Yeah, poached rather than 'sacked'...?
-
Because they're not blameless....?
-
Probably the most 'sensible' option of the names being put forward I'd venture
-
Regular viewers will know that I've been one of the forum's eternal optimists over the years (often annoyingly so) but I concur with CB Fry... We're going down this season. ("Happy to be proven wrong" etc)

It's not lent yet though...

Beat Chelsea. Get Potter Simple.
-
Sorry, more thinking out loud... Could we envisage a scenario whereby we come to an 'mutually beneficial' arrangement with Chelsea and Potter? Let's assume Chelsea are thinking of sacking Potter in the not too distant future anyway. And let's assume Potter has realised he's not the right person for Chelsea but Potter doesn't want to blot his record by resigning or getting sacked, and Chelsea would rather avoid sacking him as it would highlight their error in appointing him. So a win-win for everyone could be an approach by Southampton and a "reluctant" Chelsea let him go... No? Thought not. Next!

No doubt certain Twitter accounts will be claiming as much...

Out of curiosity, and wondering how left-field Sport Republic may go with their next appointment, I looked up who the manager of Man City's U23/Development squad is, expecting to see someone with an expansive pedigree, but turns out it's this fella: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Barry-Murphy Now, I've no idea about his credentials but how does someone whose managerial career is a two year stint at Rochdale end up in charge of arguably the best academy players in the country? Suffice to say, I assume we can rule out poaching someone from Man City's development set-up on this occasion...
-
Ah, fair enough. Probably best if I stop thinking out loud in that case P.s. where's this Michael Beale fella now...? edit: just realised he's Rangers manager... Maybe reunite the two of them here then... ?
-
Whilst Gerrard would be way down my personal list of preferred candidates, I feel he would probably gain instant respect from the players and unite the dressing room, at least in the short term. So, he *could* turn out to be a decent option in the circumstances...
-
Hmm, not sure about that... I was a Ralph supporter for the majority of his time here but one thing I reckon often let him down was the timing of his substitutes

Jamaica?
-
Yep, you're right.... Everyone else was really enthusiastic about his appointment and not negative in the slightest. That was just clever old you...
-
Sorry Sidney, we're still awaiting a new consignment of medals. We'll ship them over to you as soon as they arrive. Thanks for your patience.

Yep, one of those accounts that tries to be clever by pre-empting events, albeit likely ones, and then claiming they are ITK when the inevitable ends up happening....or playing the "they were about to, but changed their minds at the last minute" card when things turn out differently. In other words, an account for the gullible in society (hence the large following...)
-
I guess the irony is that that was a carbon copy of a typical latter-day Ralph's team's performance.... Play semi-decent in the first half... Go 1-0 up... Take foot off pedal in second half... Opposition get stronger... Substitutions delayed.... Opposition score (courtesy of a Bednarek fuck up)... Substitutions then made, albeit too late, leading to more disjointedness.... Opposition get the inevitable winner towards the end.

Jones straight down the tunnel
-
And there we have it... Cheerio Nathan
-
A point is no good to us anyway so we might as well lose from here if we still want Jones out

The sort of thing that Lord D really hates... I'm sure he'll be on here to slate the manager any time now...
