  9. Second slowest (just checked)
  10. Perhaps Mr Canteen was simply pointing out in a lighthearted, slightly provocative, way that most, if not all, footballer biographies aren't exactly literary masterpieces. That said, given the state of today's dumbed down education system it may well be on next years O-Level (sic) English Lit syllabus book list.....
  11. I've got a scanner in my loft if you wanted to send me your copy for processing....
  12. So, reading between the lines with out of focus glasses and an imagination the size of Peru.....SFC/SLH was somehow involved in the funding of Hoddle's academy and the likes of Forecast and/or Pulis are also somehow connected to this. What's the biggest number one can come up with when adding 2 + 2 one wonders?
  13. There's been a few 'nod and a wink' posts over the last year alluding to underlying reasons why he joined, and why he was given a disproportionate contract, but it's never been explained to the satisfaction of the Plain English Campaign.
  14. Statement of the day.
  15. How many more times do I have to say this.....he's only here as a Trojan Horse for his siblings to help them win the contract for supply of cranes for the Southampton Dock expansion programme. Keep up. (Note: A percentage of the above statement is completely made up)
  16. It's been hinted at on here that there were certain strings attached to the signings of these two players, or rather that there were alteria motives onvolved. It's even been held up as a contributing factor to us going into administration. There was even a suggestion of a connection between kim van der waals and pulis senior. The penny's never dropped for me on this one so anyone able and willing to summarise for me? Thanks
  17. to reduce the chances of something similar happening again in the future?
  18. The trouble is, IMHO, is that it's precisely this 'apathy' to recent history and thus lack of accountability, that people in 'business circles' rely upon to do whatever they want to do and in a devil may care way. If they knew that their actions would be scrutinised and held to account more they would be less likely to act in the way that they do. For example... Would 'Tommac' have had second thoughts about 'inflating' his supposed contact with Allen's people? Would Lynham have persued his takeover for so long whilst knowing his original backers had withdrawn one by one? Would the "WH Ireland/Fry/Barclays/begbies" 'coincidence' have happened? Without post event scrutiny people are more or less at liberty to do what they please, no matter how morally dubious, as they know thier actions will be tomorrow's fish and chip paper.
  19. Why are some people concerned about going back over the past? If no one has anything to hide then nothing damaging will come of it, just clarity as phil says. Humans are best at moving forward when they are knowledgable about the past. Ask an ostrich.
  20. Nah, too far fetched even for me... There must be other ways of boosting book sales.... ;-)
  21. Shore...?
