Unfortunately, to date, neither party has been in a position to complete its desired acquisition of the Club. 5.4 In the case of Portpin, the Football League has advised the Administrators that it has not received all of the information it has requested of Portpin, in order for it to give the necessary sanction to any sale. 5.5 In the case of the PST, the sale of the Club to PST is contingent on the inclusion (in the sale) of the Club's ground, commonly known as Fratton Park, which is the subject of purported debenture security in favour of Portpin. 5.6 There being no other parties capable of completing a purchase of the Company's business and assets, on 16 November 2012, the Joint Administrators made an application to the High Court under Paragraph 71 of Schedule B1 of the Act requesting that the Company's assets be sold as if they were not subject to Portpin's purported security. A hearing was listed for an expedited two day trial to take place on 13 and 14 December 2012. On the afternoon prior to the hearing R Estates changed material terms for the acquisition of the Property, in particular, the dates of completion. The Joint Administrators were left with no option but to seek an adjournment to enable them to take stock. The hearing has therefore been adjourned until 15 January 2013 and negotiations between the parties continue.

The judge has already shown sympathy (bias??) towards the Trust's bid by setting a "latest date" of 19th April. In one of the press releases yesterday it was stated that the natural course of things (if Pompey were a "normal" company ) would have been a date later in the spring or even early summer. So, given the judge is seemingly bending over backwards to help the club survive (under Trust plans), indicates to me that he's got his eye on an outcome that is sympathetic to the Trust's bid. Lots of reading between the ones there but the judge had the opportunity yesterday to treat Pompey the same way he'd treat any other company but he chose not to... I'm therefore expecting the judge to rule in favour of Portpin's charge being diluted to £3m. What happens then is anyone's guess...?

Even Mr Ho concurred with the content of the article. I never thought I'd live to see the day where a Pompey fan admitted their FA Cup win (and other hollow victories) were based on unsustainable finances and "fraudulent" support of said practices. Time to get the "they get it after all" bunting out perhaps?
