FFS Sky. Why don't they quote Cortese and Adkins instead? i.e. "Chamberlain is not leaving (in January)" [Cortese, Dec 2010] and "No one is leaving the building (this month)" [Adkins, Jan 2011]

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12205690 A former Swiss banker has passed on data containing account details of 2,000 prominent people to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. According to a report in Swiss newspaper Der Sonntag, the data covers multinationals, financial firms and wealthy individuals from many countries, including the UK, US and Germany, and covers the period 1990-2009.

Students: Take note. Here's a clever way of protesting as opposed to the ingenious tactic of creating random chaos in the centre of London..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-12204369

Agreed. Thus he should get 10x greater sentence than the Fire Extinguisher student (rather than the student getting 10x less)

Just had an item about this on the BBC news channel

Either way, I anticipate there being a knee jerk reaction on here....

Would Lallana now be injured if he had been rested for the Blackpool game? Or was his injury something that would have happened anyway rather than happening as a result of too many matches? Who knows....

Erm...unless I'm missing something simple, "Chambo" could end the speculation at the drop of a hat if he so desired. Something along the lines of: "Dear Newspapers, I am not leaving Saints this month. Love, Chambo" HTH

Permission granted kind Sir. As long as I'm allowed to practice on myself every now and then....

Here's a "cup half full" view.... Lallana getting an injury now, that could keep him out for several weeks, could end up being a blessing in disguise.... To me, we were always going to be in danger of burning Lallana out over the next few months, especially with the FA Cup still on the radar. Despite having a squad rotation system (of sorts) in place, Adam was always going to be first name on the team sheet for EVERY game. Now he's got a period of enforced rest, him coming back in February/March for the final quarter of the season could well work out in our favour as he will be fresh again. Of course, this 'positive thinking' view on the situation is based on the assumption that the team will be able to stay in touch with the automatic promotion berths in the meantime. Every cloud....

Any indication on timescales? i.e. 'Imminent' or 'likely to go to the wire at the end of Jan'? cheers

3 months is "sooner" than 6 months...

But if it's speculation that may mean it's true, surely? If it's categorically "not correct" that makes it a lie rather than speculation...?

This'll teach us for not concentrating 100% on the league...

Anyway...we much prefer coming from behind....

Not anymore....I've just phoned every single one of them and there will be no more replies. Fact.

That's good news given our last couple of away results...

This thread would have been far more amusing if no one had replied...

This has got 0-0 written all over it...

Dodgy Trousers analogy alert.... Let's say someone had a son or daughter who used to play an instrument at the top level for their age group and then had a serious illness or accident. They then go through several years of recovery and rehabilitation and are finally able to start to playing the instrument again but, because of the trauma they have been through it almost like learning again from square one. I know those early days of success would make me very proud. I wouldn't be sitting there thinking: "That's good son but you're not back up to the standard you were before the accident/illness". Ok, bad analogy, perhaps, but those who mock fellow supporters who feel a sense of pride in where our football team is at the moment aren't looking at the bigger picture IMHO.

I do understand that sentiment. However, given the below two scenarios, I would prefer a 'safe' second place slot to a 'risky' first place slot: Scenario 1 Before the last day of the season, Saints lie in top spot but it's tight and they are only 2 points above the play-off berths, so need a win on the last day of the season to secure automatic promotion and the title. Scenario 2 Before the last day of the season, Saints lie in 2nd place. They are 4 points off top spot so can't win the title but they are also 4 points ahead of 3rd place so are guaranteed automatic promotion regardless of final game results. It would be 'scenario 2' for me every time. Ok, I appreciate these 2 scenarios are fairly contrived and/or selective to highlight my point, but I would be surprised if many Saints fans preferred 'Scenario 1' coming into the last game of the season....?
