Uncertainty itself isnt the cause. If Brexit was likely to be better than the status quo there would be optimism and probably improved growth. It is exactly because industry believes Brexit will, at best, lead to moderate reductions in economic growth over the next 10 years, and at worst severe declines that the UKs current performance is the worst of any industrialised nation.

Do tell oh scion of Aletheia. Why is Britain the worst performing economy in both the EU and the OECD? All lies innit?

Did you not know the Chile-UK avocado trade is a major element of our GDP? (or at least will be after Brexit hits the car and financial services industries).

We are the worst performing economy in the EU and the worst in the OECD. Woot

Not normally, but my son used to have almost zero warning of needing the toilet. He even took medication for a while. Something he grew out of, but later than year 6.

Welcome MissSaint93 Interesting, bizarre, self harming and 'diverse' are adjectives i'd think of before 'good' )

And RT is adequately balanced by the Kiev Post.

So is the Express and Mail. You exclude them? You have to read polemics / propaganda to understand weaknesses in your own beliefs.

Yes. You should always read from a range of sources, it saves you from embarrassing narrow and uninformed opinions. In this case they simply lifted it from a Robert Peston interview anyway.

A frustrated Merkel took to mocking the PM as she waited for Britain to explain exactly what it wants from the divorce. Speaking with reporters at a World Economic Forum event, Merkel reportedly joked she is locked in a “loop” with the British leader. Merkel said May keeps asking her to “make me an offer,” according to reports, as the chancellor was asked about post-Brexit ties. ITV News' Robert Peston reported that Merkel said: “But you're leaving - we don't have to make you an offer. Come on, what do you want?” The room full of journalists reportedly laughed at the mock exchange played out by Merkel. https://www.rt.com/uk/417292-germany-merkel-brexit-may

Spot on unfortunately. With first past the post you have to win the centre ground to get elected. Blair moved Labour from the left fringes to the slightly pink centre and got Labour into government for 13 years after 18 years of being 'left', 'principled' and unelectable. A PR system would mean more conviction led politics. You could be a true left or right party who goes into coalitions with others

Seems odd that was the main issue for you. I don't think any leading politician in the UK since Blair has been keen to join

I cant remember what the exact words of the bet were (and cant be bothered to trawl back) but all the developments since the referendum have been a gradual row back from the promises made, incrementally managing expectations and setting the scene for Norway. Why? because WTO rules would have a major impact on the economy - and result in a big fall in living standards. Whilst a few Tory headbangers might be prepared to accept that its been clear from day 1 the majority of MPs wouldnt. We will end up as Norway, with the same deal and rules. The EU will allow a little bit of a fig leaf and window dressing by the Government, enabling them to call it something else and claim some kind of victory and Brexit really did mean Brexit. But the reality will be clear and obvious.

Already did with Wes about a year ago. Its been obvious to anyone who is conscious since the whole charade started.

Trade talks which end with Britain accepting the same terms as Norway. What an effing waste of time, money, influence and credibility as a place to do business.

The only certainty is that it will go pop very loudly and very quickly eventually. Those were both smart and lucky will have cashed out by then, the rest, well.....

Still butt sore about the EU toxicity ban huh?

David Davis doesn't think he needs to be clever to negotiate Brexit or to know that much, just be calm. I think I can see where the problem is... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/12/11/dont-have-clever-do-job-says-brexit-secretary-david-davis/

I see the schlerotic EU signed a free trade deal with Japan - giving them by far the most trade deals compared with US, China and India, or indeed the UK with none. Still brave New Britain is fighting fit for the world of opportunity that awaits us.
