Indeed. And watch when, yet again, our observations today get labelled as hindsight the next time they go into Administration...

I put it to you Sir that you haven't been following this thread very closely... There have been plenty of 'nutjobs' on here who have declared their pending respect for a fan run club, but there are two routes that lead to that eventuality. There's the "cling onto the current rotting carcass to preserve our league status at all costs" route and there's the "start afresh with a clean slate in a lower league" route. If you really want people to applaud the noble ambition of fan ownership them do it the honourable way rather than clinging onto damaged goods. Like every football fan the world over, Portsmouth fans' ultimate priority over the last few years has been to preserve an artificial position in the league structure rather than striving to rid the club of the stranglehold that dubious owners have placed on the club. All the Trust are doing at the moment is putting off the inevitable. If you'd listened to those on here a couple of years ago advocating that you should do exactly what you're now asking us to admire then you'd be looking up by now rather than staring down into the abyss. I know this view gets labelled as hindsight by many a Pompey fan but the hindsight card is typically played by people too lazy or stupid to have worked out what was foreseeable and/or inevitable in the first place. Start again from scratch and you'll get all the respect you crave...

In Portsmouth it's called a 'thousand'

My levels of ambivalence about whether a football kit is good or bad are unchanged.

Just a minor glitch then?!

@pn_neil_allen: Hermann returns to #Pompey training today in a bid to win a deal. His agent insists he is fit and will play for nothing 'to begin with'.

I had the same thought last night. Whilst online seat selection is a step forward they don't seem to have a safeguard in place to prevent single seats being left unsold. Most theatre ticket booking systems won't let you chose seats online that then leave a single seat for sale. Quite a simple enhancement or config update to the software I'd have thought.

It all sounds a bit hit and miss as it was borderline unusable last night. Maybe they were doing some maintenance on the site or such like. Will see if I fare any better next time.

I used the online ticket system for the first time last night (to buy a couple of Villa tickets). One word: abysmal Extremely slow to load up each page; jumps off the page you're on at random; click to select a seat and it takes over 30 seconds to register than you've selected it (if you're lucky); eventually select two seats...get bombed off the site before checkout...go back in...the seats you just chose are now marked as 'blocked by ticketing' (the seats turn orange rather than grey)...start the whole process all over again and have to select a different pair of seats because the previous ones stay marked as 'blocked'. Eventually got tickets after half a dozen tries. Remind me...this is the 21st century, isn't it?

Btw, Tapatalk allows me to make more than 3 posts a day as a non-member, which is nice... ;-)

And, of course, a 7 figure sum in Pompeyland is, in reality, a 4 figure sum once you've taken into account the dilution effect of 2 CVAs...

Any volunteers to email the organisers to fill them in with the salient details...?

@pn_neil_allen: Appleton confirms Hermann Hreidarsson coming back to #Pompey on trial. More later.

Another point for 'Team Reality' vs 'You Couldn't Make It Up'. Here's hoping the bus pulls up for a photo opportunity outside Fatpipe Park.

Try and beat my record of keeping them on the line for as long as possible. I managed to get one call to last over 30 minutes once.
