This will obviously be a severe test of whether the cup will distract the players too much. Here's hoping we don't see any players subconsciously over protecting themselves from 50/50 balls in the games leading up to this one. Human nature and all that...

I don't think we should 'try to win' the cup in the sense of making it the focus of our attention but if it happens as a natural by product of consolidating our position in the top 2 then, hey, why not win the damn thing...as long as it doesn't become a priority then there is every chance the positives will outweigh the negatives. (but let's not polarise the argument by saying there are ONLY positives or ONLY negatives of a prolonged cup run. It could work either for us or against us)

No, it's not bad. In most walks of life we choose what events we want to focus on more than others - exam choices, project priorities at work, etc. Only in the artificially emotive world of football does logic go out of the window to be replaced by emotion laden reasoning.
