But this may actually be a solution to the fact that the car park isn't full on matchdays...I'm sure more people would park there if they knew they could get a place on a 'turn up and park' basis rather than having to faff around with pre-booking.

One would hope that they would only be using the pay machines on matchdays..... Perhaps all Cortese is doing is trying to get the car park full on match days by turning it into a bog standard public car park rather than have it partially full like it can be on match days. I'm sure many more would use the car park if it can be used on a 'just turn up' basis rather than access having to be gained by 'prior arrangement'.

I think this may be just a ploy to simply deter Kevin Keegan from continually parking in the St Mary's car park and triggering off needless rumours in the process.

100% agree. The best lessons I had were with teachers you had a healthy fear of. I still remember being a bit scared of them but it's also the knowledge they imparted that I remember most too. Bring back teacher led discipline in schools.

The NHS is exactly the same - nigh on impossible to sack anyone by management discretion. My sister in law is a senior matron at our local hospital and comes home on a daily basis exasperated by the amount of staff working for her that are lazy and/or incompetent but the number of hoops she has to jump through to get rid of them is simply crazy. In the private sector if you're crap you get slung out. In the public sector management get dragged down by an avalanche of beaurocracy designed to protect incompetent employees in the name of "human rights"...

Labour haven't because they're in the same idiolistic camp and the Tories haven't because they'd get left wingers moaning at them and going on strike. (and there's only so many left wingers you can get away with annoying in one parliamentary term) ;-)
