I went through similar with my son at the same age... Happened to coincide with our slide down to League One and away days Vs Dagenham & Redbridge, so maybe tell your son l "it could be worse!"... He's now in his 20s and actually thanks me for "forcing" him to support Saints as he'd rather support a 'proper' football team than one of the plastics. Persevere!
