p.s. Abbot for leader!! Come on Abbot!
-
Diane Abbot confirmed as a Labour leadership candidate courtesy of a nomination by, amongst others, one Edward Milliband And there was me thinking that Labour had scoffed at the 'marriage of convenience' between Cameron and Clegg. Ok, both Labour party members but, in principle, a similar 'stitch up'....

For who? -
Ah, Ok....slow brain morning in Trouserland. cheers

I do. I have several online current accounts that I use to ring fence my income and pre-allocate to future expenditure plans. So, for example, my daughter's school fees are due quarterly but I transfer money into the 'school fees' bank account on a monthly basis to help me manage my overall quarterly/annual budget. Same with holidays, for example.

Question: I lost £25k on my first house purchase in 1989 (cost me £60k, sold for £35k) Should I have.... (a) felt sorry for myself and wallowed in my misfortune and moaned about Thatcher's policies for the next 3 decades Or (b) take responsibilty for my own actions (no-one forced me to take out a 100% mortgage at the top of a housing boom), dust myself off and start again without blaming the government for my woes ?
-
Yes. May I ask why for why thou doth enquire sir?

And pi.ssing on someone's grave isn't "evil"? That's what amuses me most about 'Thatcher haters', they accuse her of being a nasty piece of work whilst spouting a tirade of nasty vitriol themselves. I feel an Alanis Morrisette song coming on... Sigh

Moaning and groaning aside, one has to agree that it does seem a little odd for the club to declare an announcement is due in "a few days" and then not actually do what they said they would do. I think we'd all agree (perhaps) that 9 days is stretching the dictionary definition of 'a few' somewhat...

Probably for the same reason that both B-liar and Bottler Brown invited her back to No.10 when they became PM...it's called respect for a great leader.

Isn't the whole raison d'être for going into administration the fact that the company is unable to pay it's creditors in full? If it transpires that there is enough cash swilling around to pay the creditors '99%' ( or 'in full' to all intents and purposes) then doesn't that negate the rationale for going into administration in the first place? Slightly confused of 'Ampshire

Yes, and, like all 'stats' they can be spun whichever way one chooses...

I'd be interested to know how knowing the start date of the season makes the random prediction of our first game any more scientific to predict....

Football League Annual meeting in Malta 6th June - 8th June 2010

To me it simply means that if the 'holding company' goes into adminstration (e.g. Southampton Leisure Holdings) then the footballing subsidiary (e.g. Southampton Football Club Ltd) is also deemed to be in administration. -

Yep, I highlighted this 'admission' on another thread earlier this afternoon. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=751617#post751617 It 'proves' that SFC would have successfully won any legal challenge that they launched against this. Hence Tony Lynham/Pinnacle/MLT sticking by their guns at the time and the Football League insisting that the club signed away their right to challenge them. Would have been interesting in one respect to have seen what would have happened if the new owners hadn't signed away their rights on this one.... -
A loophole, of course, that wasn't closed before we (Lowe) tried to exploit it and then forced to accept the penalty anyway. Some might label this 'blackmailed' rather than 'forced' but you wouldn't catch me making that accusation.
-
Forgive me if i'm missing something obvious but how does quoting specific examples (which happen to be below the average) disprove the accuracy of the average in question?

Is that 'new' as in the kit or 'new' as in the mousemats? Most new 'miscellaneous' merchandise will carry the generic Saints stripes rather than the nuances of the current kit design. Or have I just had a 'whoooosh' moment...? :-)

So, if it's changed from what he showed you before there'll be no harm in describing in intimate detail what showed you before.....go on, you know you want to.... :-) Can't believe one hasn't surfaced on EBAY yet....

Good call. You may be onto something there.
