  1. Surely they'll feel safer on 40 points than 37 points? Anyway, just a different opinion. I can see the pros and cons in both outcomes as it happens (guys and gals)
  2. I'd rather we got a win next week than worry about what we might need the game after.
  3. If Stoke win today then our game turns into a must win for Sunderland
  4. @pn_neil_allen: Tut, tut, look at that Brentford pitch invasion. #Pompey
  5. Hi Essruu - cheers for the reply - the 3 deal did catch my eye but wasn't sure how good their country wide coverage is . For example, the missus is going up to the Lake District in June and wants data access in remote parts of the hills up there. That said, I guess most mobile service providers might struggle in remote areas. Thanks again
  6. My biggest worry is how to explain my hitherto secret end of season gambling habit to the current Mrs Trousers should I win £8,000 if we get relegated!
  7. Hello technophiles.... Wonder if anyone can help.... The current Lady Trousers has an iPhone 3GS (on O2 PAYG) and an iPad 2 (WiFi only model) She wants to be able to use her iPad to connect to the internet whilst "out and about" but not within range of a suitable WiFi signal.... So, I think the two options are: (a) buy a new SIM for her iPhone 3GS that gives her data tethering facilities (i.e. the ability to generate a personal WiFi hotspot which she can then connect her iPad to) - unlike my iPhone 4GS, she doesn't get the "personal hotspot" option in 'settings' - I assume this is due to it not being allowed as part of her Pay As You Go tariff.. (?) or (b) buy a separate 'MiFi' dongle doo-dah device that she can connect the iPad to Any recommendations on the best solution in given the starting position? Cheers, Trousers (Lord) p.s. am looking for the cheapest solution for c.1 GB per month average usage
  8. I just remembered where I got the "c.£3m" figure from..... this tweet from Tony Husband when the figures were published in March: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?43668-Saints-financial-figures&p=1639871#post1639871 My understanding is that the figures published in March weren't the regulatory annual company figures but disclosure of figures required by the Premier League (??). So, maybe that could account for figures included that are later in the financial year? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, that's where I got the figure from. Could be related to the BVI loan, or maybe not...?
  9. Didn't the recent accounts show it to be c.£3m in the end? Lectures about financial restraint from Pompey fans? I've been needing a good laugh since yesterday's result so pass on my thanks for that one. #factless
  10. I was going to have a BBQ next Sunday but I'm not going to bother now because there's a 20% chance it might rain. Best to be pessimistic I reckon.
  11. Seeng this just brought a tear to my eye....
  12. I think your ability to predict the future should be applauded.
  13. That would be valid if you also hope to win the bet.
  14. The advantage of being a pessimist is that you can say "I told you so" when right, and "I'm glad I was proved wrong" when wrong. Win win.
  15. I stuck my WBA winnings (£100) on relegation at 80-1 last week. Never in the history of mankind has someone wished they don't win £8,000...
  16. Sunderland 1 Saints 3
  17. A Sunderland win. Will make them less desperate to beat us next week.
  18. Difficult from the bench I'd have thought
