least we'll have some fun on the way. Get him in now.
  11. Nice rant but I think you've got your regimes muddled up. Qatar own PSG, they're not involved in the Premier League .... yet.

    Che Adams

You're marked and isolated on your own, a long ball is pumped up to you. You have one option, to head/chest the ball in a controlled manner in the one direction and distance that ensures you also get the next touch. Piece of piss for the defender who knows exactly what you will do. He doesn't even need to win the header, just do enough to stop you doing what you need to do ( a little nudge or hold down, not enough to give away a free kick is often enough) and he or a defensive colleague win the ball back. You're marked but have one or more colleagues within 10 yards alongside you, a long ball is pumped up to you. You have options, head it sideways to him, flick it on for his run, control it yourself. Defender has no idea what you will try and can't make a decision without waiting for your move (or run risk of a free kick by going straight through you regardless), straight away you have much better chance of winning the header . Hardly rocket science is it?
  13. I agree with that to a point, after ll if we play the same every week we will be - and were - quickly sussed out. . But my problem is the timing of changes, I'm talking match starting formations, not mid-game rethinks and/or substitutions. Many a time we've totally outplayed the opposition form the first 20 minutes or so (unfortunately usually failing to score). Those games are normally when we start with what we do best. But then randomly a new system will be tried which often looks like the players have no idea what's going on. Is it lack of training under that new system? Is it a last minute decision to make a change? Rarely does it seem to be because the opposition play a certain way, it seems like their tactics are irrelevant to the decision. Is he arrogant enough that it's Ralph's way or no way, and doesn't even bother studying the opposition? RH has had plenty of time now. No manager can survive with one tactic but his changes always seem to be made at the nwrong time, either before the team fully understand the or too late, by which time the opposition teams understand and prepare for them. And when we are constantly being told that transfer targets have to fit into our way of playing .......I can only guess that depends which week they sign .
  14. Re-instate replays in every round. No penalties. Presumably it's not PL competition so the PL teams won't be restricted to only playing their nomiated squad players. If the Big6 can't avoid a fixture clash between replays and a Euro-fixture they can play 11 youngsters or forfeit the tie. .
  15. Rule 1
  16. So what is his level? Since PSG sacked him Dortmund, Benfica, Ajax, Brugge, Marseilles, Shaktar Donetsk, Leizpig and Chelsea are all Champions League clubs plus Man Utd and PSV who don't seem to think he's their level. Or is he turning them all down for something bigger? I think he's a 7/10 manager who can improve a club at our level (which he proved) but is not capable of taking a "big club" (Spurs, PSG) to the next level. If you feel differently we'll beg to differ. But I'm still not suggesting we would or should get him back
  17. I don't need to get used to it, I've never thought he would for one minute. But your post implied he wouldn't come here because bigger clubs will be after him. I was just pointing out that several bigger clubs could have signed him this year but none did, nor from memory were even seriously linked with him. The point I was making was maybe the likes of us, or Espanyol, are his level. Maybe want he wants and what he'll end up accepting aren't necessarily the same thing.
  18. How many of the "biggest clubs" have appointed new managers since he left PSG? He's still available.
  19. Spend money on a striker in January, keep same manager and still he'll still get us relegated. No can’t see it as that’s throwing money away!
  20. And now, if/when we do run out of puff we can use 5 subs. It's like that rule change was made for our tactics. Yet we seem to do the opposite, play it slow and steady and suddenly decide to go for it when there's too little time left.
  21. Echo reporting all 3 villa keepers missed training, 2 with injury, 1st choice Martinez through illness. Time to play 5 up front? 🤣
  22. Ah, so that's what Klopp must have been referring to when I caught the end of an after match press conference whilst channel hopping last night. The totaly bemused look on his face said all we need to know about what he thought of the idea. Even with the best marketing in the world, I can't imagine any game the average fan would be less interested in. And that's in a year when we have a #WankyWorldCup in Qatar.
  23. I'll stake a claim for silly mid-off.
