Good to see bankers paying more money back to the Exchequer. The more they get paid the quicker the country recoups Labour's debt. Win win.

I've just checked my SaintsWeb Forum edition of Top Trumps and "spoken to him" definately beats "heard from people close(ish)" by some margin Now, had it been 'wing span' things would have been a lot tighter....

Close....

If he means a higher level "next season" rather than "the rest of this season" then we're still in the frame

World Cup winners: Brazil: 5 Italy: 4 Germany: 3 Uruguay: 2 Argentina: 2 England: 1 France: 1 Spain: 1 Who would you rather be in the next World Cup? Uruguay or Spain? Case closed.

Problem easily solved if Cortese sells a blade of St mary's grass for £50million to one of his Swiss banker pals and then buys it back again for (coincidently) the same price sometime later..... ;-) That's assuming the rules are just based around turnover rather than profit margins?

Is there an echo in here?

Was just thinking the same. If Bournemouth fail to win tomorrow it gives us the opportunity to create a gap bigger than one defeat. Once we've got that cushion I can see us pulling away quite quickly as knowing they can't be caught even if we lose a game will give the players a further incentive to blow caution to the wind. Not that we're starting to count chickens of course...

Agree. It's got 0-0 written all over it...

Via some hint dropping and reading-between-the-lines on the 'back from the Oldham game' thread, anyone know if Adam is actually injured or not?
-
If we were seriously interested in acquiring new players, wouldn't it have made more sense to have done the "negotiations" part in Nov/Dec so that we could hit the ground running on the "acquiring" part as early as possible in January? Yours Devil's Advocately...

Well, that's what happens when you play your star player in a meaningless cup tie 72 hours before a crucial league game....

Don't tell me, Adkins has been offered the Liverpool job....?

And, Dune, when you start said thread, don't forget to mention in passing that Labour did sod all about restraining bank bonuses on their watch. Probably worth slipping Fred the Shred's knighthood into the conversation while you're there. Oh, and final challenge: you're not allowed to use the words: Labour, hypocrites and opportunist in the same sentence. Good luck... ;-)

1996 saw the band Whiskeytown (fronted by Ryan Adams, who - since branching out as a solo artist - has been very vocal about his appreciation of Fleetwood Mac) cover the song live and on their unreleased album A Stranger Is Born (they continued to cover it live until they disbanded in 2000).[11] Japanese pop singer Fayray has covered "Dreams" on her 2005 covers album, and Chihiro Yonekura covered it on her 2003 album Yakusoku no Basho e. Also in 1995 Letters to Cleo contributed a version of the song to the compilation album Spirit of '73: Rock for Choice. This version also appears on their album Sister. Atlanta-based indie rock group Snowden recorded a version of the song for an Internet-only EP entitled Fuel of the Celebration in 2006. Gregorian also covered the song in their 2007 album Masters of Chant Chapter VI. Gil Mantera's Party Dream cover's the song live, as well as Stevie Nick's solo hit, "Stand Back". Tori Amos covered the song live. Colin Meloy of The Decemberists adds a chorus of the song to the end of "Here I Dreamt I Was an Architect" during some solo live shows, as evidenced on his 2008 album "Colin Meloy Sings Live!". Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes covered the song live. John Mayer covers part of this song in his current Battle Studies (album) tour towards the end of his song Half of My Heart. The Morning Benders cover this song — among a variety of other songs — on their 2008 album The Bedroom Covers.

It's at times like this that I yearn for a good old fashioned takeover thread.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1346375/The-Streets-Of-Monaco-hyper-yacht-extravagant-built.html For the super-rich it would combine the delights of Monaco with untrammelled access to the ports of the world - as well as bragging rights as to owning the world's most expensive personal yacht. British designers have produced plans for a floating replica of the principality named Streets Of Monaco which features scaled-down versions of its famous landmarks including the Monte Carlo racetrack. The 500ft-long boat - expected to cost up to £700million - also boasts miniatures of the famed Monte Carlo Casino, Hotel de Paris, Cafe de Paris, La Rascasse, the Loews Hotel as well as swimming pools and tennis courts.
