Don't know how old you are but Sussex is currently doing the 56 + age group. Should easily be 50+ by end of March imo
  2. I think that is less of an issue than it used to be because many NHS trusts are now operating their own bank system offering flexible working to ex staff nurses. Pay is often the focus of discontent in the NHS - but its not primarily about that - its more to do with being overworked and understaffed, especially for doctors. Ironically when they got a big pay increase a few years ago it worsened the shortage because then many could afford to go part time and escape the relentless pressure of 10 and 12 hour days

Its not a myth. Its just that it varies a lot drug by drug - the effects are far more specific than your average patient is going to take in, so the advice is just a blanket 'don't drink' for ease. Table 1: Significant Antibiotic-Alcohol Drug Interactions Interacting Drug Effect Recommendation sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim (Bactrim DS, Septra DS) Fast heartbeat, warmth or redness under your skin, tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting. Avoid alcohol while taking sulfamethoxazole- trimethoprim.4 metronidazole (Flagyl, Flagyl ER); metronidazole vaginal Disulfiram-like reaction: abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, flushing may occur; also possible with systemic absorption of vaginal cream. Avoid combination with alcohol or propylene glycol-containing products during treatment and for 72 hours after discontinuation of metronidazole treatment.5,6 linezolid (Zyvox) Increased risk of hypertensive crisis (dangerous elevated blood pressure). Avoid large quantities of tyramine-containing alcoholic beverages (tap beer, vermouth, red wine.)6 tinidazole (Tindamax) Disulfiram-like reaction which may include abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, flushing. Avoid combination with alcohol during treatment and for 72 hours after discontinuation of tinidazole treatment.7 cefotetan (Cefotan) Disulfiram-like reaction which may include abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, flushing. Avoid combination with alcohol during treatment and for 72 hours after discontinuation of cefotetan treatment.6 doxycycline May lead to a decreased level of doxycycline in patients who consume alcohol chronically by enhanced elimination. The mechanism appears to be induction of hepatic microsomal enzymes by alcohol. The clinical significance is unknown. Modifications to your medication doses may be needed if you drink alcohol while taking doxycycline.14 rifampin (Rifadin) Combination with alcohol may increase risk for liver toxicity. Do not drink alcohol with rifampin.8 isoniazid (Nydrazid) Increased risk of liver toxicity if daily alcohol consumption Avoid alcohol while taking isoniazid.6 benznidazole Unpleasant side effects such as abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and flushing. Do not drink alcohol while you are taking benznidazole and for at least three days after you stop taking it.11 cycloserine (Seromycin) Combination may increase risk of central nervous system toxicity; possible seizures. Avoid alcohol while taking cycloserine.6,9 erythromycin ethylsuccinate (E.E.S.) Alcohol appears to lead to this slowed "gastric emptying" when combined with erythromycin ethylsuccinate. May delay the absorption of the antibiotic into the bloodstream and lower the effect. It is not known if other erythromycin salts are affected in this way. Your doctor may prefer you avoid alcohol if you are taking erythromycin ethylsuccinate.13 ethionamide (Trecator) Combination may increase risk of central nervous system toxicity; possible psychosis. Avoid excessive alcohol while taking ethionamide.6,10 voriconazole (Vfend) (antifungal) Combination with alcohol may either increase or decrease voriconazole levels due to altered liver metabolism. Avoid voriconazole with alcohol.6 ketoconazole (Nizoral)(antifungal) Combination with alcohol may increase risk of liver toxicity and disulfiram-like reaction which may include abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, flushing Avoid ketoconazole with alcohol.6,11,12 pyrazinamide Combination with alcohol may increase risk for liver toxicity Use caution; avoid use in alcoholics or with chronic daily alcohol use.6,11 thalidomide (Thalomid) Combination with alcohol may increase risk for additive sedation, drowsiness, confusion; use caution if driving or operating machinery Avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with thalidomide
  4. Its a bit like plastic surgery. Some people have a clear and settled physical issue which can be fixed by surgery. For others its more a psychological issue where when they look in the mirror they are never happy, no matter how many times their nose is sculpted or their face lifted.
  5. You know it's going to be bad when even the artists impression looks carp

    Really? how do you know?
  7. The irony is that there is very little difference between you and religious fundamentalists -both convinced that other peoples religious beliefs are wrong.
  8. Yep I do accept that. And there is a danger of the remedy becoming worse than the problem. As I said in my previous post there is a wider issue with social media related not just to racism but to truth and hate of all kinds. I dont know what the solution is.
  9. The underlying problem is social media of which racist posts are just part. As one of the club managers said - it you post a tweet breaching copyright its taken down within 15 minutes if you post something racist, aggressive, threatening etc it can be up for days. I'm sure some of the people posting racist stuff to footballers aren't football fans. Some probably aren't even racist, they just want the thrill and attention. However football does have a particular problem with race based hate, just as pop does with hating on women for the way they look or the Daily Mail and Express do with Meghan Markle.
  10. I'm not sure what the point is or what that is relevant to. What ratio of tweets threatening old people for stinking of piss, being slow and sponging their pensions is acceptable? how about disabled - 'should've killed you at birth you useless parasite, sack of'. Is it alright if they get one a week but not one everyday. Not sure. What do you think?
  11. Open racism in the stands is nowhere near what it was because the tolerance is low and sanctions like life bans high. The reason it still flourishes on SM is because the chances of being caught and / or having a meaningful penalty are so low. Let’s not pretend though. If there are 1,000 cricket, rugby, Gridiron, pop or tennis fans drinking in a town before an event - which one is most likely to be chanting racist schitt? My partner is a doctor of Pakistani ethnicity. She’s third generation, never been to Pakistan doesn’t speak Urdu, would rather eat at Pret than eat curry, dresses as any other native born Brit and is Christian. I was born abroad but am white and blond. Which one of us is more likely to get abused or hear comments about immigrants, race or muslimes if I take her to a game?
  12. No worries Dicky
  13. Nothing. That's my point. Unless there is certified video evidence of somebody saying racist stuff and then confirming they are a football fan then we should put all our efforts into condemning a fellow poster on Saintsweb rather than the racism itself. Its not even like football even has a racism problem. Eh?
  14. Good man. Gotta stick up for people's right's without fear or favour eh? This guy didnt even like football and was just out shopping when he got lost. Probs.
  15. So you agree on the balance of probability they are Chelsea fans?
  16. Yeah you're right. It's far more likely they are outraged rugby loving chartered accountants from Wigan than Chelsea fans.

My daughters school has never stopped. They have been operating with just about half of the kids at school throughout the lockdown. No idea how or why tbh. When they have had a case both now and before lockdown they simply excluded the kid and their close contacts. They have only had one case of an infection being caught at school, so it’s been working. Maybe they’ve just been very lucky, but their case shows it’s possible
  19. Pretty much, yeah.
  20. I didnt see many / any. But then I was renting an Airbnb in the city in March and April rather than the hotels / tourist area. Dunno if its an issue there or not
  21. I want to visit Marrakech so will definitely give it a try. If you go back to Agadir both Paradise Valley and Taroudant are easy drives and really worth seeing.
  22. That's pretty much what her multi millionaire parents in LA got tbf.
  23. Its great but weird country. Regulation is for pussies. A friend of mine showed me around the very expensive house her parents were having built in a nice part of Los Angeles. Looked fantastic from the outside but inside you could see it was being built from plastic siding and plasterboard on a 4 x 2 wooden frame. When I questioned why the only insulation was a very thin and loose fleece the builder just scowled and said it 'met code' . Now its built her parents are shocked by how much it costs to heat and cool. It's one of the reasons I wanted to stay in the EU. Regardless of what you feel about the politics its feels to me like the citizens come first. In the Anglo-Saxon sphere, the US more so than here tbf, citizens only job is to buy stuff from corporations.
  24. Obviously visiting friends is a big part of it for you. but consider Agadir in Southern Morocco if you want something a bit different. Around 25-26c daytime in March. Cheap too
  25. There is a good quote about Dubai by the American writer PJ O'Rourke talking about how gaudy everything is. "I'd never been anywhere where I'd seen so much I didn't want, which surprised me because I'd always assumed I wanted most things in life".
