No, we owe Lowe a debt of gratitude if anything. Without his actions over the preceding years we wouldn't be where we are today (i.e. a vibrant debt free club on the up). Thank you Mr Lowe.

I must say, Oldham didn't look at the races. That of course could have been down to us playing them out of the game rather than them having an off day per se....

officialsaints Fancy watching over 6 and a half minutes of highlights from last nights 6-0 win? See all the goals here -> http://bit.ly/fKk9Bj #saintsfc

Cortese kept his word regarding Lallana. I see no reason why he shouldn't do the same with Chamberlain.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9269293.stm Cortese added "he could not see any players leaving in January", including midfielders Adam Lallana, who has been linked with Birmingham, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is being trailed by Arsenal. "I can't see a possibility we would sell Adam in January," said Cortese, "and Alex is not going to go anywhere - we're talking about a very young player in the first year of a professional contract. "We'll have to cope with the rumours and we have to help the kid cope with the rumours. He's very well looked after and I don't think he'd wish to be anywhere else than here. "We're very proud to see the progress he's made in such a short period [but] there's still a lot for him to learn, and he's aware of that. We've got a great prospect for the future, but not the transfer market.

Or post it here first for free expert proof reading.... ;-)

"SOUTHAMTON" in the headline.... :-) Good read though

Happy to explain.... My rationale (aka "gut feel") is that I can't see Brighton losing at home to Peterborough, despite Peterborough doing "pretty well" at the moment (Brighton aren't performing too shabbily themselves at the moment either....) Ergo, I would be surprised if we went top of the league at the weekend. That said, 24 hours ago I'd have been surprised if we put 6 past Oldham....

Who is your mate's source? Cheers

Welsh international Doble? And I'm sure if we'd asked the same question this time last year and someone came back with the answer: "Chamberlain" we'd have been underwhelmed about that too...
-
"Get on board, get on board Get on board with the double deckers" We can keep this one up our sleeves for after we've won the league and cup double.

Just told my 10 year old son the score. Don't think I've ever seen a broader smile on his face.

Does indeed seem to be on the cards: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Axed-Preston-manager-Darren-Ferguson-is-set-for-a-sensational-second-stint-as-manager-of-Peterborough-the-club-he-left-after-a-fall-out-with-the-hierarchy-just-over-15-months-ago-article670925.html Fergie Jnr returns to Peterborough Darren Ferguson is set for a sensational return as Peterborough boss after an amazing offer from the League One outfit. Ferguson took Posh to back-to-back promotions and into the Championship before a fall-out with the hierarchy cost him his job just over 15 months ago. But now the son of Manchester United chief Sir Alex is in talks with Peterborough’s owners about a dramatic second spell in charge at London Road – and he seems sure to accept.

Liverpool’s director of football strategy Damien Comolli watched the 17-year-old score against Oldham last night in the Saints' 6-0 drubbing at Boundary Park - but was joined in the stands by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Double figures anyone?! Bournemouth are away to Colchester on Friday night so we could be back in 3rd come Saturday. Brighton are at home to Peterborough so chances of us going top this weekend are pretty slim I'd have thought.
