Indeed. If only we didn't have all those "the forum isn't working" posts clogging things up..... ;-)

Thank heavens for that. The country needs a thriving banking industry to recover.... ;-) -

Ah yes....the halcyon days of springs up your arse and an arctic draft coming through the slam doors. And as for the sauna like carriages in the summer...I do miss that musky smell... -

I wish! As it happens, I'm on my 'usual' train home from London as we speak. Have been doing the same commute for 25 years now. You are indeed correct in alluding to a difference between the train service when I first started (1986) and now. Up until privatisation of the South Western division of 'Network SouthEast' in 1996 the service was very unreliable. Since taken over by Stagecoach it has got progressively better. So, in summary for my train line: Public sector: cost less, deliver less Private sector: cost more, deliver more I know which one I prefer -

Something the public sector is just as adept at as the private sector.... ;-) -

Unless the whole episode was dreamt up by Howe and the Bournemouth board to galvanise the players and supporters ahead of a promotion push? Nobody forced Howe to talk to other clubs. What better way to inject some fresh imputus and feel-good-factor into a club: Manager talks to other 'bigger' clubs....manager declines offer(s) and is hailed a loyal hero by club's supporters....club rides on the crest of a wave of enthusiasm to sneak automatic promotion ahead of rival 'local' club... Nah....that's much too far fetched Trousers.....

Cheers. All a bit strange....a man who seems happy to to be linked with various jobs but never takes one up (or indeed never gets formally offered one...?)

Common sense prevails... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12159581 A student who admitted throwing a fire extinguisher from the roof of a central London building during the student fees protests has been jailed. Edward Woollard, 18, from Hampshire, was among protesters who broke into the Tory party headquarters and emerged on the roof during on 10 November. He was jailed for two years and eight months after admitting at an earlier hearing to committing violent disorder.

In my opinion, we allowed dagenham to get back in the game as a result of losing momentum when we started to make substitutions in the final quarter of the game. As such, If we are, say, 1 nil up tonight with 20 minutes to go and still playing well I would be happier for Nigel to refrain from making subs until absolutely necessary. I doubt that will happen though as most managers these days seem to instinctively default to making subs on and around the 60 - 70 minute mark almost because they can rather than because they need to. IMHO of course....

I hate to say it but given that probabilty and logic dictate that any side in this division is unlikely to go unbeaten away from home during the second half of the season I see this game as one of a few that is 'lose-able'. Therefore, I'm gonna predict a 2-1 defeat on the basis that it's better to get our 'inevitable' away defeat out of the way now than later in the season. And if anyone understands that logic then please can they explain it to me first! :-)

Another one today..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12157768 Former Labour MP Eric Illsley has admitted he fraudulently claimed more than £14,000 in parliamentary expenses. He pleaded guilty to three false accounting charges over claims for council tax, maintenance, repairs and utility bills for his second home. Illsley, appearing at Southwark Crown Court, previously denied all charges. -
Just saw your post above after my last post. Exactly the scenario I was highlighting - there were several other examples too. As I say, not a criticism of the players as it's good to see such confidence running through the team but something I'm sure Adkins would have covered in the debrief

Have just watched the highlights again (yes, they're that good!)... a couple of observations: (a) both our goals were the result of superb interceptions in midfield, an area we now seem to be commanding unlike earlier in season and (b) there were several ocasions were our players took a shot at goal when there was an unmarked Saints player in a better position to their left or right. In one respect it's encouraging that our players are so full of confidence now that they want a pop at goal but I'm convnced that we'd have had 2 or 3 more goals if the square pass had been made instead.

I use the 'latest topics' view on tapatalk for this very reason. It lists threads in most recent post order regardless of whether it's a sticky or not. Highly recommended :-)

What, like those of us who post 'get out more' on 'too many stickies' threads...? ;-)

Would Alpine Saint be happy to pay £5 for a facility he'd never use though? (sorry alps, couldn't resist...) :-)
