  1. Alec Crook (the chap who got the Kelvin Davis interview) tweeted last night that Lallana was unlikely to be available for selection
  2. It was first mooted on twitter 2 days ago so it must be true... @oriolvidal23: Pochettino wants to bring Southampton to Barcelona to do a stage. The team would train at Lluís Companys from tuesday to saturday. #saintsfc
  3. There will be a 64 page debate with a mixture of people arguing for each of the above options going around in circles until they are blue in the face. HTH
  4. Fancy giving the nation's media a quick call as they seem to be under a misapprehension...
  5. Does seem like a break from tradition. The interview with Davis appears to have been syndicated to several tabloids too.
  6. The Daily Mail takes a slightly different angle... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2265624/Southamptons-new-boss-Mauricio-Pochettino-needs-interpreter-speak-English.html
  7. Extended version of the same interview in the Sun... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4754301/Saints-keeper-pleads-with-protesting-fans-after-Adkins-axe.html
  8. @Lord_Trousers: @alex_crook Any team news for tomorrow? @alex_crook: @Lord_Trousers lallana and fonte not fit. Would expect Lambert and ramirez to start

  11. How do we know that Cortese didn't suggest fronting the press conference but Pochittino felt happier doing it on his own to avoid a media bun fight? Granted, suggesting that Cortese decided not to attend without giving Pochittino the option is a valid assumption, but that's all it is...a valid assumption.
  12. ^This
  13. It wouldn't surprise me if we lost too. But....I was thinking the same before Adkins got the chop - I had this game down as a banana skin - just a hunch. No doubt a defeat will be blamed on the 'turmoil' of Friday's events and the notion that we may have lost the game anyway under Adkins will be largely swept under the carpet.
  14. Good news! I get to withdraw my facepalm and deploy it elsewhere
  15. Latest score: People banging on about moving on 37 People banging on about people banging on about moving on 38 All to play for.
  16. Something about hovercrafts and eels but not entirely sure
  17. Yeah, fair point. As I hit the 'enter' button I suspected that I had posted my first piece of twaddle in 72 hours....
  18. Depends what the TV series in question is I guess. Some TV show 'box sets' are available on the likes of Now TV, LOVEfilm, Netflix, etc
  19. @pn_neil_allen: Interesting SCMP article on Hong Kong pals Yeung and Chainrai. Remember their hijack of Brum FA Cup game well. #Pompey http://t.co/YRtGjnk9
  20. Not necessarily. That assumes that Adkins wouldn't have taken us down too. We'll never know what would've happened under Adkins so the 'worst' accusation we can levy at Cortese if we go down is that it "didn't work". Doesn't mean he was "wrong" per se. Subtle difference IMO.
  21. And he qualified a superlative to boot...
  22. We can sulk, we can hurl insults, wave white handkerchiefs, whinge away in cyberspace or we can do what Nigel always said: "Draw a blue line under it all and move on." Amen.
  23. Why are we the only club in history to never benefit from 'new manager syndrome'...?
  24. Cue "because Cortese will have insisted on a golden handcuff deal"...(which is quite possibly true!)
  25. Again, not condoning the way it was handled, but has it crossed anyone's mind that Adkins might be privately hugely relieved that Cortese has brought things to an end sooner rather than later? If we're to believe everything we've read, the underlying tension must have been almost overwhelmingly draining, even to someone as outwardly positive as our Nige.
