  1. Just looked it up....Compton Walk - 35 spaces... http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/compton_walk/southampton/ (keep it under your hat though....don't want everyone finding out about it.... )
  2. There's a small open air car park next to the entrance to Charlotte Place NCP car park....much cheaper than the NCP but usually need to be there 2 hours before the game to get a spot.
  3. Little old me...? Shirley Shome Mishtake....

  5. More like the road to nowhere....
  6. Any stattos out there who can unearth any team(s) that got into the League 1 playoffs from the same league position/points tally we are at the beginning of December? In other words, would we have to break the second half of the season points tally 'record' to get into the playoffs or is it perhaps more common an achievement than we perhaps think likely?
  7. Any idea where they predicted we'd finish this season...?
  8. Good point...I wonder when the last time we both played at home (in competitive games) at the same time was....?
  9. Not quite.....6 degrees centigrade and light rain Correct score prediction though... :-)
  10. I'm thinking of going to Colchester v Saints on Boxing Day. Anyone been to their new ground before? I reckon there could be a good turn out for this one, especially as Boxing Day falls on a bank holiday this year.
  11. Indeed. Case closed.
  12. So, just to clarify, how many people do I need to convince that green is blue before it becomes common enough to be deemed true by the great ambivalent English speaking nations of the world? I use the Oxford English Dictionary definitions for what is right or wrong in the English language. Call me old fashioned. "Trousers" "Yes?" "You're old fashioned"
  13. Oh yes it will....

  15. Deep sigh.... Ok....for the hard of understanding......One last time..... http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Sunday?jss=1 And while we're at it..... http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Boxing+Day FFS http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ffs
  16. Fret ye not. If Cortese is as shrewd a business man as he appears, he'll convince Leibherr to splash out a few hundred grand and buy Le Fondre just before the game thus stiffling any threat that Rotherham may have been able to muster. Saints will then make a similar sum of cash from a plum tie in the 4th round so Leibherr ends up net even on the deal. Win-win.
  17. Agree. Bit of a non brainer really. League HAS to be priority until it's mathematically impossible to reach the playoffs. Next question.
  18. I know it's not the done thing to criticise Pardew but I don't understand why some (most?) managers arbitarily rule out playing a player because they "don't fit into my vision". Surely it's a manager's job to get the best out of the players at his disposal at any given moment in time? Pardew himself seems to indicate that there is no 'attitude' problem with Saga so why rule him out because of some intangible 'vision'? When motivated, Saga is a good international player. Either Pardew can't motivate him or he's unmotivatable. Pardew suggests that it's not the latter. Perhaps I'm missing something? edit: just read the thread after posting and see that I'm not alone in thinking this. Baton down the hatches.
  19. When will the second part of the prophecy come true Phil?
  20. How much energy (gross) has been used in the creation of this thread thus far?
  21. Indeed. The rules about declaring 'official' attendee numbers was changed relatively recently I seem to recall. Can't remember the ins and outs of it but the emphasis shifted from 'over-estimating' to 'under-estimating'...as you say 'for tax reasons'....or so I heard....
  22. A semi-colon would work better between the first and second part of your post.
  23. If the 'registration of interest' by city councils in the summer was 'committment free' then I don't understand why Southampton CC didn't register an interest regardless of the uncertain situation with the club at the time. If there was nothing to lose at that stage then surely you register interest and take it from there? Unless, perhaps, it then committed them to start funding their bid campaign ahead of today's decision? Whilst I still beleve England won't win the bid I think there's a whopping oversight by the council here. (it is the council rather than the club that registers an interest isn't it?)
  24. If the level of service being provided by a supplier doesn't match the level of service advertised at time of purchase then one is entitled to a refund. Consumer law and all that.
  25. England won't win the 2018 bid. HTH
