He does come across as well on screen as he does in print - a decent chap by the sounds of it. Also good to see him admitting back then that if they didn't agree a CVA they would / should get -15 points deducted when relegated to the Championship. Given they've only got a pending -10 for doing the equivalent (i.e. not honouring said CVA) then I'm sure he'll agree they got off lightly (for the 2009/2010 administration). All we need now is an admission that their owners cheated their way to two FA Cup finals and our work here is done

Southend Utd.....Another team that are missing the Pompey trick..... http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/blues/9972404.Draw_with_Barnet_highlights_Southend_United_s_player_shortage/?ref=rss Surely they just need to field a few ex-Premier League players for next to nothing on monthly contracts....? Problem solved...

Agree. The Tories: often great ideas, often poorly executed. Maybe we should privatise the implementation wing of political parties and the civil service to make the delivery part of it more efficient and effective....

It would have been more embarrassing if we'd sold out..... if we'd sold out a Sunday lunchtime fixture vs Fulham we'd be showing the nation that the good people of the South of England have nothing better to do on a Sunday lunchtime than watch a game of football. By keeping a few thousand seats unoccupied we were able to demonstrate that we have a much less narrow minded demography.

Trousers thinks about posting a highly amusing movie scene photo but restrains himself in the interests of not splitting fellow forum members' sides.

This is a 'charge' that has been levied at this thread in the past and, yes, of course it's true that the fact the years of cheating involves our nearest and dearest rivals is what has maintained the interest levels this long. Guilty as charged m'lud. But I guess the logical retort is: "so what?". Most discussion topics in all walks of life have a cataylst that keeps them going - this one happens to be Pompey. It's also more interesting and easier to understand than rocket science. Just about. Btw, welcome to the message board - an interesting first post for a Saints fan

BBC Solent Sport @solentsport #saintsfc Southampton's St Mary's Stadium confirmed as one of 17 potential match venues for the 2015 Rugby World Cup: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/19868520 … I see Fratton Park hasn't made the shortlist.....must have been a close run thing....if only they'd spent the money they didn't have on a new stadium rather than building a "competitive" team they couldn't afford....

Bob Beech @bobbeech @tSKeysandGray@talkSPORTDrive Still think Pompey lived beyond their means & cheated? http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/portsmouth/fb_news.php?storyid=18346#.UHJ9axyoObh.twitter … Erm..... how does unearthing what 'really' happened suddenly erase all the cheating? Cheating is cheating whether you've got dubious people at the helm or not. The real 'crime' is that you (the fans) chose to turn a blind eye at the time it was happening...

^ This (although I'd be tempted to go with Steven Davis given he already does the job at international level)

Baker Tilly nearing the end of their forensic investigation....the majority of which seems to be paraphrased in advance on a Pompey fan blog....coincidently at the same time that the FL are supposedly ratifying the Portpin bid...during which time Birch has gone silent... Hmmmm.... Carlsberg don't do big fat coincidences, but if they did... P.s. where was this Pompey blogger chap 3 years ago...?

My interpretation of that interview was that he was simply saying we'd now got 'a' third keeper rather than 'the' third keeper. I may have got the wrong end of the stick though.

I like what i've seen so far of Gazza but do we know why Boruc isn't getting a look in? Simply a case of Adkins keeping faith with Gazza and Kelvin until we get an injury or 'something else'?
