  1. I think it's more common practice than you think....I've certainly got several examples in recent times from people I know who have had their wrists slapped by their employer for posting stuff that could be seen as derogatory to their employer.
  2. @JFBLucas: RT @alex_crook: Have spoken to Kelvin Davis for tomorrow's papers. Says #saintsfc players are '100 per cent behind' Pochettino Cue "we'll, he wouldn't say otherwise would he?"
  3. That reminds me, one of the intellectually challenged presenters on TalkSport last night was saying that Cortese's statement on the OS smacked of him trying to build a team on the cheap because he wants to get more academy players coming through to the first team squad....
  4. Was listening to TalkSport last night (yes, I know, I'll repent my sins in due course) and their ignorance about the ownership situation was astounding. Before these people spout their rhetoric it might be an idea to do some research first rather than jumping on the headline grabbing media bandwagon. But this is TalkSport I'm talking about here so we're in Bob Hope territory on that one...
  5. We'll probably never know. Adkins was infamous for being obtuse as far as commenting on transfers was concerned. Does Gazza satisfy the "one or maybe two" criteria?
  6. Nothing unusual in a boss telling their staff not to comment about goings on in an organisation on social media networks. Happens all the time in the 'real' world. It's only in the pantomime world of football that a boss telling a player to remove something from Twitter is deemed newsworthy.
  7. If that article is to be believed, it's clear to me that Adkins wanted to retain Davis as his number one keeper whereas Cortese didn't. I don't see that position at odds with Adkins saying he wanted to bring in "one maybe two" keepers in addition to retaining Davis as No.1.
  8. I bet Cortese is loving being talked about in the same breath as Chelsea and Abramovich...who'd have thought that 3 years ago....
  9. He predicted a 0-2 defeat before the news about Adkins broke. He hasn't changed that prediction ergo he doesn't believe the change of manager will have an effect on the outcome of the game. However, no doubt if we end up losing 0-2 as he predicts there will be a section of fans saying: "There you go, Lawro was right about the negative impact of Adkins' sacking"... Lawro suggests changing the manager will have a negative impact yet doesn't reflect that in his prediction.
  10. He was predicting 0-2 before Adkins was sacked
  11. Wasn't it you trying to convince people the pope was Catholic too...?
  12. He can claim to be first UK journo to latch onto what turned out to be a week old story I guess...
  13. Here here
  14. Come on WBA
  15. Its only underhand if Nigel didn't have a clue what was going on. My GUESS is that he knew at the end of last season what Cortese planned to do this season. I GUESS the only thing Adkins didn't know was exactly when the axe would fall. Just me making things up though so take with a pinch of salt...
  16. Utter madness...
  17. I know. I was at that meeting.
  18. Neither
