  1. Slow on the uptake or just dishonest? The average wage of EU immigrants is higher than the UK average, as is pointed out every time you attempt this. The low wage immigrants are on average from Bangladesh and Pakistan.
  2. I wonder if Adkins would take the job? He'd be a really good appointment for them.
  3. Hasn't played for over a year, out of contract for 9 months. Smacks of desperation to me, not the much trumpeted uber slick and planned Southampton way.
  4. Have you thought about a development mortgage to make the financials less fraught? Worth investigating imo from what little I know (mainly watching Grand Designs). http://www.uk-development-finance.co.uk/dev-mortgages-bing
  5. Cycle times have really increased in the past few years, almost doubled - all so the manufacturers can achieve their A++++++ energy ratings. However the rating is based on the standard cycle. If you get a washer with a fast cycle option you can get a good wash in 30 minutes or so at the cost of a small amount of extra electricity.
  6. Another miss Wes. How come you are so absolutely consistent? Even the clueless normally get an answer right by chance now and then. My point was about Farage changing his mind. He does. A lot. That clip endorses my point not disproves it.
  7. Can't help wondering if the fans he was referring to are members of the board - specifically Pomagne Ian and the Trust board members. Comes across to me as more than a problem with the manager, its a dysfunctional club and board - which of course is great news for us since the problems will keep repeating even when they change the fall guy.
  8. Maybe Farron isn't sure what Farage believes atm because he has changed his mind so often? http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/open-britain-video-single-market-nigel-farage-anna-soubry_uk_582ce0a0e4b09025ba310fce
  9. I like Deep Blue Hard to believe he's a Pompey fan!
  10. Someone will be round with the firelighters later
  11. Probably the main reason tbf. Also I hear the directors box has good Feng Shui
  12. Erm not really. You could buy the trio of Juventus, Lazio and AS Roma for that money - or both Lazio and Sporting Lisbon and have £300m change
  13. Really? He's only 19 and been at Saints for six years. Before that he was at the Elite Training Academy. If he ever was at skates it means it was when he was a small kid and that their academy either couldnt spot his talent or weren't good enough to develop it.
  14. I wonder what odds you can get on which lasts longer - the Euro or Trump's Presidency?
  15. Investment in UK car industry slowing. I wonder why that is? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38740144
  16. Isnt it both? People prefer to trade with their neighbours for all kinds of reasons. When you share a language, have shorter supply chains, quicker delivery and similar legal structures you take a lot of risk and variability out of the equation. However importing in bulk from China or some other sweatshop is cheap and for some things prices trumps all.
  17. The case / judgement was never about the court itself having a view on those things but it was about ensuring Parliament had a view.
  18. You really are utterly crap at this stuff aren't you? She doesn't need to be a legal whizz because guess what? you can hire people who are and take their advice. Awesome huh? How do you pay for that advice? using the £30m pile your husband made at New Star and Henderson.
  19. No doubt. As well read, informed and thoughtful people how could they not? Edit: I see the Mail is taking it well. Measured as ever. Hurrah for the Blackshirts!! "Yet again the elite show their contempt for Brexit voters! Supreme Court rules Theresa May CANNOT trigger Britain's departure from the EU without MPs' approval... as Remain campaigners gloat http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4150822/Judges-ruling-PM-executive-powers-trigger-Brexit.html#ixzz4WflEMcRX
  20. Government loses appeal and Parliament have right to vote on Article 50. Right decision whichever way you voted in the referendum. In practice it wont change anything because MPs will allow Article 50 to be triggered - but to not back the Sovereignty of Parliament would have set a worrying precedent.
  21. ..
  22. Jamaica? or were you thinking of Papua New Guinea?
  23. Got to have immigration if you want trade. Not quite what we were promised.
  24. You can have a legitimate opinion on quality of local management but what happened to training places from 2010 onwards is a matter of fact. There are dozens of stories about it from 2010 warning of the consequences right up till now exposing the problems. This one from the Telegraph covers most bases. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/nhs/11689202/NHS-spends-huge-sums-on-foreign-nurses-yet-two-thirds-of-local-applicants-are-rejected.html https://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/apr/04/nhs-recruits-one-in-four-nurses-from-abroad
