  1. First thought: How the hell did the computer come up with that anomoly in the fixture list? Followed by slow realisation: Ah, the Wanky Winter World Cup. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  2. First time I read that I thought "why?" Just reread it and it seems a likely situation. Did "owner" previously say "boss" ?
  3. I really liked the first kit in the release photos, but of course they were all taken from the front. Seeing players running around in it from all angles I've gone off it, just too much white. On the other hand I thought the away kit was the best I'd seen in a long long time, and seeing them play in that I like it even more. Any guesses on the 3rd kit release date? If - do we know for sure? - it has a spitfire link I thought maybe July 10th being the date of the start of the Battle of Britain but that came and went and we're still none the wiser.
  4. That's what this forum needs, more optimism. On a personal note, I'll have whatever you're having. 🍻
  5. Ooh, keeper comfortably claims cross on edge of 6 yard box. Not seen that for a while, he has to be first choice now πŸ˜„
  6. I posted those two last week, I'm sure there's even more out there. But that doesn't fit a few peoples anti-Ralph, anti-Saints agenda
  7. Maybe not, 4 have gone with the first team. These single camera live streams really makes you appreciate SkySports multi angles don't they 🀣
  8. My favourite Costock_Fox Posted 4 hours ago Is this money laundering? Feels like in 2 years time we are going to find out that Brendan’s mum owns Southampton at this point. Edited 4 hours ago by Costock_Fox πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ As some else on there pointed out, it was Rodgers who signed Lovren, Lallana and Lambert for Liverhampton. Dors he have connections down here to be do obsessed with our players?
  9. Was he the one that had agreed to sign , personal terms etc done, then Lawrie got a phone call next day to say Mrs Todd wouldn't let him come to us?
  10. 100% agree with you, we are a better team with him in it. Yes does he does miss a few sitters but importantly he is there in the right place to have the shot in the first place. That's down to his positional sense which is superb both inside and outside the box and he's great at holding up the ball and bringing someone else into the attack - when he's not left alone to do it all himself. He strikes me as a very intelligent footballer who just needs some sort of phsycological boost to be able to relax when in front of goal and take more of the opportunities we know - both both goals he has scored for us as well as previous teams - he is capabale of. He rarely blasts a hopeful shot wide in a panic, more often than not he's straigh at or too close to the keeper , which to me shows an element of trying to play it too safe. Agree with @Turkish , if he could gain a confidence boost of say 3 goals in the first 5 games he could easily go on to score 20 in a season. I'd be aiming to build my attacking options around him this window, not let him go. That's not to say we shouldn't buy someone better, but if/when we do we should go for someone who can form a good partnership with the very good, could be ecellent, player we already have.
  11. No that would be dead centre, as opposed to .........centre.
  12. Yeah but ....... they've played for Liverpool so they can add the "special" surcharge .
  13. Not for me, assume AdblockPlus is doing it's job.
  14. Think he's got the wrong end of the stick there. They'd need to be offering at least Β£10m for Kyle, Β£15m for Walker and another Β£15 m for Peters before we even thought about it
  15. WHU may be closer in distance but according to google maps timewise our training ground is 15 minutes closer to Slough than theirs. Still not sure about Broja, didn't see enough to convince me we couldn't get better for less money (not sure who but they must be out there). In a way he reminded me of Pahars and Gabbiadini (not playing style) in that he done just enough for much of the crowd to think of him as the second coming, yet more often than not was totally anonymous. Then again was that through lack of effort/interest, or was it down to the system not suiting his style or vice versa. If it's the latter .would RH be willing to change our style to suit him? We've had enough of square pegs in round holes the last two years, if he doesn't fit the system then we should give him a miss.
  16. It's great that we are in a position to buy before we sell. And the fact that are giving youngsters a pathway to first team football is even easier to implement with new 5 substitute rule, we can be giving 16 players first team action every match if we so wish. Any one know, when that sub rule was implemented was the 25 player squadlimit increased to accomodate more players playing each week. Just wondering what happens if after signing all these new boys we can't offloadsome of our "no longer requireds".
  17. He seems happy enough with the situation.
  18. That's his song sorted then. Even the Northam can't cock that up by singing it too fast ..........can they?
  19. That covers most of their supporters then. Don't kniow much about him. I watched 2 or 3 of Rangers European games on tv, apart from Tavernier, Aribo was the only name that I remember from their team.. Not sure if that's a reflection on his ability or that fact that every time the commentator said his name I immediately repeated it in a Mexican accent
  20. Climate change. Rising sea levels. The waves represent St Marys in 20 years time. 🀣
  21. At first glance I thought it was a spoof post, but the more I look at it the more I like it. It's a kit that is going to be remembered. At least it looks like a football shirt, Man Ciy's recent paisley effort just looked like a t-shirt. Again the big white circle on the sponsor logo spoils it, could have got away with transparent on that design. Looking forward to the third kit now.
  22. No, they've also signed a young Irish guy, B. Jesus.
  23. Without giving anything away we both have a degree of inside knowledge of the industry. Do you think a club could make more by announcing a playing shirt would remain unchanged for 5, even 10 years?. Personally I think a lot of adults who never buy one might commit to one knowing it would last that long but probably not enough to offset the loss of those that buy new shirt every season. Kids grow anyway so would need to replace theirs everry couple of years regardless of design. But in combination with that the club shop/website could offer a much wider range of short run, when it's gone it's gone club badged leisurewear with new stocks arriving seasonally 2-4 times a year (or more), similar to a normal clothing fashion label. If they got the range right I reckon they could increase overall sales considerably, but then I guess you'd have to factor in the loss of however much the kit manufcturers pay the club every year to sell the ever changing deisigns.
  24. That was an excerpt from the educational video "Successful Negotiating by Nicola Cortese"
  25. He could be a big loss for them. From what I saw of Everton in the last few weeks of the season he seemed to be trying to keep them up almost single handed.
