  1. Oh, like Arsenal?
  2. I guess it depends on your definition of stripes: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/Southampton.htm
  3. Whether this true or not, it is my new favourite post. Ever.
  4. Arrgghh. Like a dagger to my heart. Going by your forum persona I suspect you don't actually laugh very much, so am pleased to have amused you so.
  5. Brigade? Personally I just took 2 minutes to research the facts. It's really not that difficult. I'm not disputing the FACT that Saints are PRESENTLY synonymous with red and white striped shirts and black shorts, and personally I would prefer it, but it really isn't worth getting that worked up about.
  6. I'm not making a point about money. It will be bought because people support the team, not the shirt. Whilst we have worn red/white stripes and black shorts predominantly, for the first 50 years as Southampton we had blue shorts so you could argue that is the most traditional. In the 1980's (arguably our most successful period) there was hardly a stripe in sight. Its not that big a deal, imo.
  7. People should not delude themselves that a poll on here is representative. My guess is we will sell tens of thousands.
  8. Out of interest what was it, and can we have it back?
  9. Don't think that many people are all that bothered, their loyalty is to the club rather than any particular kit.
  10. Bent had his chance
  11. Can one fly from Glasgae to Southampton?
  12. I wish there was a like button. Post of the close season so far. (please do not take this as an overall endorsement of your posting style)
  13. Birmingham Bury Oldham Trafford Walsall Orient Brentford etc etc Big clubs? Big Cities? Pointless argument???

Well, if we'd managed to keep Walcott, Bale and Chamberlain, then 5 of the current first team would be Academy Graduates. It's not so far fetched is it? It does rely on holding on to our best product though.
  15. 8/11 now on Skybet. Hmmm.....
  16. Is he 21 in real years, or 21 in Kanu years?
  17. I too seem to be working across all platforms and browsers. Cheers
  18. Its in the settings menu. I've tried Facebook on and off, InPrivate on and off, Logged in and out, IE, Chrome, IOS; all seem to work intermittently and then not. IE was perfect yesterday, but this morning is ten times slower. All seemed to happen after the last board maintenance event.
  19. When he kicks the sh1t out of the opposition: You've got that Lovren Feeling Whoah that Lovren feeling You've got that Lovren feeling Something something something Whoa ohhh oh. Da do da do da doo Won't be singing it myself, but there you go.
  20. I thought he was already signed on a youth contract. He is contracted, but can sign a full professional contract when he's 18. Or I might just have dreamed it.
  21. In my experience, corporate life is much more about cock-up than conspiracy.
  22. Calm down dear. It's just a theory. How is life in monochrome?
  23. Look, this is sports journalism we're talking about. It's easy to see how a standard interview with Cortese, in which he says: * We've achieved our 5 year plan 1 year early, so it's appropriate to have a review meeting to plan the next part of the project * We need to align the investment strategy with the sporting and infrastructure plans to ensure its all properly funded * My own contract will also be part of the review Becomes: * Uncertainty surrounds future funding * Cortese is unsure if owners plans match his own * NC's future at the club is in doubt None of which is untrue. There need not have been any "placing" of articles, just one journo looking to make a name for himself. As so many have said, it goes against everything we've seen of NC and the Liebherrs in their tenure. Mountains and molehills.
  24. Well, he didn't threaten to leave did he? He said if Cortese wasn't there it wouldn't be right for him to be there. He was asked a straight question and gave a straight answer. People chose to interpret it as a threat to leave. Mountains and molehills. Still it, must stick in the craw of famous Pompey fan Mr Darke.
