Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?
trousers replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Supplementary question: How many hours per day are the Football League's financial scrutineers devoting to fine-toothcombing our accounts and how far through their investigations are they to date? I, of course, assume the Football League are conducting their interrogations with transparency..... -
Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?

The trouble is, the bit we'd rather not know about will probably lead to the latter bit we're all interested in.... -
There's a similar model on EBAY for $1,340 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMEGA-Rare-CONSTELLATION-Two-Tone-WALL-CLOCK-80s_W0QQitemZ390024735774QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item390024735774&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177

Kelvin Davis: "It's a shame JP didn't take the second last gasp free kick"
trousers replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Off the top of my head / paraphrasing... That he prefers playing in an attacking midfield role! That he spurned a move to Ipswich because he didn't want to go to another club in the Championship. That he still feels he is still good enough to play 'at the top' and as such is unlikely to be at Saints next season whether we stay up or not. -
Sorry if posted elsewhere but I don't remember it being quoted elsewhere.... I was reading Kelvin's captain's notes in the match day programme yesterday and he said (words to the effect of): "It's a shame JP didn't take the 2nd last minute free kick vs Watford because I'm sure he would have scored!". I guess he's saying it partially in jest and in retrospect, but doesn't a captain have any influence on who takes free kicks during the game these days? Or did it all happen too quickly on the night for such a critical decision to be made by Kelvin? Or, perhaps this is a good example of why keepers don't make best captains in all scenarios?

Oh yes he will

What's the deadline for forming a new club in time for next season?
trousers replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
....and, of course, there is some reverse psychology logic in asking the question....the more we ponder the unponderable the less it is like to happen. Confusious 378 BC -
Yes, I know, I know....people will accuse me of "wanting" the club to go under just because I pose an unpalitable question but he who dares, Rodney..... Hypothetically, IF the club went to the wall (i.e. a suitable investor can't be found in the next couple of weeks) what is the deadline for starting a new "Southampton FC" from scratch and which league would we start off in? Who would take care of the logistics around getting a new version of the club re-established? I'd rather have an incarnation of SFC to support next season than nothing at all, which could happen if we miss a deadline for such things.

Why no message from the FOOTBALL CLUB board in the matchday programme?
trousers replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
At the first press conference that the Administrator (Mark Fry) held at SMS a journalist asked him if Lowe an Wilde were still on the Football Club board to which Fry said, "No, they've resigned from both the PLC and Football Club boards". The journalist then asked, "OK, so who is now on the football club board?". To which Mark Fry responded, "David Jones and Kenneth Tointon". (Note: the latter's name was muffled and unclear but someone came up with Ken Tointon as best guess. Mr Tointon just happens to work out of the same building in Southend as the Administrators for Southampton Leisure Holdings...) I still don't understand why the Football Club board isn't in "business as usual" mode for day-to-day activities such as writing chairman's notes in the matchday programme. -
Message for Wotte: Play Skacel in attacking midfield role vs Palace
trousers replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Surprise. Surprise. An article in the match programme today about Skacel and a quote from him saying he prefers to play attacking midfield. Why oh why don;t we play players in their best position? Rocket science? -
Just got back. MOTM = Saeijs. No question. Good all round team performance although Palace turned up for the sunbathing and nowt much else.

Message for Wotte: Play Skacel in attacking midfield role vs Palace
trousers replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
We need goals. Why are we worrying about who to put at left back when having someone there all season as left us 2nd from bottom? We need to attack...score goals....play 3-4-3....sorted: ......................Davis...................... .......James........Saeijs........Perry...... ..Lallana...Wotton...Skacel....Surman.. .......McGoldrick....Euell....Saga.......... -
Saints 2 Palarse 1 (just to prolong the agony another week)

I think your missus would be a bit hacked off with your kind offer if all 25,000 of us took it up.

7000 Tickets left for Palace game (according to the ticket office)
trousers replied to Saintmike666's topic in The Saints
I thought I'd read/heard that the corners had been re-opened for the rest of the season? Hardly the act of a club trying to fill the ground if they're still closed? (Ok, it sounds like 26/27k is about as much as we'd sell today but slightly surprised in principle.
