I'm pretty sure the one with a shawl is Clarissa Dickson Wright. You can cross her off. -

We could yell abuse at them individually and see which ones get upset and which ones arent bothered. We'd need some way of remembering who's who though. Maybe we could give them a badge - a star or something. -
Strikes me as the actions of a man who refused to walk away for nothing and they needed a board meeting to sanction the paying up of his contract.

The year 2013 tied with 2003 as the fourth warmest year globally since records began in 1880. The annually-averaged temperature across global land and ocean surfaces was 0.62°C (1.12°F) above the 20th century average and marks the 37th consecutive year (since 1976) that the annual temperature was above the long-term average. Currently, the warmest year on record is 2010, which was 0.66°C (1.19°F) above average. To date, including 2013, 9 of the 10 warmest years on record have occured during the 21st century. Only one year during the 20th century—1998—was warmer than 2013. The global annual temperature has increased at an average rate of 0.06°C (0.11°F) per decade since 1880 and at an average rate of 0.16°C (0.28°F) per decade since 1970. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/2013/13 -

Exactly that. When I was running I used to aim to be an Olympic runner. I never made it of course but the aspiration definitely lifted me higher than I would have been if I just aimed to beat the loppo Alton kid whose feet pointed out when he ran.

Any idea why they aren't playing him? Because he's sh ite or because they want him off the wage bill?

Its worse than just the ministers - it even extends to the civil servants who draw up policies and draft legislation. A few years ago I was talking to my boss about a previous job I'd had in in the NHS and was saying how crazy the system of bidding for funds for capital improvements was (not necessarily the idea but the system and execution). She piped up with "oh I designed that when I was the Department of Health" for 18 months. It transpired she had only ever worked for the Civil Service, previously in the Foreign Office and then Transport. No experince of the NHS at all.

LIVE DEBATE: The EU - in or out - Clegg vs Farage
buctootim replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Lounge
That may be the average but based on that report I'd say it looks like that UKIP has a mix - working class ex labour voters and traditionalist tories. -
Guess its got to be McInnes. Only the chairman would be able to see a 5-2 vote and not act, telling them to sleep on it.

LIVE DEBATE: The EU - in or out - Clegg vs Farage

I wouldn't mind Farage as a minister in a coalition government. Trouble is there isn't a single one of the rest of the party you'd want even as an MP. -
Apparently there have been some problems with wiring on 280 777s delivered - implicated in this electrical cockpit fire on a 777 in 2011. Seems to me to be the most plausible explanation yet of what happened to the Malaysian plane which could have been left crippled but flying. A lot of interesting comments at the end (scroll down). Comms possibly either shut down to reduce the number of live circuits or knocked out by fire http://www.avherald.com/h?article=44078aa7&opt=0

There was one object tagged with a smoke flare. I couldn't see it even with the tv cameras zoomed in. At present there are only three ships in the search zone - an area the size of England, France, Germany and the low countries combined. Near to impossible job atm.

£5m seems achievable, maybe more linked to over performance. Depends to some extent how much we give away - eg just a shirt sponsor or throw in stadium naming, free boxes etc
