  1. Seems like a very reasonable viewpoint to me
  2. I'm slightly concerned and/or paranoid when Pardew uses phrases like "pretty confident" rather than "very confident". I know if someone asks me at work on a Monday whether I can complete a piece of work by Friday and I'm not confident that it's possible I will say: "I'm pretty confident I can do that, subject to x, y and z". In other words, it's a way of sounding relatively positive on the outside when you're feeling relatively negative on the inside. Possibly.
  3. Daily Mail reporting this morning that Norwegian striker Erik Huseklepp has turned down a move to Forest. A cue for them to hang on to Tyson for now?
  4. Indeed. And how someone who helped steer the club into administration in the first place can be deemed 'fit and proper' to assume the same position again is beyond me. Haven't they already demonstrated how unfit and improper they are to run a football club...?
  5. Pardew's reaction: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2103885,00.html Hinting that Lallana may feature on Saturday vs Reading?
  6. Like most successful CEOs? BP being the recent exception of course....
  7. Erm, how can any increase in the wage bill, no matter how small, be deemed "within affordability" for a company in administration....?
  8. Not haggling as such but the various voucher code websites are pretty good. I recently bought a c.£500 camera from Dixons online and just before hitting the 'buy' button I googled "dixons voucher code" and up popped a 10% discount code which worked a treat when I entered it in the appropriate box. The code was 'Dixons7' btw so not very cryptic - they're obviously happy for people to get these codes if they can be arsed to do a quick search.
  9. Ah, that 'really difficult' hurdle for prospective football club owners to pass....
  10. Here's a task for people: Tomorrow, contact 3 friends, family or colleagues who follow Saints but who don't visit any online forums, either directly or indirectly (e.g. You've never discussed what you've read on here with them) and ask them how they think the club is being run at the moment. Let me know how you get on.
  11. ALL things considered, is there anyone who's genuinely unhappy being a Saints fan right now?
  12. Your post above has been quoted verbatim in tonight's London Evening Standard http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23860262-post-mortems-due-on-toddlers-murdered-by-suicidal-dad.do
  13. You forgot about making 11,000ish posts on a Saints forum, discussing board politics daily. Fair point. Although 99% of my posts are trivial nonsense... ;-)
  14. I support Saints. I go to as many games as I can. I enjoy the day out. I go home. Sometimes being a football fan can be so simple.....
  15. Have they not been sent on a rehabilitation trip to the Maldives yet? All expenses paid by the taxpayer.
  16. I'd like to canvas opinion on that
  17. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1297855/New-25-man-Premier-League-squad-rule-big-earners-sitting-out.html Hmmm....Until reading that article this morning I hadn't really appreciated all the implications of the new squad size rule being introduced in the Premier League this year. Perhaps Cortese is playing a waiting game on the 'marquee signing' front until he knows which Prem players will be effectively mothballed on 1st Sept? He can then loan in a couple of 'stars' all paid for by the parent club....(or, rather, to beat off the competition, we offer to pay some of their wages...) When does the League One loan window close...?
  18. Aye, but he gets plenty of bites.... ;-)
  19. Hi Weston - what do you mean by "niggling"? As others have said, 'niggling' usually translates to 'long-term'. It is muscle? Tissue? Ligaments? Something else? Cheerski
  20. We didn't want more than one player in the squad with a Z in his name at any one time
  21. In most industries, if someone joins the company who is better than the existing employees then it is accepted they will be paid more. Why should footballers be any different. Let's assume for a rash minute that Vassell is twice as good as Lambert. There should be no qualms from Lambert if Vassell is paid twice as much as him. Now spot the deliberate flaw in my argument :-)
  22. My pleasure. I like to do my bit for the big society :-)
