Apologies if already covered but haven't had much chance to keep up with developments over the last few days.... As I understand it, the "21 days" exclusivity period is 'simply' being used by Pinnacle to tie up the legalities rather than for further financial due diligence. Is this 100% the case? In other words, is there anything left in the "all you need to know about the club" filing cabinet to be uncovered by Pinnacle that could make them do a u-turn or did they know everything they needed to know to complete the deal before entering the exclusivity phase? If there is still some due diligence type activity left to do, anyone know what sort of area(s) we're talking about and what the likelihood of uncovering any showstoppers are at this juncture? Apologies for my over-caution but just want to understand if we're in 'fait a complis' mode as far as the technicalities are concerned. Thanks

The Saints Aid website was quite clear IMHO. It said money would either go to help bail Saints out if no new owner was forthcoming OR go to local charities if a new owner came along. Interesting that the message didn't seem to get across though

Regardless of the merits or otherwise of Wotte, I'd rather see a clean sweep as a matter of principle. Rightly or wrongly, Wotte is a link to the previous regime and I want to see a completely fresh start on the senior management front....

All I know is that I feel happier now than I did 6 months ago. So Stanley may well have a valid point. Of course, knowing Saints, this feeling of relative happiness may well revert back to deep despair again over the next 6 months!

Alternatively, what if.... Pinnacle offered more than the mystery other bidder, but not by a huge amount, but the mystery other bidder was prepared to invest much more on the team in the future.....Fry would be duty bound to go with the 'slightly higher' bid from Pinnacle, wouldn't he? Regardless of future investment promises? Obviously there is relief that the club is out of the woods (almost) but I wouldn't say that the best bidder for Fry and the Creditors necessarily = the best deal for the club longer term....but let's hope so!! COYR!!

Does that mean the players too? Isn't there now an interesting 24 hour 'loophole' whereby our players became (in theory) free agents due to not being able to pay them yesterday?

You gotta feel some sympathy for the guy though....whatever people think about him he must have put a huge amount of personal time and money into trying to save the club.

So, the upshot of all this is that the Football Club has avoided going into administration. Now bring on the battle with the Football League?

Can Pinnacle be gazzumped if one of the other bidders comes back with a much bigger offer on Monday (say) or is it now only Pinnacle's to throw away if they decide they don't want it at some point during the 'exclusivity' phase?
