  1. Aquascutum Enters Administration. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17744983
  2. It was the moving way you had "stuck with the club in it's darkest hours" that brought a tear to my eye. You reminded me of Cathy calling plaintively on the moors. Yes of course you deserve to know the season ticket prices. If announcing the prices late means that a few less are sold to the many thousands of new supporters who just want to see EPL football and a few more match by match tickets are available to long term fans who also stuck with the club in its darkest hours and live hundreds of miles away / work many weekends / have family committments or other reasons they cant attend every match - so much the better.
  3. Not clinging on to anything. Clearly where we are is better than where we were. Berating any manager or chairman because they didnt sign an average perfoming French second divison striker for £2.5m 10 years ago and they later turned out to be good is just the height of idiocy.
  4. But you have no idea exactly what the scouts said, how much money Drogba wanted in wages, how much cash we had to spend - or indeed what Lowe thought of Lloyd James. Its facile to try and re-interpret with the benefit of hindsight decisions made 10 years ago. Yes Drogba turned out to be a missed opportunity. Bale, Walcott and Ox Chamb were opportunities which were taken. Some you win some you lose.
  5. With your amazing potential talent spotting skills and business acumen you could be so much more than a simple lookatme on a web forum.
  6. tbf fair that is a spectacularly dumb post. Would it have made it easier to read if I had put the 'stupid' in inverted commas? So he was stupid for being a tightwad with Drogba and also culpable for not looking into the future in terms of financial security...... right o
  7. Many of you now berating Lowe for his 'stupidity' in not signing a French second division player with a good but not outstanding scoring record for £2.5m 10 years ago would have used the same stick to beat him with if he had signed and flopped. Nothing worse than hypocrites with hindsight imo.
  8. You want some kind of reward for going to football matches and drinking beer on a Saturday, on top of the discount you already had for a season ticket?
  9. Suits me. I cant get away enough to make a season ticket wothwhile but will still want to see a big number of games.
  10. 15th, though possibly as high as 10th with some exceptional additions. Wigan, QPR and WBA to go down.
  11. Surely the club have a claim against you for all those chances and crosses you missed. There is never an excuse or good reason for failing to pick up on anything......eh?
  12. Would work better if it was the body of a seal instead of a sea lion.
  13. Bugger. Note to self, must read all 62,870 posts in order to avoid embarrassment
  14. Brett de Bank is such an avid Pompey fan he apparently thought about buying Coventry as they are similalrly ****ed and play in blue. He's real enough, lives in Newport IOW. Doubt he has the wherewithall though. http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/11681-Brett-De-Bank?p=90142&viewfull=1#post90142
  15. I read it. I also watched the Saintsplayer vid. Thats what causes me concern.
  16. Yes but are they Jonno quick?
  17. You're serious arent you? 1 billion people in a continent over 100 times the size of the UK, three times the size of the whole of Europe and Saints are going to be scouting all of it...... Raidi is going to be busy.
  18. Exactly my point! East Africa is English speaking and 1000s of miles away from North African countries like Tunisia where Raidi is from, wherre his contacts are and they speak French. You dont employ a WGS to advise you on breaking into the Italian markets.
  19. Im usually relentlessly positive about all things Saints, but c'mon whereabouts the scouting / academy is going to be in a ****ing huge continent is pretty key to whether its a good idea or not. Anybody leading the project yet talking about the East Europeans speaking French, Bulgaria being in the North and Spain being English speaking would rightly raise a few issues of concern
  20. Er no it doesnt. Les Reed obviously cant point out North Africa on a map so they've employed someone who does know his Benghazi from his Safi. Good appointment, clever strategy.
  21. I dont see how Cortese can sack him. Everything he talks about and wants to do only works if their is loyalty to, and affection for, the club. You cant credibly aim to recruit the best 10 years olds, develop them over 8-10 years into first team players and get them to stay when they have better options if at the first opportunity you ditch the manager who got you back to back promotions. You have to show loyalty to get loyalty.
  22. Their mum is still alive too, even worse for her. I didnt really pay that much attention to them until his illness was publicised in the papers, and then watched a few youtube videos. They've done some great, great stuff, both in their own name and written for others - about all kinds of issues too - not just repetitive dull love songs.
  23. Would like to think we'd be in for him in the summer. Less chance if Blackpool go up.
  24. Maybe. These things are very complicated and its very easy to have unintended knock on effects. Just look at the history of alien species being introduced to new countries and the major problems it has caused. As I said in the earlier we need to do it, but more carefully and thoughtfully than at present.
