  1. As long as they ignore the "moaners'" of course!
  2. Anyone know? Via andrew oldknow perhaps? I recall reading somewhere a while back that they were impressed with the fans' passion via feedback they'd seen on the echo site, but what about here? I know it's "only an Internet message board" but must be a useful barometer to guage what fans are feeling at any given time?
  3. Oh, and we should rename the chapel to the ted bates stand while we're at it
  4. Phil - I know you said it tongue on cheekily but I suggested in one of the other threads that it would make more sense logically to switch the 'home end' to the Chapel. It keeps the police happy and gives us a complete end for voiciferous home fans. The so called more gentile fans can move from chapel to kingsland or itchen south. Think out of the box folks.
  5. And this one: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16478
  6. Totally agree that this should be looked at. Some related thoughts on this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16778
  7. What was it that Gary Player used to say about making your own luck...? ;-)
  8. Yep, although they do now have a valid point in that it could equally have not turned out alright. But there were definately more people with a closed mind in the "admin is never a good thing" camp than those with a slightly more opened mind in the "it could well be the best thing" camp. My intuition was always telling me that admin would end up being a good thing in the long run. Neither hindsight nor foresight. Just a gut feeling at the time.
  9. Are you asking or telling...?
  10. Does this particular Wolves fan have a scanner in his loft per chance?
  11. He's a footballer not an actor though... Ah, hang on...."The Bill"...sorry, my mistake....
  12. Not forgetting those who had the foresight to believe it would work out ok in the end....
  13. Scratched record alert..... Why don't we just loan in (then buy) the one or two main Bristol Rovers players that fed Lambert last season? Surely there's a price that would tempt them but not be extortionate for us? Hey presto - ready made strike force from last season....no?
  14. Correct. It's not compulsary. Only for those who want to have a wee chat about their views. Anyone would think this is a discussion forum.
  15. Voted 7th -9th I've just got this horrible feeling we'll just miss out having gone on a second half of the season winning spree!
  16. Interesting to read back through people's feelings about Administration back the spring. (not picking up solely on your post GM but just quoting your opening post as something to latch onto) Anyone changed their views on the perils of Administration yet? I personally would rather be where we are now than where we might of been had we managed to avoid administration by the skin of our teeth. It was the only way of getting a regime change and by jimminey do we now have a top notch regime.
  17. Great post - cheers for sharing. When all's said and done, the vocal minority who were advocating that going into Admin could ultimately be a good thing look like being proven right in the end....
  18. But, it could be argued that his actions (or rather his words) made the 'story' international and thus planted a subconcious seed on Cortese's subconscious radar. So, when he opened the email in April this year making him aware of the Southampton FC 'opportunity, who's to say that he wouldn't have simply filed it away with all the hundreds of other such speculative emails he must get every month, had he not had that earlier awareness of the supposed Paul Allen interest. Never under estimate the power of the subconscious human mind I say.... No Tommac = no PA story in 2007 = no months of debate on here = no denial from Vulcan = no international awareness of our plight = no Cortese awareness = binned email in April 2009 And there you have it.....The conspiracy theory of all conspiracy theories.
  19. I feel a lot more at ease having read this cortese interview. The big question: who sent him THAT email he refers to in April alerting him to the club being in admin? Oldknow?
  20. Are you my wife? You seem to know me too well... ;-)
  21. "The takeover had been Cortese's idea. Intelligent, hard working and happy with his career, the 40-year-old was a successful banker in Switzerland and Liebherr was one of his clients. Southampton had first appeared on Cortese's radar in 2007 when he read stories linking Microsoft's Paul Allen with the club, but it wasn't until he received an e-mail in April that he seriously considered the club as an investment." praise where praise is due. Without the hoo-ha and conspiracies about Paul Allen on here cortese may never have heard of our plight!
  22. they've changed the colour of the grass? FFS! Liebherr out!
