They won't get away with slacking under the Tories
-
Anyway, why does Alan Johnson want to spend less on the NHS going forward than the nasty Tories.....?
-
I know I'm bound to say this (being the biased selfish Tory toff that I am) but Milliband does look way out of his depth. My 10 year old could read his script more convincingly than he does.

Mr Claridge asesses the Chamberlain situation in his video blog today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/steveclaridge/2011/01/claridge_kicks_off_10.html "Absolutely no way should that lad be moving" "He's not Theo Walcott. Theo was way ahead of him at that age. And we've seen how long it's taken Theo to settle at Arsenal" "He's at a very, very good club that will probably get promoted" Nothing earth shattering there then

FFS. Anyone got a list of Premier League clubs who haven't been linked with Chamberlain (yet)?
-
I actually think no news is potentially good news as it could mean they are playing mind games with our next opponents. Why tell Tranmere how to prepare for Saturday's game? We'll get a few video clips of the team training tomorrow so we can play 'spot the limp' then... :-)

Hampshire County Council rationalising to the tune of £55m in 2011/12
trousers replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
Good point - puts these "efficiency savings" into perspective.....a whole county council cutting back less than half of Pompey's debts - perhaps this country's deficit isn't as big (psychologically) as we imagine.... -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-12223558 In Hampshire, staff and unions are being consulted over the job cuts which affect 8% of the workforce. The authority says it plans to save £7m by cutting senior management, implement a recruitment freeze and save £10m by renegotiating contracts. "Included within this programme are plans to reduce our pay bill, which makes up 51% of our overall budget." He said it hoped to achieve this through voluntary measures and minimise compulsory redundancies. "But sadly there will be some staff who will face compulsory redundancy," he added. Other savings include a reduction in the county council subsidy it gives commercial bus operators to run less used services. Budgets for child protection, highways maintenance and schools will be protected, the authority said.

Ah. Good spot! So, in conclusion....he's a mediocre League 2 player then

Monday Tuesday By jove, it's now Wednesday and no news.....

http://unofficialbulls.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=24421 "Manset is useless anyway. He went 12 games without scoring at the start of the season and always looks knackered after 30 minutes" "For any premiership/Championship/league One scouts or managers trawling this board for our views on M Manset, he is rubbish. He still looks knackered after 30 minutes-indeed he is blowing hard on BullsPlayer after a mere three minutes on Saturday." "To be fair to Manset though, Pitman's been playing him out of position. An experienced manager would play him out on the left wing, where he can use his pace and slight build to brush past defenders and whip in crosses for our more prolific strikers." Hmmmm.....that last comment makes him look an ideal candidate to replace Puncheaon and/or Chamberlain (but, of course, they're not leaving the building, are they...?)

Nah...can't be true. The perceived wisdom on here is that the best non-league players are not good enough for League 1 (e.g. Crawley's Tubbs) let alone a Championship side... ;-)

The ever accurate Daily Mail reporting today that Burnley have tabled a (revised?) bid of £1.2m for Austin

Being happy is not unequivocal though, is it? I was happy at my last job but still moved on to another one because I thought I'd be even happier. Turned out I was right. Nothing needed in writing. Just a painfully simple one line statement to then press from the Chamberlains would suffice: "I/he is staying at Saint for the rest of the season" That said, part of me suspects that the club (Cortese) are happy to let the speculation grow (indeed, he MAY even have something to do with stoking up the story) as we'll come put the other side as a force to be reckoned with (if he stays of course)
-
And our current manager is Bryan Flower. WTF? More inaccuracies on that site than a Labour war dossier...
-
True. Was just highlighting a fact though.
-
Yep, noticed this too.

I've noticed that Facebook has been generally sluggish all round over the last few weeks (on a standard PC internet browser as well as the iPhone app). So I think it's more to do with Facebook server(s) rather than the client app on the iPhone or the iPhone OS
-
Indeed - I said the very same the other day. This is the ONLY fact we know regarding this whole episode. Either Alex or his Dad could have put this speculation to bed at any time IF they had wanted to. They have chosen to not to. Fact.
