Cortese speaking at Leaders in Football conference (10th Oct) - Live Feed
buctootim replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Changing part of your history and identity - like strip or ground name and selling it to a sponsor is great for the balance sheet in the short term. In the long run you gradually erode the affinity fans for for 'their' club and everyone ends up feeling like a customer buying yet another product. Customers are much less likely than fans to still turn up on a wet Tuesday cup game or keep buying tickets when things aren't going well. -

Belfast - Tips & Saints Man U Game in a Bar?
buctootim replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Lounge
Lavery's in Bradbury Place will almost certainly have it on. The Crown saloon is probably the most famous bar in Belfast and Ive watched a couple of matches in there, but it was a few years ago now. -

I agree with carers allowance but don't understand the comment or mentality. Presumably you are caring for a member of your family, someone you love? The state is enabling you to do that, albeit for less money than is ideal. Its not like a paid job as professional carer. Should people also be paid for caring for their children?

Get the planners to raise the building design standards they require of developers. A lot of the new buildings going up are far too generic, more need to be unique to Southampton. Mayflower park is an embarrassment, especially since it has so much potential.

Wassup? The restaurant been burnt down and the wine nicked?
-
Its a ******** point Barry, you're 15 years out of date - the movement of people moving back into city centres has been going on for ages. In any event you think the same thing didn't happen in Southampton? Chandler's Ford, West end, Boyatt Wood etc etc
-
Which part of the graph showing the population of the wider Liverpool city region declining / stagnant didnt you see? People are moving to areas which are a bit less ****, thats all. Both Liverpool and Southampton's past is as industrial port cities so the point makes no sense.
-
And they aren't flooding into Liverpool because.....?
-
It shows that despite the growing UK population and the low cost of housing in both Liverpool and Merseyside people aren't moving there. You did and you have a nicer house than you would down south due to llack of demand, that's fine. Southampton isn't paradise, the Liverpool v Southampton argument is like two uglies battling it out over who has got the cutest nose.

Only people born in England should play for England
buctootim replied to Viking Warrior's topic in The Lounge
Cant see what the fuss is about. Either born here or spent the majority of their childhood here so they 'feel' English doesnt seem that controversial to me. -
Isnt it all a bit irrelevant. Cressington Park is nicer than Weston and Chilworth is nicer than Kensington in Liverpool. What does that prove exactly?

There is a reason British Gas shares have risen 12 fold since 1986 - three times more than the FTSE100 - and it aint because they are making low profits. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/investing/shares-and-stock-tips/9989430/Thatchers-legacy-how-has-privatisation-fared.html

Exactly. A site with houses on one side and a main road on the other was always ripe for some kind of development.

Shouldn't that be the 5ft 4" Cortesedome?

Its a discussion board, get on the One Direction teeny boards if you want unobjective adoration.

Sure agree, and Osvaldo may well be better. Just pointing out your post and was totally premature.
-
Weird logic. That means Fox is better than Julio Cesar the Brazilian national goalkeeper at QPR.

About this "It kind of reminds me of when people were saying that Ricky Van Wolfswinkle is a quality and great value for money signing in comparison to our business :mcinnes:". Osvaldo and v Wolfswinkel have achieved exactly the same so far - except van Wolfwinkel cost £5m less.
