I've just done a search and couldn't see any "pardew out" quotes (apart from those done in jest) Apologies if there are some examples and I missed them

Just noticed that the train line is shut north of Basingstoke on Monday...great

Would be disappointed not to see attendance nudging the 30k mark. Weather forecast isn't great for Easter so better to go and see Saints than getting damp and bored at some UK tourist attraction.

Why is his opinion any less worthy than yours? If he didn't receive what he paid for (in his experience) then he is entitled to seek a refund. It's that simple. It's the consumer apathy which you advocate that gives rise to such bad customer service by so many service providers and tradesmen these days. But to add some balance here, from what I've read it would appear that the 'middle men' in this case maywell have been acting in good faith. That said, when you buy a ticket for an event through an 'agent' your contract is with the agent, not the venue. It is the ticket agency that has the contract with the venue. Therefore, saying that "we were only ticket agents" doesn't alter the position. If people feel they didn't receive what was advertised then their recourse is with the ticket agent, not the venue. As I say, not taking sides here just highlighting consumer law and all that jazz.

So, is it his birthday or what?

probably as close to the truth as any conspiracy theory IMHO

"Southampton's first domestic silverware since 1976" Here's hoping there's enough space in the trophy cabinet alongside all the non-domestic silverware!

Was that two separate buckets - one milk and one water? Or water and milk combined into one bucket?

People do realise that TalkSport presenters get £100 for every reaction they get on fans' messageboards?* *some or all of the above statement may not actually be true

before the start I believe....at around the same time Malwhiney walked onto the pitch....

Cheers. So roughly 0.5% of Saints fans. Still sad despite the small number. On that we can all agree I would venture.

How many booed him? I appreciate that "it's not the point, one is bad enogh"...but for all those who heard it I am genuinely interested in how many (educated guess based on proximity and volume) 10? 500? Thousands? cheers
-
For absolute clarity here, please can you advise the number of fans that were booing Cortese (an educated guess will suffice). I will then divide by 55,000 and multiple by 100 to derive the percentage of Saints fans that booed Cortese. Thanks

I think they call it 'arse covering' in legal circles and courtrooms!! :-)

How do you know Nick wasn't acting in good faith? (again, I've no idea as wasn't involved - I'm just prepared to give all parties the benefit of the doubt)

I understand why you might not want to go to the 'trouble' of seeking a refund because it's 'only' £60 but it's that kind of typical British shrug-shoulders attitude that many business rely upon in order to make a profit whilst not offering the service or product that was advertised in the first place. It sounds like the organisers of the event should be persuing the venue for a refund in parallel to the attendees persuing a refund from the organisers. I don't say this to undermine the efforts of the saints fans who organised it but simply to highlight that, based on what I have read on here, it appears that the venue has received money for something that wasn't forthcoming (or part thereof). For the record, I'm not making a direct accusation of the venue owners as I wasn't there - just observing the likely legal position based on the opinions of others.

What percentage of the Meridian catchment area are Southampton Football fans? Roughly. -
They are paid to provoke debate and get a reaction from their audience. Job done.

I assume those complaini g about it on an Internet messageboard will be seeking refunds under the trades descriptions act? or maybe the sale of goods and services act? Either you didn't receive what you contracturally paid for or you did.

I've just found out from a reliable source that Cortese's nickname at school was 'boo'...something to do with him having a girl's name and the other lads trying to make out he was a bit of a girl's blouse when they shouted 'boo!' at him. Whilst initially derogatory, it stuck as a nckname and evolved into a term of endearment over the years. So, it turns out there were simply a few "in the knows" in the crowd who shouted "boo" when he appeared on the screen as a mark of respect. At least we'll all know to join in next time. Thread can be closed now we've cleared that one up.

I'm always game for a good old fashioned conspiracy theory, and must admit that this one crossed my mind on the toilet this morning, but I think this may be slightly too far fetched to be true...or is it....? ;-)
