  1. Ha! You are completely blinkered by your jaundiced view of the club
  2. It really isn't up for debate. Bouffal, Hojbjerg, Redmond, Pied, Gabi and others I can't remember I'm sure.
  3. I expect him to continue to show improvement this season. Will start running games and our next captain.
  4. They say ignorance is bliss. How is it in bliss-land?
  5. In fairness, saints have backed every manager
  6. JWP is a top player. If we wanted to buy him, we wouldn't be able to afford him.
  7. Surely we are decreasingly small?
  8. Well choosing a manager based on his exotic sounding name is like picking a racehorse based upon the colours the jockey wears. It works some of the time.
  9. Some people have a really inflated opinion of our standing in the football world.
  10. I don't really see the point. At that price are we getting £20m more value than Jack Stephens? Both a similar level in my book. Both had about the same number of Senior appearances, although Chambers has had more at PL level.
  11. This form the man that touted Monk and Beattie as our saviours. You got what you wanted with Puel gone, and now don't like the options available. Well boo hoo.
  12. Who said he is/was our first choice? I'd be shocked if we didn't sound him out, given he's out of work and we need a manager.
  13. Well, that's one point of view. Another is we're a mid-tier PL Team with aspirations to break in to the top 6 on a regular basis. The thought that two England Internationals with European experience are not good enough is a somewhat jaundiced view. As it happens I don't think we will sign either - not our style. But if we did, I would welcome them.
  14. Seriously? People wouldn't have Smalling or Delph? Who do you guys think we are?
  15. I would take Delph. Give him a £3m signing on fee and drop his wages to £65kpw. Get him to sign a Mark Hughes contract where he's guaranteed a place when fit. Job done. Pretty sure I could do Les' job.
  16. Palace probably will. Whether they will stump up the 2 $hlongs it will take to buy him is another matter. Suspect it will have to be a loan.
  17. It turns out Les ain't Italian, but he's bought Italian. He ain't Serbian, but has bought Serbian. He ain't Portuguese, but he's bought Portuguese. He ain't Spanish, but he's bought Spanish.
  18. Look, we're all going to have concerns about whoever takes over. The fact is there aren't that many people in the world with both the appetite and the funds (or the wherewithal to raise the funds). Key isn't as wealthy as perhaps many of us thought, and is either unable or unwilling to risk more of her inheritance is displaying the ambition that so many on here call for. I can't stop what's happening and, until shown otherwise, will assume the Chinese are in it to win it instead of working myself in to a frenzy. PS not accusing you of frenziness.
  19. Good luck to the boy.
  20. I hadn't realised that. Factor that in, and we did pretty well - or rather Claude did. The squad will be better placed for that experience.
  21. Clearly the club does not release players like this on a whim. He will have been watched in his loan spells, and all the technical analysis will have been done. There is no shame on him, or the club, and hopefully we will have a sell on clause to cover the bases. It's better for him to be playing than stuck in the U23's where he will also block the progress of someone like Valery who, one suspects, the club rate more highly.
  22. Sh1t Board, Sh1t Manager, Sh1t Team, Sh1t Players. Top Forum. I do sometimes wonder how we manage to survive in the Premier League season after season.
  23. £200k says you're wrong. Destined for a decent career I think, but not the level we're looking for.
