Anyone who can't see how important Lambert was to our game yesterday doesn't understand football. Fact.

Har-de-bloody-har. You crack me up. Papering over the cracks of being 9th and 7 points ahead of 10th.

What are you suggesting - that Saints fans on a Saints Message board see things from a Saints point of view? Whatever next. What we really need is some self-appointed Bubble-bursters a to keep everyone else grounded. Ideal candidates would be those with about 17000 posts and nothing else to do but take a contrary view to everyone else.

Ha. Brilliant. Happy fishing.

Villa play that way against everyone, home and away. They got very very lucky against us.

I spy pictures of Clyne, Lovren and Buruc (wearing keepers gloves) in training.
-
He's showing the same kind of indecision that de Gea did in his first season - and no I'm not comparing the two in any other way. It's difficult for young keepers to command and show the necessary presence we associate with experienced peers. The staff see him every day and know what he's capable of. Time will tell if he shows it in the pressure cooker of the Premier league, but there is truly only one way to find out. All keepers make mistakes which inevitably lead to goals. I'm prepared to give the kid time

Southampton in talks with German international midfielder Aaron Hunt
Faz replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
For the life of me I can't understand why we are investing so many millions in the new player research facility at Staplewood. So utterly pointless when all we have to do is call Glasgow Saint and tap his encyclopaedic player database and bank of winning betting slips. -
For £140pm you could actually go to every game (certain assumptions accepted)

Bugger. Need to spend more time on here.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10459627/Red-Bull-putting-their-name-to-a-Premier-League-team-would-be-another-step-in-commercialising-the-sport.html Whadya think? Would you sell your soul for gazillions of investment and European success? Would Torro Rosso Southampton FC be better? We wouldn't have to change the club colours (perhaps the move away from stripes was all part of the master plan; eh conspiracy theorists??

We won't buy a left back for the foreseeable future. We won't buy a keeper until the summer. We might buy a top class CB.

Agreed. Was saying the same. He's a one trick pony. Lallana on the other hand.......

Posh Spice is a slapper Her knickers smell of cod And when she's ****ging Beckham She thinks of our JRod Totally fair comparison if you ask me.
-
It is Fox this season, and will be Targett next. There is not a chance of us buying someone who is going to block Targett's route. The Southampton way.
-
seriously? Up front on his own against Shawcross and Huth?
-
Silva has the best cross completion rate, but because JWP attempts more crosses per game he has more successful crosses in total.

Part of the reason Clyne bombed on against Fulham was to create space behind him for the ball to be played back to JWP so he could whip in his crosses from deep. Not the most subtle of tactics, but it has it's place and difficult to stop.

As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
Faz replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
In reply to the OP, YES! Confirmed by today's performance I should say. -
For the life of me I can't see where this "Gaston doesn't work hard" thing has come from. I've never seen him not put a shift in. The issue for me is that he wants too much time and needs to be sharper in his decision making. The quote when he was bought was that we wanted to build the team around him. That clearly ain't happening any time soon, so I guess we'd all be pretty miffed in that position.

I shall be saving this quote for later use.
