  1. How come when Cortese talked about CL you derided him and when KL doesn't mention CL in her first three days as Chairman you talk about lack of European ambition? Thats rhetorical btw, don't bother to reply, I know the answer.
  2. Could well be right. He did okay for Saints in the Championship but not a success at Reading. Some people just dont travel well.
  3. I make nothing of it http://www.yatedo.com/p/Gareth+Rogers/normal/36e1db4e68d2d8dcda7bce0f66fc04c5
  4. No they wouldn't. The permanent job is already earmarked. No credible outsider is going to leave their current role without notice, take the job for three months and then have on their CV that the temporary contract ended and the job was given to someone else.
  5. Did that bring a tear to your eye?
  6. I guess the Professional refs body wont let Williams go without notice then.
  7. Pochettino bought in an outside motivational speaker during the Spanish summer camp, the firewalking was only part of it. I wouldn't be surprised if the main target for Krueger's efforts were the 230 or so non playing staff, in an effort to 'bring some smiles' back.
  8. Wouldn't be surprised if the club owned some houses for the scholars and family to stay in, but thats a different proposition.
  9. Fair enough, maybe he is just reporting the negative stuff then, no idea why.
  10. He obviously has a source very close to the club who feeds him info, which he then reports. The more interesting question is why is the club source leaking mostly negative stories and why have they ramped up in the last few weeks?.........
  11. Matt Crocker is still listed as being Academy manager on the website.
  12. Not long before the Falklands war I think....
  13. Ive got next seasons
  14. Its really not. She isnt a stranger rocking up out of the blue. She has a four year track record of delivering on her fathers aspirations, backed by £100m of hard cash. She's earned the right to be trusted at her word.
  15. I didnt even know Bath was still going, I thought it got the chop during administration. Its definitely worth developing to the max, there aren't any comparable competing teams within a 60 mile radius.
  16. If we go back to stripes it will be known as the Kat Kit
  17. That'll be the red hot poker and chloroform
  18. Seems pretty definite there'll be no more signings, beers or pies then. Not good.
  19. I just think she could have got advisers / board members with a bit of a stronger track record. However who knows, maybe they are long standing friends who she trusts.
  20. Very encouraging statement. Strikes just the right tone imo.
  21. On the face of it Lenart and Krueger look to be odd appointments. However as long as we get a good CEO I guess it doesn't matter very much.
  22. From a link posted on other thread Southampton have appointed a little-known Austrian football agent to their board in a bid to beef up the club's beleaguered management team. Josef Lenhart, was introduced to staff at St Marys yesterday – and is likely to be given a wide-ranging remit to support the Premier League outfit following last week's shock resignation of former chairman, Nicola Cortese. He is the first appointment made by Katharina Liebherr, since she took over the role of executive chairman in the wake of Cortese's sensational walkout. “We don’t know much about him as he was only introduced to us yesterday,” club spokesman, Simon Williams, told SportsDirect News. “I believe his role is largely going to be advisory – but it will be defined properly over the course of the next few weeks.” Quite why Lenhart has been asked to joined the club is unapparent, as his CV is hardly gold-plated. The 53-year-old is a former Austrian league footballer, who played for LASK in the 1980s. In recent years he has been a football agent, and has a small portfolio of players, plying their trades in Europe’s second and third tiers. He also does work for a Liechtenstein-based charity called Football Is More, which aims to support and help disadvantaged youngsters growing up in crisis areas around the world. The charity is supported by a wide-range of organisations, including Liverpool
